Makeover from within is a great read by Ty Hunter. We may all know him as an elite member of Beyonce's style team but he is such much more than that. He has so much to say about how you can achieve your goals in life and be the person you want to be in life. It really gives an inside look into his life and journey. Love it.

I've followed Ty Hunter's work from his early days working with Destiny's Child and learned so much about him. He has definitely lived and has an amazing story to tell. I don't want to give any spoilers but let's just say, at times I found myself saying "wow this would be a good limited series on HBO." Each chapter concludes with his mantras or words of wisdom in summation aptly titled "Ty's Takeaways" and who doesn't love alliteration?!?
I enjoyed seeing the photographs of his family, friends and his father's drawings! As expected, there is a forward from Beyoncé but I was pleasantly surprised to read an afterward from Billy Porter who shares his experience working with Ty Hunter who is his creative director and creatively direct he has! Ty has created major fashion moments for Billy Porter. At the end of the day, Ty Hunter is a man with a vision for his life, love and future.

I was familiar with Ty's positive notes and affirmations from his Instagram page but I had no idea how much I would enjoy Makeover from Within. Ty was so open about his life and his journey. I want to be careful not to spoil any of the details. I am sure some readers will purchase the book because they are interested in the stories of the celebrities that Ty has styled and while those are VERY interesting, he offers so much more.
Ty shares his personal journey to becoming the person he is today. He is so transparent and does not share only the highlights but the very difficult moments that shaped his path. In sharing the evolution of his career, he includes pivotal conversations and questions that helped him to move forward.
This is such an excellent, inspirational book, I would definitely recommend it. I will be purchasing a copy when it is released, as I will want to reference some of the key points again. I am excited for this release and also to see the great things that are ahead for Ty Hunter.
