Description

2ND EDITION Cathryn is a bookish 19-year-old girl who has just begun to embark on her university life, when she, along with a couple of friends, is abducted during a sorority party by a group of armed men who work for the Brotherhood, an international crime syndicate, involved in human trafficking, drug dealing, and other criminal activities. She is taken under the wings of Alec, one of the henchmen, for almost a year. Throughout which time, they test each other's sexual boundaries, and he comes to develop an obsession for her.

But is this kind of love real, and can this kind of love last a lifetime?

Stockholm syndrome,

Lima syndrome,

Gamma hero,

BDSM,

you name it, this book has them all.

Set against the lush backdrop of the Tenderloin in San Francisco, all the way across the Pacific Ocean, to Osaka, Japan, Claiming You in Eden will take you on an emotional rollercoaster ride. Ultimately, this novel tells the triumphant story of one sexual assault survivor, as she navigates the world after her ordeal, with the help of those around her; in other words, not your usual abduction romance story.

Warning: Contains mature themes and dark triggers. Recommended only for 18 years old and above.

"""A stunning and emotional read from the start. It flows well and before you know it it's finished. This book explores a wide stream of subjects. Upsetting in places but it's not something we should shy away from. Brave and well delivered. More books please."" - Sheena Fleming, Author of Watching Over You.

""This is an intense book, which explores many difficult subjects. It was quite difficult to read in places but saying that, the author clearly knows the genre. This will suit fans who have read books of similar themes.""- Julia Cowan, Author of Cells.

""Amazing story line, lovely presentation, erotic and classy perfectly blended to capture reader's interest. Character development is deep and complex, especially of the female protagonist. It had me hooked right away, I know a book is good when it takes me away from my everyday world. I would definitely recommend it!""- Diana D. Wild, Author of The Neverending Poems"

Cathryn as just started college life when she goes to a sorority party with a friend and they are taken by the Brotherhood, a criminal group that are involved in human trafficking. She is taken under the wing of Alec, who fell for her when he first saw her. He does his best to keep her safe but what will happen when it is time for her to be sold? Intense read with loads of emotion, suspense, drama and steam. Great characters and great world building, the story really draws you in. I loved it.

This certainly has dark aspects, and yet stunning and emotional. If your someone who is slightly sensitive i would recommend reading a chapter a day, The author in the first chapter is honest and sets the scene but also prewarns the reader of what themes are in the book, so you are not reading blind.
I like how the author gives explanations at end of the chapters without being condisending, disrespectful or even trying to force knowledge onto you. Some of the infomation i wished i knew before being sexually active. But i also liked the explanations for BDSM and rope play which again was written and explained well.
I was surprised how fast i finished the book but it just grips you.
Im looking forward to reading more from this author but also the 2nd book.

Thank you @netgally and author/publisher!

Wow! I think that I’ve learned so much from this book. I enjoyed those little notes/facts that were included at the end of each chapter.

I also that it was amazing that this book had a trigger warning in the beginning! Thank you for that.

Amazing book can’t wait to dive in to book two.

This book is not an easy read, it covers subjects that could be triggering to some (TW: sex trafficking, rape, abduction) however the author notes make for an informative and important read. Whilst I didn’t really connect with the characters (some of the dialogue was too stiff) it was eye opening and important.

Definitely a tough read but a good one.

The author explains at the beginning of the book that she thinks men learn about sex from pornmovies and women from romance novels and that she was annoyed by the wrong things described in those. So she endeavoured to write an erotic romance novel that is without wrong signals or information and explains things in notes. I wondered if that was just an excuse or the real reason.Nevertheless she has a nice way of writing and I even read the sequel (what is a lot better)

It was a good book obviously for the topics it is difficult to write a review without being obnoxious so I really loved how the author does an introduction about the triggers in the book so you know what you are going for.
Overall the story was an emotional ride!

1st Reading: 3rd March 2021 (ARC by Netgalley)
Rating: 4.5 out of 5

This is my very first book about erotica / BDSM. I like the characters (LIKE REALLY) and I want them to be ended up together but ofc the author just likes to torture the readers. I like the author notes that gives me a lot of information (not a perv one but they are really helping me to understand more in this adult world)

I definitely going to read the 2nd book but what I want is just Alec and Cathy's endgame.

Thanks author for the information, I've learned a lot to somehow protect myself. Also thank you for Netgalley that I can read this book.

GONNA RIOT IF THEY DIDN'T END UP TOGETHER REALLY IM GONNA RIOT
p.s. the 3rd book place is in Bali, Indonesia
