Description

Oh, say can you see these sparks flying in this 4th of July-themed standalone short romance when singer/songwriter Kamar Jaziri meets the beautiful and undefeated Independence Games champion in a red, white, and blue meet-cute over a plate of hotdogs.

Summer Darby, owner of Summer’s Sun Spray Tan Salon, is a winner. The end. Every goal she’s had, she’s crushed and her streak isn’t about to come to an end now even though the games have changed. She doesn’t care how much the new singer in the pavilion lights her firecracker—she won’t be distracted by his star-spangled salute.

When Kamar Jaziri isn’t studying in graduate school, he’s working as a singer/songwriter at small gigs around the local college town—including a recent hire at Yule Heights Shopping Mall. All he wants is a taste of freedom as he chases his American dreams, and that means he doesn’t have time for romance or dating. And he definitely doesn’t have time for the way Summer Darby looks at him.

Cue the sparklers as these blue collar titans of business clash in a comedic battle for independence—and love.

A simple and sweet book. Perfect for a quick read before bed when you don’t want to stay up late.

This book was the cutest book i've read in a long time. I really enjoyed summer knowing what she wants and it wasn't the boy in control the whole time. My only complaint is I wish it was longer.

The epilogue was my favorite part of this whole book. I was smiling ear to ear the whole time I was reading it.

I love a holiday story, but you don't get too many 4th of July ones. If you're in the market for a delightful 4th of July novella, I highly recommend this one.

It's set in a shopping mall, and all the characters work at various stores. The mall is such a fun setting, so many people cross paths and spend time there, it's the perfect mixing pot for a romance. This is the story of Summer (who owns the tanning salon) and Kamar a musician who plays at the mall for tips. They meet just before the mall's big 4th of July celebration: the Independence Games. They compete against each other in a hot dog eating contest and potato sack race, and eventually find out that the true prize is love.

It's good fun, and really put me in the mood for a 4th of July BBQ and fireworks!

A Fantastically whimsical five-star read. This is just sublime, I have loved all of the Mall series, and love how they are all stand-alone as they tell the story of a different business in the Mall, and I am wondering what will be next. I love this one, as we get to hear all about Kamar and his beautiful voice, as well as the sunny disposition of the wonderful Summer and her truly lovely story. This is short and sweet, but it has so much charm. I adore this author and feel they have a great way of sucking you into the story and making you feel so much in such a short space of pages.

Mall American Girl is the fourth novella of At The Mall series. It is a cute summer romance and the perfect addition to the series releasing around the Fourth of July!

Kamar and Summer both work at the local mall, and they got recruited to participate in the Yule Heights Annual Independence Games. They met right before the games began. Once they were competing against each other in the hot dog contest, sparks were flying. The book was a fun and lighthearted read that will melt your heart.

I really love this series and feel like all her books should be much longer! I love that they are all easy reads, but I always left wanting more. I also love the inclusiveness and the diversity in her books. Not many authors explore diversity in the characters’ sexuality, so it is refreshing to see a pansexual lead in this book. I look forward to the rest of the series!

Thank you to NetGallery and to IMAG Social Media Agency for giving me a copy of the book.
