Although this book has little in the way of technically drawing skills it provides some really fun, cute ideas for drawings. There are some really interesting characters that are fun to draw.

I really enjoyed this book. Thought that it was very cute and gave me some very good ideas and inspiration for drawing. Loved it! :) Wonderful book for kids and adults.

Draw 62 Things in Nature and Make Them Cute is a fun book for beginner artists, doodlers and definitely for children. It is the perfect rainy day book for learning a new skill or just having a bit of fun. It is definitely more suitable for the real beginner but may also be a short reference resource for a cartoonist or illustrator. I liked the projects because they were easy to adapt and play with. Overall a great addition to the 'Draw 62 Things' series.

I love doodling, and this book is great inspiration with cute and easy example illustrations.

A technical issue with the ARC I was reading:
At first I tried an advanced review copy that I downloaded on the Netgalley Shelf app but the pages looked a little distorted on my phone, everything is a bit taller and thinner and more squished together compared to a PDF version I viewed on my laptop which probably looks like the actual book is supposed to.

I love all of Kim's doodle books. I didn't like this one quite as much as the other two in the series (animals and magical creatures) but it's still a great book. Some of the items really did seem random instead of the natural items I'd expect, and they didn't seem as well executed as in her other books. There were some cases where I wouldn't have known what the item was if not for the extra ones that accompany each item showing variations. They also seemed a little more simple, making them especially well suited for kids or beginning artists. Still, Kim's books are always delightful and easy to follow, and I always enjoy them.

I read a temporary digital ARC of this book for review.

Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for an electronic copy to read and review.

I cannot wait to purchase a copy of this book for my 8 year old! The instructions are all visual, which will be great for her to follow along with, or even for teachers to use in a directed drawing lesson. The final pieces are simply adorable - think Shopkins and Kawaii cute.

Do you like to draw cute things?
Illustrator and Instagrammer Heegyum Kim takes her readers on a fun journey to expand their character-building skills as she shows them how to draw in her book "Draw 62 Things in Nature and Make Them Cute: Step-by-Step Drawing for Characters and Personality - For Artists, Cartoonists, and Doodlers", published by Quarto Publishing Group – Quarry. This is one of four of Heegyum's books in the "Draw 62..." series.
Heegyum's 62 step-by-step instructions of quirky illustrations cover subjects such as food items, animals, and other subjects from nature (a rainbow, a tree, a planet...). Heegyum tells readers to use this book as a guide and reference to develop their own nature-inspired characters and to remember that the best way to get better at drawing is to draw.
The book shows very cute and fun drawings. It also includes tips which can stimulate the inspiration of the artists and pale green clouds circles entitled "Try it!" which offer space to reproduce the presented drawing. Heegyum does not only draw the subjects, but she also lightly colors them which provides additional inspiration. I highly recommend the book for artists, cartoonists, and doodlers, but also for children and teenagers and for those who use other media (e.g. mix-media) since the book is truly inspirational.
The complimentary copy of this book was provided by the publisher through NetGalley free of charge. I was under no obligation to offer a positive review. Opinions expressed in this review are completely my own.

This is such a cute, simple book with easy illustration ideas that anyone can follow through. It's relaxing and adorable. I'm going to use it as a prompt list for whenever I want to draw and don't know what to. It has one follow along, instructional illustration accompanied by several other examples for each prompt. 62 prompts is pretty good and some of them are pretty unique. Going to come back to this every now and then for ideas.

A straight-forward "how to draw" book that doesn't insult the reader... I appreciate that. I got an ebook from NetGalley and downloaded it to my phone, then mirrored my screen to my TV, so I could draw with my kids. My 13-year old had fun, my 7-year old had a blast, and my 5-year old followed along just fine trying her best. They loved it, and I liked that every single line wasn't planned; a simple shape is shown and you can draw/copy however you want. Different versions of each image are shown in different postures, moods, colors, to give ideas, which is a great idea.
I got this book and "Draw 62 Characters and Make them Cute", both excellent books for a beginning artist or child.

Draw 62 Things in Nature and Make Them Cute is a new volume in the Draw 62 Things series - this one is by Heegyum Kim. Released 3rd Nov 2020 by Quarto on their Quarry imprint, it's 128 pages and available in paperback format.

This is an appealing book filled with simple tutorials for drawing nature inspired anthropomorphic creatures - fruit characters, leaves, cartoonish birds, clouds, leaves, flowers, bugs, and more.

The tutorials and techniques are suited to beginning artists. There are step by step tutorials for 62 beings with different variations and poses for each one. There is a 'you try it' balloon on each page for reader drawings.

This would make a great gift for would-be artists of all ages. The included tutorials are varied and eclectic. There is no introductory technique or materials instruction; the book just includes the 62 tutorials. There is a complete table of contents, so locating individual ones shouldn't be problematic. They're slanted toward line drawings, though colored pens, crayons, and watercolors could certainly be used to enhance the drawings.

Cute book, accessible for everyone.

Four and a half stars, rounded up for the bugs - the rhino beetle is adorable and really appealed to me for some reason. He keeps popping up on my notes, my planner, rocks I paint, the chalkboard in my lab, everywhere.

Disclosure: I received an ARC at no cost from the author/publisher for review purposes.

Draw 62 Things in Nature and Make Them Cute is the second book I've read by Heegyum Kim, and it's my favorite. I wish it started with additional foundational steps, but I still found the ones provided fairly easy to follow. The pictures are so fun--I can't wait to share them with my students.

I think that students will enjoy this book because so many of them like to doodle, and cute things and nature are always popular subjects. It is not a "serious" drawing book, which is the point. It is fun for everyone, even those that are not seriously into art.

This is a cute little book with simple steps to draw cute things. As a beginner, I found I could easily replicate the drawings and had fun doing so. The title of the book is an accurate description of what to expect. I would say it’s suitable for all ages.

I received a digital ARC from the author/publisher in return for an honest review.

My son and I LOVED this learn-to-draw book. He’s seven, and the two of us were able to draw everything we tried with the step-by-step illustrations. We had the most fun with the planets and broccolis. The pictures were really so much fun. It made for a really easy and fun way to spend time together, Thank you!

I love these books by Heegyum Kim. The characters are always really cute and so easy to draw. I love that the author gets directly into the drawings and doesn’t devote pages and pages to what materials to use. I also adore how they break down the steps so easily so that your drawing does actually resemble theirs: even if you have thumbs that don’t want to draw properly.
The nature aspect was a nice change from drawing animals and I think that this would be a great book for beginners both adults and children as it had some really nice plants and fruits that were easy to draw.
Sadly I now have to draw cute pears on everything I own. Before of the cute pears.

Another how to draw book i enjoyed. Easy and quick and perfect for my doodles. I can only draw when I see a sample and this book was perfect for that.

As with the other books in this series, the drawings are definitely cute. I loved that this one focuses on random things in nature and it personifies them, which will definitely help younger artists develop their imagination and see how many possibilities there are.

The step-by-step part is lacking once again and it might not be that easy to follow even though the drawings are very simple. Step by step should set a base for any novice artist.

Very cute book! I own one of the others in the series , this is a great collection. It makes for some fun doodles and has a spot on the adjacent page for you to practice in book. Cute illustrations.

This is a very cute book about drawing many different, natural things. This would be great for anyone who wants some inspiration or to learn some basic drawing techniques. I think they would make great characters for a book or comics or just doodling.

What a cute book. This a activity book with one universal prompt: make it cute!. This is great, it is an art book designed to boost new artists into doing something different, if cute things, or the style in which they are guiding you is something you can to explore and learn from as an artist. It is really fun.
