“You guys get it, even when you don’t” is an important them in this book and I think what anyone is looking for in the people they love in the world. You don’t have to get how someone is thinking or feeling in order to to “get it” or be empathetic and nonjudgmental. All the young people in this book have found themselves at this facility because they have undergone some trauma that has made them make poor choices. Over the course of the book you hear their stories and struggles and learn their thought processes. You also get to see the friendships they build and the support they provide for each other. The book also details the therapies they go through and quite honestly I should learn to practice more than a few of the strategies they learn in my own life. This books feels like a self-help therapy book slipped into a YA novel and I am not even a little bit mad about that!

Extremely well written, engrossing and vibrant. Draws the reader in from the first page and holds your interest. The author makes you feel like you are there with the characters. Despite dealing with heavy topics this was an enjoyable and very readable book. Definitely recommend !

I downloaded this one, then it took me too long to read it. I just didn't feel the "mood". Boy, was I wrong. I LOVED this book.

This is about a group of teens that are in a facility because of some trauma in their lives. The story alternates between each of the characters in the group. You hear each of their stories.

Boy, have these kids been through some horrible stuff. And among them, you have cutters, suicidal teens, one who doesn't speak..

As you read about their personal struggles, you also read about how they support each other, they understand each other and they build relationships.

As you read about their therapies, so many things made me stop and think "what a great way to look at this". And I may have even discovered a few tools to use in my own arsenal.

The only negative to me was just my opinion. But with so many characters, it was hard to develop that totally connection to each one. As you would get invested in one "oops we are on to someone new". Rather than skipping around, maybe a little more from each one in one go? Just my own person thoughts.

I want to thank the author, the publisher and #netgalley for the ARC which did not impact my review. I just really enjoyed this book!
4.5 stars - rounding to 5.
