Description

Three sisters search to reunite their family and find love along the way in this heartwarming, multi-generational novel -- fans of Lori Foster and Maisey Yates won't be able to resist this author's "unputdownable, unforgettable stories from the heart" (Jill Shalvis, New York Times bestselling author).

The Buchanan sisters share everything—including their inherited Juniper Inn. But when their mother won’t let go of a decades-long feud with their Aunt Sassy to attend the inn’s grand re-opening, the sisters decide a family reunion is long overdue.

Youngest sister Rose is determined to put together an extravagant celebration. Only she needs to convince a certain surly hardware store owner to help finish the inn’s renovations.

After a heartbreaking end to her marriage, Dahlia and her kids are just starting to rebuild their lives. Dahlia’s even considering opening herself up to love again, but will that upset the stability she’s worked so hard to give her children?

Sassy McGrath has never stopped missing her sister, Lillian, and though they’ve both been too stubborn to reconcile, some shocking news might finally change everything. As family bonds are tested, will these two very different generations of women find the strength to believe in themselves and each other?

The Summer Sisters is about 3 sisters, Rose, Magnolia and Dahlia that grew up in Savanah. When they were young, summers were spent at their Aunts retreat in the mountains of Colorado until her mother had a falling out with their aunt. Their aunt is now giving the mountain retreat to the sisters snd a young man that she has raised. Rose had been working hard on coordinating renovations and repairs on the cabins while Dahlia is busy moving to Colorado with her 2 children. Magnolia is at home with her husband recovering from the birth of their baby. Rose and Magnolia plan to run the retreat center. They are working hard to have things up and running for their aunts 70th birthday. A large family that have vacationed there for years are coming to stay at the center for the weekend of the birthday celebration. In addition, the sisters plan to reunite their mother with their aunt on that day. This book is all about fresh starts, relationships, family and old friends. It is a delightful book with a lot of drama.

I absolutely adored this book. One of the things I loved most about it, is how the bonds between sisters and family play such an important role in the story. Rose, Mags, Dahlia, and Sassy are such fun vibrant women, and I so loved getting to see what happened in their lives after the first book in this series ended. This was just the feel good story I needed right now, and I hope there are more books in this series coming up! I received an ARC from netgalley, and this is my honest review.

What a sweet, uplifting summer read! This was a great follow up to Home for the Holidays that can also be read as a standalone novel. I loved the addition of Sassy's point of view this time. You get three romances in one book, each from a different age and stage in life. I enjoyed this charming read!

Thank you to NetGalley and Forever for access to this arc.

I'm so excited that Sara Richardson wrote another book about the Buchanan sisters and their Aunt Sassy! I enjoyed every minute of this heartwarming story and was happily surprised that The Summer Sisters included four love stories.

Sara Richardson is one of my favourite authors. I get so excited whenever I have the chance to pick up her books. They feel whimsical, romantic and fun. I hate romance novels that bore me - I want the joy of being whisked away on a romantic adventure (like a swash buckling pirate wants to go on a ship and sail across the sea). Every time I pick up Sara's books, it feels like home. I'm free to enjoy the romance and smile. These are the kind of books I LOVE.

This book was no different! I'm super glad I picked this book up because it was such a gem. I read the original book of this series, so it was no problem for me going for round two. I do recommend picking up the first book if you get the chance, because a lot goes on in the first novel (and man am I glad it continued - so many ways this could have gone!).

New relationships, new adventures and a whole lot of spunk fills this book. It's a heartwarming, drama-filled, women's fiction novel. These women grow and learn - which is exactly what I want. Give me more! I love it.

Four out of five stars.

I thought it was sweet and I absolutely loved Sassy. Recommended for fans of Maisey Yates. It was an easy, breezy read with elements of family drama, awkward romance, and interesting small town dynamics.
