Informative and fun book! Enjoyed learning about what my birthday signifies and represents. The extra birthday activities were a nice touch. I see this book being more exciting for a younger generation... possibly teens.

Thank you to Netgalley and the Publisher for the opportunity to receive this arc in exchange for an honest review,.

Review to come January 3rd on blog/goodreads.

I received this book from Netgalley in exchange of an honest review.

To be honest, I am normally not one into almanacs or horoscopes (though I do like to read them sometimes just for fun) but I just couldn't resist this book. My curiosity was sparked. I was curious to find out if I could find out more about my birthday.

I will be writing this one as I read. So it may be a bit chaotic, it may be a bit messy, but this is how I want to do it.

I starts off with an introduction, to which I could say no to 2 of the 3 things mentioned there. What the everloving cookie is a Celtic Tree sign? You also get a birth flower? Hold on? Planning your birthday based on your zodiac sign (people do that?).

After that book is split up in various chapters starting with All About Me, which explains all about zodiac signs, flowers, birth numbers, and everything else. Next up is Month by Month which tells us about events and activities that happen in the those months. Lastly we have Birthday Trivia which is pretty self-explanatory. Trivia of Birthday things all over the world and fun facts.

Haha, I had such a big laugh at the friend or foe part on the first part. I have been and am best friends with a Pisces (and also dated one), I have been best friends with a Capricorn for years. Both are in the Green aka NOPE NOPE RUN AWAY category. I am currently married to a Virgo (which is pink). So I definitely shook my head at that one. Apparently as an Aquarius there is no zodiac sign that I could be best friends for life with, now that is freaking depressing. WOW. :P 7 pages in and I already want to just close the book. Good start. The Chinese Zodiac was fun BUT you shouldn't just list one year but specify the dates. Because if I follow this one I wouldn't be in my Chinese Zodiac as the year doesn't match. That could have been done better. Also hilarious, once again I should stay away from my hubby as his Chinese Zodiac sign clashes with mine. OH LORD. :P
The rest was fun though, I liked doing the numerology part and it fits very well! And I found out my flower (Violet, Primroses, and Iris) which I was delighted with as I love those flowers. And then we finally got the to mysterious Celtic Tree Calendar of which I never heard, so I was very curious. I am apparently a Rowan (The Thinker), I love it and it is all very very true. My mind is a beehive of busy activities. My hubby is apparently a Vine and his just DOESN'T match, I think he would laugh if he read what his thing is.

Next up is Chapter 2, wow, it took me long to get through Chapter 1! This chapter I mostly went to find my friends and myself as the text was just WAY too tiny on my computerscreen (and making it bigger just blurred it). But I did read the activities (and some fun facts) which were tons of fun and I would love to try out the ones I didn't know already (like the chocolate brigadeiros, yes, this Aquarius wants to try that)! Oh, and apparently on my birthday the biggest chunk of gold was found, that is such a cool fact! And my hubby's shares his birthday with Agatha Christie! OMG!

Lastly we got the chapter with Birthday Trivia! I really enjoyed this chapter and all the birthday customs, cake records, birthday food, and more.

All in all, a fun book, I learned some new things, still will stick to my point I don't believe in everything and that I hope people make friendships with everyone regardless of their horoscope or whatever, I loved the art, the fun facts and the yummy things to make.

I received an advance copy of, The Birthday Almanac, by Claire Saunders. I really liked this book, it is very informative. I learned a lot about astrology, friend or foe, colors for each sign, and much much more.

This book is jam-packed with fun facts about birthdays all around the world. It's colorful and beautifully designed. Within its pages, you can learn about your star sign and birthstone and more uncommon attributes like your flower, Celtic tree, and Chinese animal.

After you've learned everything your birthday tells you, the book moves on to a calendar of fun facts about each day of the year. For example, my birthday was the first day the iconic Barbie doll went on sale in 1959. After each month, there are suggestions for fun things for people in that month to do. These may include crafts, quizzes, recipes, or party games.

Recommended for anyone looking for more information about their birthday and what it says about them, or those stumped for party ideas for their next birthday.

What a neat book about birthdays! The meaning behind birth days, months, year, birth order, etc. are explored across cultures in this book. Beautiful, colorful illustrations accompany every fascinating page. From Zodiac signs to Celtic Tree Calendar to how birthdays are celebrated around the world. There are even small craft projects for kids during different months. This would be a great birthday gift for upper elementary school aged children.

Thank you Quarto Publishing Group – Wide Eyed Editions and NetGalley for providing this ARC.

I got this on Netgalley in exchange for an honest review!
I love this guide to birthday information! I learned a lot about my own birthday month and day, especially what Chinese year and colour I am, and what my flower is! Really liked how it has so many different kinds represented, especially the calendar at the end with events for each day!

Curiosity got me this book. The book is definitely fun! From this book we can learn so much about our birthday. Astrological signs, Chinese zodiac or even as far as Celtic Tree Calendar (that I've never heard before), you can find yourself.

Of course this is not 100% perfect, but still it amazed me when the description match my personality. You are so unique that other might not be able to share the similarities totally. So fun, right? Moreover to read with your family members or friends to match them with their signs, is cool.

This is a fun book that kids will enjoy. It covers all kinds of subjects related to birthdays from your birth flower and gemstone to Chinese zodiac sign to what famous person or event happened on your birthday (most of these are kind of random -- I know of much better people and events for many of the dates I looked up). It's very colorful and packed with text, along with activities, recipes and lots of other fun.

I read a temporary digital ARC of this book for review.

This is a fun, lively book on birthdays for kids. Contents include a chapter on zodiac signs, birthstones, flowers and more, followed by a section for each month that includes activities too, and then, finally, a section of birthday trivia.

Kids and adults will enjoy looking at the information that relates to their date, day and year of birth and will also enjoy looking up the details for people they know. The book includes several types of signs, among them Chinese ones and Celtic ones along with the more familiar Aquarius, etc. There is also information on birthstones and flowers by month. Each section describes personality characteristics for each category.

This book provides an entertaining look at personality traits, traditions and customs that center on when a person was born. The illustrations are very bright, lively and engaging. I highly recommend this one for kids.

Many thanks to NetGalley and the publisher. All opinions are my own.

What do you know about your birthday? I thought I knew quite a lot about my birthday bu I learned so much more after reading this book. It not only tells your zodiac sign but also several birth signs associated with your birthday. There is a section on birthday months that tell you who else was born in that month — perhaps a famous artist or world chocolate day and suggestions on how to celebrate your birthday. Will it be a party or a sleepover? What about giving a friend balloon ambush? There are suggestions on things you can do to make your parents birthday special? You will also lean how to become an expert present wrapper and bow maker. There is also a section called birthday trivia where I discovered facts about how other people and countries celebrate their birthdays. It’s amazing what people did in the past or even now to celebrate birthday..

This book was so much fun to read! The author did an excellent job of presentation of the information given. The illustrations are colorful. The explanations on making things are easy to follow. I learned so much about my own birthday and my friends. They will be surprised when they have their birthday need time! This is a book that I suggest all ages to read. If you don’t get it, you will miss out on some good fun.
