Description

Warrior Sister, Cut Yourself Free from Your Assault is a vital and timely self-help tool for teen girls, young women, or anyone working to overcome physical and sexual assault trauma, as well as the professionals who serve them. The pages within are designed specifically for teen girls and young women for two reasons. First, they're collectively the largest demographic impacted by physical violence with the least recovery resources. Second, as fellow survivors, they should know where to find their sisterhood and how to navigate the recovery valley some of us have already made it through.

Warrior Sister, Cut Yourself Free from Your Assault is a road and resource map for survivors thrown into situations where they must become their own heroes and save their own lost worlds. The book offers the trauma-informed support, knowledge, and strategies survivors need to restore their emotional stability, health, and self-worth.

This book is also used as a part of the aRIFT+ Warrior Project outreach, which collaboratively works to help assault survivors heal and take back control so they can move beyond their attack and experience self-restoration.

Can we please just admire the cover of this book? 😊 Love it!
Jenifer is a poet, podcaster and activist. She is apparently on a mission to guide women and girls who have gone through any sort of assault, out of the hurt it's left them with. Be it mentally or physically. In her own words, she states, " for restoration to occur, survivors must move forward from the incident that fractured them."
This book offers recovery initiatives designed to help assault survivors, separate themselves from their assault and assailant, to promote self restoration.
She developed this book as a companion tool, for a.R.I.F.T+( Assault Recovery Initiatives for Teens ) Warrior Project outreach programme. This project helps survivors heal and take back control of their lives.
The different sections guide you to the understanding, that, perspective is everything. Jenifer supports her points clearly, by talking about her own experiences with assault, added to some of the research she conducted.
What I love about this book the most, is that she doesn't just state facts about assault and the effects on the one assaulted. There is a practical guide, resources and activities to help you on your " freeing " journey. One of my favourite is the " 30 Day Restoration Plan", a roadmap to recovery.
What better way to get help, than from someone who has been where you've been, or probably where you are right now. It's a universal thing for assault survivors to believe, that they're supposed to curl up into an invisible ball of shame forever, never getting the help they need.
Well as a survivor myself, I can safely say that help is within the pages of this book. Right here. Right now.
To any woman or girl who has ever experienced assault in any way shape or form, I can't recommend this book enough. Do not delay your healing, and regain control of your life.
Happy Reading!
