Description
Christmas cookie baking isn't the only thing that's heating up in the kitchen. Amber Talbot's daughter, Beth, has invited her new best friend, Joanna, to bake Christmas cookies this year. Officer Jace Gunderson, single dad, insists on checking out the family first. From there, thanks to the two inseparable first graders, Amber and Jace's lives intertwine over the holidays where they, too, become inseparable. But Amber doesn't need another lawman in her life. Her first husband was killed in the line of duty. Can Jace win her over, despite her reluctance to commit to their fledgling relationship? Or will Amber reject his advances and ruin everyone's Christmas?

A sweet, little Christmas novella. I liked the characters and would read more by this author.

This is a short and sugary-sweet tale of two parents who found themselves thrown together during the holiday season thanks to the adorable friendship of their daughters. If Christmasy love stories with an emphasis on family and traditional values are your cup of tea (or, more appropriately, cup of hot cocoa with whipped cream and marshmallows), then this will be an enjoyable, quick read for you. I found some of Jace’s behavior to be rather problematic, hence the three-star rating, but Amber doesn’t seem to mind having her background investigated without her knowledge or permission. The recipe at the end was a nice touch. I’m looking forward to baking linzer tarts for the first time this holiday season.
Many thanks to Wild Rose Press and NetGalley for the complimentary copy of this work.

An easy, sweet read. I generally favor authors like Alice Hoffman, Elizabeth Berg - books that are written with an artists touch. Linzer Tarts is a simple story - there is not rushing to the next chapter to find out what will happen next. It's a feel good, holiday family story - for that 4 stars. For this readers "preference" - a solid three stars.

Linzer Tarts and Broken Hearts is part of the Christmas Cookies collection of books.
Two single parents Amber and Jace will do anything for their children especially during the holiday season. The girls Beth and Joanna become fast friends and want to get together to play.
The parents are pleased to have their daughters be friends. With the girls being friends that makes the parents have to spend time together.
The book is filled with holiday traditions, the sights and smells of everything Christmas along with holidays treats and romance.
This a is a romance that will leave you smiling.
Thank you NetGalley and The Wild Rose Press, Inc for the copy to read. This is my personal review.

Linzer Tarts and Broken Hearts was a typical Christmas romance two broken people find each other a few days before Christmas and immediately fall in love. It still was an entertaining read.
