5.0 out of 5 stars Unique, Fun Maze Idea

I’ve reviewed a fair number of dinosaur and maze books, but I’ve never seen a dinosaur maze book quite like this. It is supposed to be for both children and parents/caregivers. Kid and grownup go head to head for each set of mazes, to see who finishes first… with a harder one for the adult, of course. The book also has 4 increasing levels of difficulty, too. The publisher has made up little scenarios for each maze. For instance, in one of them, the maze is to help Beau the Brontosaurus get to some tasty plants in the river valley. All the mazes have interesting, full-page backgrounds showing the scenario (like Beau and the plants) with the maze in the middle; these would be fun to color afterward for older kids with good fine motor skills. (They would probably be too complex for the youngest of the book’s suggested age range.) Some mazes are regular square or rectangular ones with all vertical/horizontal pathways; others have different shapes and have diagonal pathways. As part of the competition, maze winners get a special word that then makes up a sentence for the level. This book looks to be a lot of fun for the right family… who likes both dinosaurs and mazes.

I received a free copy of this maze book, but that did not affect my review."

This dinosaur maze book has 4 levels throughout the book with 7 mazes at each level. The mazes are cute, illustrated with dinosaurs and fun for kids. While the mazes a lone are fun for a kid to do on their own, this book gives parents and caregivers the opportunity do bone with the child while working together to finish the mazes and puzzles. The way the book does that is by having a few mazes at different levels where the kid has one maze and the caregiver has a similar but more difficult maze and they race to see who can finish. After each maze, you and the child look at the solution to compare and also get a word to help you put together a sentence at the end of each level. I really liked these inclusion of activities where it was more of a bonding activity where kids and parents work together instead of a kid working on puzzles or mazes alone.

What a darling book! I love anything that encourages grown-ups to spend time with the special children in their lives, and anything that encourages kids to stay away from screens. I think this book could appeal even to kids who are not necessarily into dinosaurs. The quality time with an adult, the opportunities for coloring, the challenges of the mazes, and the secret sentence added touch are great! Bravo to the author for finding a fresh twist on a very old idea.

The book is very fun and ideal for parents to accompany their children developing the activities it presents, which allow children to color but mainly develop their mental skills even more when solving the mazes, and even more having to form a sentence when finish each level. The dinosaur illustrations that it contains are very good, and allow children to enjoy a good time away from so much technology that surrounds us today. I'm sure my little brother would love to do all the activities in this book.

This book continues hours of family fun. A great book for kids who love mazes, dot to dots and dinosaurs. Which my kids love and they have recently becomes infatuated with Dinosaurs. I have a 3 years old and an 8 year old. Even thought we all had fun, The book claims to be for ages 4-8 which I believe is wrong. Most of the mazes aren’t doable by an 8 year old. The really complex ones were very confusing for him. I did those ones. For the dot to dot, the numbers go beyond 50 which I believe will be difficult for little kids. Also in one picture there are 2-3 dinosaurs dot to dot. This became very confusing for my 8 year old.

The book allow children to develop their mental skills by solving the mazes, and even more when they have to form a sentence at the end related to the maze. The dinosaur illustrations are so cute and can be painted which is very fun for children. I’m sure all the little kids would love this type of activities and games.

A fun book for your little dinosaur enthusiast! This book of mazes (for ages 4-8) follows a variety of dinosaur characters on multiple adventures through the great outdoors. Children use the mazes to help the dinosaurs find food or shelter or escape from predators. Toward the end of the book, they all come together as friends for a dinosaur dance party. After each maze is completed, you can check your answer in the back of the book and locate a clue word to be used in creating secret messages at the end of each level. Bonus advanced mazes are scattered periodically throughout the pages to be used by parents/caregivers for racing their child as a way to facilitate bonding. Other bonuses include dot-to-dot puzzles after each level (highest counting # is 52) and creative pictures of dinosaurs in nature for coloring on every page. The mazes are unique and creative and the extra activities will keep your child busy for hours! Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for the opportunity to experience this book in exchange for an honest review.

This is such a great puzzle book for young children, especially those who are fans of dinosaurs. There are lots of different mazes and puzzles to do, so your child (or you!) will never get bored. The book itself is great. Please give it a go! I recommend it, especially if you have kids of your own or you work with children.

Dinosaur Mazes for Kids Ages 4-8 by Buzzing Bee Press. Great book of mazes. It had a few adorable characters that we could follow and the mazes were achievable for one on one and group work. Dinosaur being the focus and motivation for the book of mazes.

Dinosaur Mazes is a collection of mazes for young kids. The book is broken down into 5 sections, each with 7 mazes, plus dot to dot and colouring. There is a narrative running through the book - a group of dino friends are going on an adventure and must avoid the raptors (the parents). At the end of each section there is a word puzzle, made up of clues found within the mazes. Perhaps lockdown brain is getting to me, because I couldn't work out now to find the clue words, but despite that, it's a nice easy activity book to break up the day. I ran it past a 5yo and an 8yo, and both enjoyed the puzzles. ~ Many thanks to NetGalley for a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.~

Perfect for my dinosaur-mad 5 year old. Lots of mazes with great pictures around them to colour and dot-to-dot pages, plus tougher mazes for adults to race to complete at the same time. It would be nice if the words to find were hidden in the mazes or somewhere on the page rather than just being with the answers, but still a great book.

Dinosaur Mazes for Kids is a fun way to follow the paths from beginning to end. Even though it did not download correctly for me I am able to see how kids will enjoy exploring this hands on book.
