Broadway and screen star Kristin Chenoweth's whimsical adventure about adoption reminds kids they have an abundance of love and kindness to share, whether adopting a pet or expanding their family.

What Will I Do with My Love Today? is a sweet adventure picture book by celebrity Kristin Chenoweth, known for her role in Broadway's Wicked and her Emmy Award–winning performance in the ABC hit series Pushing Daisies. When she meets a lonely dog looking for a home, Kristi shows that adoption is one of the most loving and life-changing gifts of all.

Through delightful rhyme and examples of child-friendly (and pup-friendly!) acts of generosity and kindness, Chenoweth shares the powerful message that the more love you give, the more love you get back! This read-aloud picture book

This was a very cute and happy picture book that is aimed at children aged 6-9 years old. This is authored by celebrity and Broadway star Kristin Chenoweth and features a young girl who is just filled with so much love and looks at the world in a positive happy outlook. She has so much love to share and in this book, her family and herself are looking at ways to spread their love, joy, and kindness to others from helping pay for others coffee, helping strangers, and then finally adopting a cute puppy to share her love and happiness with. This picture book and children's books is a bright, colorful book and illustrations and it would make a great story to have on people's bookshelves. What Will I Do with My Love Today? by Kristin Chenoweth encourages children to look for different ways that they too can share and spread their love and acts of kindness during their everyday lives. This book is also a great addition to teaching children about love, emotions, and filling their buckets today via kindness and positivity.

This is such a beautiful book about sharing love and happiness with others and watching how it grows. I loved the adoption of the dog by an adopted child. It definitely shared love and spread happiness to me when I read it. Highly recommended!

Very cute book with wonderful illustrations. Unfortunately I found myself more interested in the imagery than the text. I thought the writing, while meaningful, lacked the rhythm and rhyme that I prefer in children’s literature.

My kids and I loved this story, it was so sweet and uplifting and I appreciated that adoption was getting a good lightZ the comparison between adopting a puppy and baby is useful for young children to try to wrap their heads around a sometimes challenging concept. The illustrations were super beautiful and cheerful as well.

Cuuuute little book. This is the kind of art and writing I enjoy in kids books. The rhythm and rhyme was so natural and meaningful. And the illustrations were absolutely beautiful. Vibrant colors and fun characters. The message of the book is cute, with an inclusion of both pet and child adoption.

This was such a cute children's book! I read it to my 3 year old daughter and she loved it. The lesson of spreading love and joy to those around you is something we all need in todays world. The reference to families looking different for everyone was an excellent lesson as well. The illustrations were beautiful as well. This is a book I would definitely buy for my children!

Thank you to NetGalley, Thomas Nelson: Children's, and Kristin Chenoweth for allowing me to review this advanced reading copy. This ARC was provided to me in exchange for my honest review.

Thank you to the publisher, author, and NetGalley for a copy of this book in exchange for honest feedback. I found this young reader's book to be summed up best as a clean, wholesome, and generally positive storyline of a young girl who adopts a sweet puppy and the brief encounters they have together. As it turns out, the main character had been adopted as well and connects with Thunderpup who had been scared by the storm. In every page, there are really captivating and colorful illustrations and a rhyming story. I think all in all this is a warm and feel good story. Cute read and most importantly I think the rhyme / overall message was not too forced or cringy. Especially good for classrooms, churches, gifts, etc.

This is such a sweet, lovely read. It is a perfect book for preschoolers and grade school aged games. Happiness and love is contagious and this books shows that perfectly. This book pulled at my heart stings when she adopted the dog and shows him so much love.

The colorful illustrations are a perfect match for the book. I highly recommend this book!

***** Many thanks to Thomas Nelson, Kristen Chenoweth and NetGalley for allowing me to read this ARC. It has been provided to me in turn for my honest opinion.

Kristin Chenoweth's bubbly demeanor is captured perfectly throughout the pages of her children's book. Fans of the beloved actress and singer can delightfully imagine what she was like as a girl. Each illustration shows Kristi Dawn with a big smile and bursting with loving energy - whether she's dancing, skipping, singing, or helping others. This love culminates in her adopting and caring for a puppy she endearingly names Thunderpup. Through her relationship with Thunderpup, we learn that Kristi Dawn was adopted. Her parents have taught her to have a heart full of love for all of God's creation, and Kristi Dawn teaches readers that with a heart full of love, you never know how far it will go. The book ends with a charge to her young readers to wake up and ask each morning, "What will I do with my love today?" This is a tender, colorful picture book that children (and fans of Chenoweth) are sure to love.

Oh my heart feels so full.

I did not expect that little twist towards the tail end and i just sighed with happiness.

This book just isn't for children but for adults too.. it is all about starting your day right and making others feel the same.

Kindness is so easy to gift to anyone but so few do it. I read this with Kristin's voice in my head because she is just so full of joy ♡

One of the best kid's books that I have read.

'What Will I Do with My Love Today?' This story focuses on a young girl who wonders about how she can spread love everyday. The story is really sweet, and focuses on important themes such as kindness, adoption, loving yourself and loving others, and helping people.

It's very comforting, with lovely illustrations. My only negative comment is that I found it a tad cringy, for example whilst they were shopping, or when she adopted 'Thunderpup'.

However, children will love this book. I'd recommend it for children aged 8 and under. But it can be used for older pupils, to develop word comprehension and fluency. It could be used as a hook, to link important themes which were previously mentioned.

A huge thanks to Thomas Nelson for a complimentary copy . All opinions expressed are my own.

This book follows the delightful Kristi who is full of love and openly shares her love in small acts such as weeding her neighbors garden and singing in the choir among other things. I highly recommend this book to everyone and though aimed at young children it can really impact you and remind you of what love can do in society. I recommend.

Told from the perspective of a young girl, What Will I Do With My Love Today? is a sweet story of how a heart full of love can bless all of God's creatures in so many ways.

The reader follows along the young girl's beautiful examples of how we can spread love and kindness to all who cross our paths. A child reading this, as well as their parents, will be inspired to use their gifts and time to make those around us smile. This is also a fantastic book for those with blended or adopted families (even those with furry adopted friends!) as the young girl has a wonderful message about love for those who aren't blood, bonded in different ways but family all the same.

I am SO excited to buy this book as a gift for my children and their friends! This is a lovely children's book that all should have on their bookshelves.

Thank you so much to Thomas Nelson and Netgalley for the earc to read and review.

This book was precious and so adorable, it had Kristin written all over it and I adored reading it. A little girl so full of love and life makes everyone happy all around her, then she adopts a pup and spreads her love and cheer that much more.

Everyone could do with a heart like that, being able to be so happy and to spread so much love and cheer, to walk around and sing with joy. This is such a perfect book for young children to read and love, it’s full of kindness and happiness. It teaches love but also makes you feel warmth and happiness whilst reading it.

The illustrations are stunning and so realistic and really adored to the beauty of the whole book. I love a beautiful boom with the most perfect illustrations throughout, so bright and colorful just like the story itself.

Finished this and then pre-ordered it on Amazon immediately! What a sweet story full of wonderful messages about how to lead a life full of kindness and God’s love from the time we are little. The imagery was beautiful and eye catching for children. I also loved the little shout out to Broadway given Kristin Chenoweth‘s history. What a special gem of a book.

This is a sweet, fun, beautifully illustrated book about love and friendship. A young girl, Kristi Dawn, wonders how she can share her love and finds lots of ways to do it. She sings in the choir at church, helps a neighbour in her garden and sings in the grocery store to make others smile and feel happy. She ends up adopting a puppy to share all the love in her heart. She and Thunder start working together to help others and make them happy. The narrative is written in rhyme and has a nice cadence making it a great read aloud. The illustrations are large and colourful and full of happy, smiling characters. Themes are obviously about kindness, generosity, helpfulness and family, but also animal adoption and dealing with fear. Overall a sweet story that would be a great one to read and include in discussions about Random Acts of Kindess.

This was such a darling book. I read this with my son & we both enjoyed it. It's a delightful book about a little girl who finds joy and love in the little things in her day. She loves to help people by sharing her love, she does things like helping her neighbour with their garden, singing and dancing to make people smile, and helping look after her sweet little puppy. The illustrations are bright and colourful, drawing in the eye & making the book a page turner. All in all a sweet read for small children. I was given a digital ARC via NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.

This heartwarming rhyming story is about a little girl who has so much love inside of her to give that when she unleashes it, it magically regenerates giving her more and more to distribute everywhere.

This inspiring story documents the life of Kristi Dawn an adorable outgoing girl who lives in New York City. The reader witnesses her sharing her love in many different scenarios. She sings in her church choir, helps out her neighbour by happily volunteering to pull up weeds, and sings a song to her mom in the grocery store causing her dad to sing along and others present to dance and join in her frivolity. She finds sharing her exuberance and love of life is infectious and people catch her "love bug" and become lovey too.

She sees a pet shop with a huge sign telling her it's Pet Adoption Today! Inside she meets a sweet puppy that she instantly falls in love with and luckily her parents let her adopt him to give him a forever home. From that time on they are inseparable. Kristi Dawn then learns the responsibilities of nurturing a pet and names him Thunder. They become BFFs and share in all things joyful and scary that life presents to them.

The delightful illustrations are detailed, playful and engaging. The message is powerful and life-changing... the more love you give away, the more love you get back! This book would make a great gift for baby showers, adoption parties, soon-to-be older siblings, and dog-loving kids. It is a meaningful way to celebrate Random Acts of Kindness Day, National Dog Day, and National Adopt a Shelter Pet Day. It would be a lovely addition to a classroom or elementary school library. I highly recommend it.

Love is meant to be shared and it can be shared in different ways. You and your child will set out on a journey on what will I do with my love today. It's a intentional decision and one that creates a bond with your child as well. The illustrations are "happy" and "inviting". It's a great way for families to do share love with each other and those in their community.

A special thank you to Thomas Nelson and Netgalley for the ARC and the opportunity to post an honest review.
