Description
An Italian immigrant named Big Al comes to America at the turn of the twentieth century and becomes associated with some of the biggest Mafia gangsters of the day, helps elect a president, and serves as a US envoy between the president and the pope. During this time he hides a shocking and powerful Vatican secret.
In the late 2000s, investigative reporter John Tate is lured into a search for the still-hidden secret. He's met by opposing Freemasons wanting a new world order.
The investigative reporter gets help from two unlikely people: Big Al’s son Giuseppe—a former American diplomat himself—and a priest who, as a boy, claims to have been visited by the Madonna. The more Tate digs, the more questions he has:
* Was Pope John Paul I murdered by Freemasons in 1978, after just thirty-three days in office?
* Did Pope Benedict XVI resign because he was being blackmailed?
* Is the Vatican Bank the reason for the murder and blackmail of two popes?
* Why has the Vatican kept quiet about the Third Secret of Fatima ever since it was revealed in 1917 to a future nun?
The fate of the world hinges on the answers the investigative reporter uncovers!

Review of The Third Secret

4 out of 4 stars
The Blessed Virgin Mary gave 3 secrets to Lucia when she appeared in Fatima in 1917, these secret were said to foretell the future. Two of the secrets where revealed, but the third which happened to be the most important part of the puzzle was not revealed. What is the third secret?
The Third Secret. by Marco De Sio brings to light how the search for this secret plays an important role in the events of WWII, and major events in the Vatican like the death of Pope John 23, the resignation of Benedict 16 all of these with the help of Italian mafia families in both Italy and the USA.
I liked how historically accurate it is. Even though it is a work of fiction, it gives a vivid and lucid picture of how life was before and during the World Wars in the mafia and the circle of statesmen and in the church. I enjoy the fact that the author did some research to make sure that the facts were accurate and in sync with the historical timeline of how they unfolded.
The author kept my attention through out the entire book by constantly unravelling new secret dealings within the mafia, the Vatican and other States. He even propels us into the future, 2023, wherein the affluence of the Mafia families is still been felt and the quest for the secret is still a major determining factor of how things are going on in the Vatican.
I found nothing negative about this book, it was professionally edited, very presentable and easy to read. It also made use of simple and respectful language while talking of something as sensitive as religion. It was a prefect read for me, I therefore rate this book a 4 out of 4 stars.
I recommend this book for all lovers of history, church politics and lovers of investigations.

Excellent book that uses an Italian-American family to show the relationships between the Mafia, the Catholic Church, the Masons, unions, and international politics.

The Third Secret
An intriguing tale which rises questions about the Vatican and shows how religion, Italians, unions, masons and politics are connected and intertwined.
