I was hoping to like this book more than I actually did. The story was interesting enough, but I just didn’t get that “ I’m going to love this book” feeling. This may be a good solid mystery for others, it’s just not for me.
This is 3.5 star rating for me.

REVIEW BY: Librarian

Return to Palm Court by: Stephanie Edwards is a fantasy paranormal. A family with paranormal gifts of communing with the dead find themselves in a fight with dead fraternal twins, the male twin harboring a thwarted romantic relationship with the heroine's sister. This book includes ghosts, witches, and even mermaids.

I had serious questions about the deaf status of the heroine and what that had to do with the story. IMO it diminished the character and the journey of deaf persons in general.

It is a quick read. I gave it four stars because it is well written.

Ghost stories have not really part of my reading list; however, Return to Palm Court: An Isle of Palms Suspense by Stephanie Edwards was so good. The characters are multi-dimensional. The vividly detailed description of the South Carolina Lowcountry made it feel like I was there. The plot was suspenseful and twisty. The supernatural aspect was not forced and felt right. I had to buy the first book to see where the Nelson sisters journey began, and I cannot wait for the next book in the Isle of Palms series.

***** I received an ARC from NetGalley, the publisher, and the author for my honest review. *****

I am always amazed by imaginative works and especially those of new writers. In this second installment of the "Palm Court" series Stephanie Edwards, the author showcases her imagination by bringing back the ghost and intrigue from the first novel with the addition of some new characters and more depth to some of the existing personalities. . I loved the freshness of "The Haunting on Palm Court. That freshness remains in this second installment with new romance but the same beautiful setting in South Carolina's low country.

In a twist of happenings, it seems the ghost was not really sent away in the first novel and returns with a vengeance in an attempt to wreck again the lives of two young lovers. The same characters participate in the attempts to remove the wretched rejected lover in the other world and face some mighty opposition. The fact that the current romance is a sister of the original haunting and is deaf adds a unique flavor and almost a normalcy to the family. A new character is the child of the romance in the first installment and she is an adorable little girl that also adds to this charming family story. While the plot and the ghosts are a little "otherworldly" the characters are real and fun. Summer is the perfect season to read this series and enjoy the fun, romance, and South Carolina setting. Thanks to #NetGalley#ReturntoPalmCourt#StephanieEdwards for the opportunity to read and review this book.

How could I resist a Lowcountry tale set on my favorite Lowcountry locale, Isle of Palms, and full of ghosts with a feisty heroine? I dove right into this tale of bad ghosts verse good ghosts. The Villian Parker who was previously vanished returns with a vengeance to get to Blake through Blake's daughter. Brittany Nelson, sister of Blake must banish Parker for good.
There was quite a bit going on in this book, while it was hard to keep up with at times, I loved the delightful characters and storyline. Brittany, the heroine in the book is also deaf and I think it was so important to give readers a glimpse into Brittany's world and the world of the deaf community.
I look forward to the next book in this delightful series!

This was different from my normal reads and I did enjoy it. Very heavy into supernatural - not as lighthearted about it. I did like the characters and the setting

Thank you to the author, publisher and NetGalley for my eARC in exchange for an honest review.

Brittany returns to her sister’s home in South Carolina to help out with her niece and the B & B that her sister, Blake, and brother-in-law run out of their home in aisle of Palms. Things immediately go awry when Blake’s violent ex-fiancé returns to haunt her. The sisters are flung into a battle to save everything they love.

I’m a huge supporter of independent artists and this book is a prime example of why. The author does a great job of creating interesting scenes and weaving scenarios that beg you to suspend disbelief and join the vibrant characters in a world where anything is possible. Suspense builds as one possible solution after another falls through. Only the love between Brittany and Ryan enables them to go on with the fight. Altogether this makes for a fun, sweet read, though I would have classified it more as a fantasy/paranormal rather than a suspense.

There were a few things I was a bit disappointed with, one being less character development than I hoped for. In the beginning when we meet Brittany I felt rushed, I wanted to know more about her, more about how she felt, more about how her lack of hearing had effected her experiences. She’s just gotten her masters degree, she’s been successful in many ways but we don’t get a lot of information about it. But in some ways I appreciate that, I’d rather get not enough backstory than too much. Another thing I was disappointed with was the mermaids.. I won’t say any more about that :)

All in all I enjoyed this book and would recommend it to anyone who appreciates independent art and the fantasy genre.

Thank you to NetGalley for providing me with an ARC.

This book, wow. I had to keep reading it once I started, I could not put it down no matter what I needed to do. Very glad that I was off work or that could of been interesting. It moved along at a great pace making for an extremely comfortable and relaxing read. The characters are fantastic and by the end of the book, you feel as though you know them and you cannot help but love them. The story will grab you and keep you reading till the end and then you need more. This book is a must read, no doubt about it.

Brittney returns to South Carolina to her sisters home to help out with her niece and the B & B. Things take a turn for the worse fairly quickly. Parker returns! Can they succeed in getting him to vanish again!?
Brittney is deaf, she can read lips. This is her story. She can also see spirits and so can her sisters.
A fun quick supernatural story with unexpected twists and turns.

Thank you NetGalley and BooksGoSocial for the opportunity to read this book.

The Return to Palm Court by Stephanie Edwards
This is the second installment of the Palm Court series. This book tells Brittney’s story. Brittney is deaf, but can read lips. She also has the ability to see spirits. All of the Nelson girls have this ability. They have all had to deal with Blake’s ex, Parker, who refuses to accept the fact that Blake has moved on and that he is dead. Just when they thought they had banished him for good, he reappears. This time with a vengeance. What better way to get everyone’s attention than to kidnap Blake’s child, Macy. He and his dead twin, Maggie, are a force to be reckoned with.
All of the characters you loved from the first book are back to help banish Parker (and Maggie) for good. Will they succeed? Will Macy be okay? Can this group figure out the ancient spells in order to ensure their safety before Parker and Maggie wreak havoc on the whole island?
This is a great follow-up to The Haunting of Palm Court. You will want to stay up late to finish this one!

3.5 stars!
Fast paced, lighthearted mystery ghost story.
This is book 2 in the Isles of Palm Suspense and while it could be read as a standalone, I recommend reading book 1 to gain better insight about the back story of the characters real and ghostly.
After book 1, I was really curious as to what direction this book was going to take. This installment takes a unique perspective with one of the character which I was curious how it would play out.
Blake’s sister Brittainy, comes to the B and B in the Low Country to help her out and strange happenings begin to re occur.
A wayward spirit is back and he wants revenge. The story developed nicely and overall I enjoyed this read.
The imagery was beautifully described, however, some elements of the story just seemed to unbelievable even for a paranormal ghost story.
Nevertheless, I’m curious about what will happen next.

I throughly enjoyed this very entertaining book. Taking place in South Carolina, spiritual beings with powers, terrorizing a family. The main character Brittany, who is hearing impaired goes to help her sister Blake with her niece Macy. As Brittany tries to control a situation with the help of her deceased grandmother it turns out a blunder with the most unexpected!!!
What a whirlwind of a story that captures you at the beginning.

This is second book in the Isle of Palms Suspense series by Stephanie Edwards.

The main character, Brittney Nelson is deaf and I find this to be a fascinating choice for the author. She learned at a young age to sign with ALS but didn't lose her ability to speak. I liked getting to see all the gadgets available to assist the deaf. They have sure come a long way with that technology.

There is a lot different and unique about this story. The sisters also have these twitchy aspects about them too which gives this book a supernatural vibe as well.

In the previous book the spirit of Parker had been dealt with by binding him with a ritual. But somehow Parker has escaped this supernatural jail cell and is again taunting the sisters.

I don't want to get too much into the plot and story structure since that is the best part of this book and I don't want to give anything away. The with does get a bit choppy in the begging but that is easy to overlook since the story is so good. And the lack of flow only seems to happen in the beginning very briefly.

This can be read as a standalone but digging into book one will give you the needed backstory if you get lost.

I highly recommend reading this

Definitely pick this up if you are a cozy mystery lover.

I received this as an ARC (Advanced Reader Copy) in return for an honest review. I thank NetGalley, the publisher and the author for allowing me to read this title. Opinions are completely my own.

This was not the book for me I'm afraid. I just couldn't get into the story and the characters felt a bit fake to me. The supernatural premise was interesting and I enjoyed parts of the story. I persevered and finished the book but it took me such a long time because I kept putting it down.

The fact the main character was deaf was something I enjoyed and I don't know if I'd read the first book I may have been more invested.

Overall I think this is probably a good book if it captures your interest - it just wasn't for me.

The second book in the Isle of Palms Suspense series grabbed my attention from page one. Although this is part of a series, this is the first book I have read by Author Stephanie Edwards and it definitely will not be my last! With a combination of devious and violent ghosts, and the majestical setting of the low country, what more could you ask for? After graduating with a Masters in Architecture, Brittany Nelson moves in with sister Blake and her husband to help with the B&B that used to be the Mason family home, and her niece, Macy. Having lost her hearing as a toddler, due to an illness, Brittany has never let it hold her back. Soon to be married, Brittany is excited about her future, especially getting to spend time with her beautiful niece, until a violent ghost, Parker, returns to cause havoc. Will Brittany and Blake be able to send Parker back to where he belongs or will the dangers only escalate? I highly recommend this amazing book! Author Stephanie Edwards is definitely on my favorites list! I am so excited to see what this awesome Author has in store for us next!

This is a well written ghost story that takes place in Lowcountry, Isle of Palms. The same cast of characters is back for book 2, including Parker, a malevolent ghost. I loved the suspense and heavy paranormal aspect to this book. I would suggest reading book 1, I think knowing the background would be beneficial in enjoying this book.

Return to Palm Court is set in the Lowcountry and there are ghosts! Who could ask for more? The second book in a series by Stephanie Edwards so I would suggest getting the background of the characters by reading The Haunting on Palm Court first. I love the relationship between sisters Brittany and Blake. I hope this story continues!
