Merlin Best is a teenager living in the unnerving town of Medston. He is almost without friends and depressed at school and home.

Feeling powerless,he uses the ability of his mind to change and succeeds beyond his most fantastic dreams. At the same time he achieves this, a strange entity of evil appears in Medston. People are transformed in a horrifying way and given a dangerous superpower.

Merlin has to work with the mysterious brotherhood to try to save Medston and the world from this entity. They must locate the energy within the town that can send it and its minions back to its own universe before it overpowers everyone.

But can even the strength of a werewolf succeed against such a horror?
