Description

It is 2010 and American Grant Decker is living his dream of being a photographer in Cornwall. He’s got a chance to go to China, courtesy of Charon, his ex-girlfriend.

What she hasn’t told him is that the trip, with a group of American teachers, includes a risky plan that could bring the wrath of the Chinese government upon him. He slips and slides through a packed itinerary encountering places and people that surprise him – people like Guy Anderson, Dr Sòng, the Mosuo people and the Chinese barber/musicians in Dali who will remain in his memory forever.

Despite restrictions, he manages to take some of the best pictures of his life and make his escape with a bit of help from a witchy connection in St Ives. With the same highly readable prose as the first book,

A Cornish Odyssey, join Grant in a new round of engaging and funny adventures.

This was a brilliant read. I really couldn't put this short novel down and had to read it all in one sitting. It was a fantastic story line that was both interesting and exciting. The characters were great and realistic. I love the way this book is half fiction and part autobiographical. It really made it feel like a very real story. I was certainly engrossed in reading it as it was so well wrote. This book was certainly close to getting that 5th star. I would of loved for this book to be much longer as I was gutted when it ended . China is certainly a very complex and fascinating country. I felt like I had learnt so much from reading this book. I certainly recommend reading this book if you love travelling the world through fictional books. It contains some wonderful culture. I am definitely interested in reading more books by this great author.

So much praise goes out to the author and publishing team for creating this interesting and believable story. That would will definitely enjoy.
