Description
Trina lives on Freyda, a world populated by kingdoms of nine-foot tall warriors who ride giant birds and battle each other with arm-canons and trilling long-knives. She is from a smaller Freydan species, but has twin swords made of live-bone that meld to her arms and generate powerful beams of light. When she brings these beams together they reveal space portals in the sky, allowing her to travel across her planet.
Due to a freak accident, Trina connected one of those portals to planet Earth, on the mountain property of science editor Paul Stevens. Paul had just lost his wife of twenty-five years and was contemplating suicide when he saw Trina fall from the sky. When a warrior contingent came through the portal, bent on capturing Trina, Paul decided to put his suicide on hold to help her. Together they spent several days on the run. But in Earth’s biosphere the Freydans grew weak and their strength failed. Their only hope was to trust Trina to re-open the portal and lead them back home. This she did, carrying a badly wounded Paul with her.
Now, Trina realizes she truly is the Angrelline of legend, the one responsible for finding a way to get all the warring factions on her planet to lay down their weapons and make peace. But her heart isn’t in it; she is in love with Paul.
Meanwhile, seventy Freydan warriors are stranded on Earth—and most of them would rather fight to the death than be corralled by humans on an unknown planet.
