Description

LaQuette's debut sexy romantic comedy Vanessa Jared's Got a Man tells the story of a woman getting her groove back and getting a second chance at love.

Vanessa Jared, a 40-something divorcee, decided that the best way to pull herself out of their post-divorce slump was to form The Savvy, Sexy, Singles Club and start the "Do Me" portion of her and her friends' lives.

But on the two year anniversary, a sexy sheriff shows up on Vanessa's doorstep wanting her to help him keep his little sister from marrying her no-good ex. Vanessa is not down for this at all. She wants nothing to do with her ex...until she spots a photo of her ex's new fiancee wearing her grandmother's ring--which he clearly stole from her. So now it's on. Vanessa is ready to take this trifling (fill-in-the-blank) down. What she does not expect is to fall in love along the way.

Wooo this was good! Everything I’ve been looking for in a romance. The enemies to lovers was done perfectly and the tension and build up to love blew me away.

"Vanessa Jared's Got a Man," by LaQuette was a funny and amazing read. I have read books by LaQuette previously and this one does not disappoint!!

This facet of romance for me was great and it pulled me in from the first page until the last. The meeting section and the living room section of the story made my laugh out loud. I was so tickled. Vanessa and Michael's chemistry was amazing and Michael was sooo much more than I expected. I will admit I pictured cutesy little romance scenes, but boy did Michael prove me wrong.

Vanessa facing her issues and Micheal facing his with the help their friends and Vanessa's Savvy, Sexy, and Single's Club friends was great. I loved this read and hated to see it end. I give this read 5 stars.

Thank you NetGalley and St. Martin’s Press for this ARC in exchange for my unbaised and honest review. Can't wait to read about the other members of their frienship find the same fate.

OMG! First of all, this cover is the thing that made me stop in my tracks and take notice of this book. The representation... simply adore it!! I was drawn into this book after the first chapter. I love how the three women initially connected through a shared and negative experience and turned it into something good where they just supported each other -- no questions asked. They gave support when needed and could also give words of tough love. Michael's close circle of friends did the same for him. Ok, onto Vanessa and Michael! The slow build of the relationship between Vanessa and Michael was well-paced and hot! The banter and the electricity between these two was so palpable! This book gave everything and left nothing out. I would highly recommend this book to anyone you loves a good romance story! A review is posted on IG: @Dai2DaiReader.

Divorcee Vanessa decide to move on after her ugly divorce. Years later, a sexy sheriff shows up on her doorstep asking her for stop his little sister from marry her ex. She initially refused until she sees her grandma's ring (stolen from her!) on her ex's new fiancee....

It's a sexy comedy and I enjoyed it. The sheriff is a nice swoony guy. I like that Vannessa isn't some idiotic ingenue and is more mature.... The banter in the book was fun between them was fun. I like her friends and they definitely make me laugh. I enjoyed it a lot. It's just a bonus that the main characters are POC... We don't get enough books with POC as main characters honestly.

Thanks to the publisher for the arc.

All I can say is Loved!!! I completed this book in a day, it had me not wanting to put it down, and also it wasn't too long - it was the perfect length.

The story manages to portray the seriousness of Vanessa's abusive relationship with her ex while not dwelling on it too much. Vanessa has a lot to work on emotionally since the divorce from her ex-husband.

Michael is a caregiver first and for most, he always put everyone else first before himself his sister needs help so he is going to do what's needed to do that.

Little did he know that he was going to change his whole life once he encountered Vanessa.

The whole story was cute, serious, funny, and sexy as hell. I loved that Vanessa was well off and could make all her decisions. Although there was a clear bad guy. I am happy he wasn't the main focus of their love story

Awesome

Vanessa Jared's Got A Man is more than just a romance novel. It's about a woman trying o find herself after an abusive relationship. Vanessa is trying to figure out who she is a 40 something newly divorced woman. She's determine to move on and forget about her con artist ex husband. Then a super attractive sheriff shows up and drags her back into her ex husbands drama. I loved this story, it's got romance with a lot of depth and emotions attached.
