An enjoyable addition to the series, I really enjoyed this book.
The author does write engaging characters that you just can’t help but like and then proceeds to take them on a heartfelt journey with suspense that puts your heart in your mouth!
I loved how gentle Evan was with Sophie and how his family (Nighthawk and blood) brought her into the fold so beautifully. His depth of feeling about his family showed the capacity he had for real love and I liked that he recognised this quite early and then gently took Sophie on the journey with him.
I loved how Sophie, despite her past experiences, was able to help both Evan and Katie deal with their feelings about the past and begin to finally move on.

Sophie's Song is sixth in a series but my third, and it's a nice addition to the Nighthawk Search and Rescue collection. Sophie and Evan just might be my favorite pair so far; they are just so lovely together. It's refreshing that they didn't waste time with the old "I'm not good enough for him/her" stuff that novels featuring people with tragic pasts so often succumb to. There are content warnings though, and I'll put them at the very end, as is my tradition, in an effort to limit spoilers.
I will confess first that while I somewhat remember the books in the series that I read previously (Annika's and Sutton's), the details have long since been buried under the hundreds of books I've read since. So although I knew I was supposed to know things, I contented myself with just being glad the previous Nighthawk heroes and heroines were alive and well.
Anyway, here, Sophie is on the run after escaping years of hell and ends up in the same small town where Nighthawk SAR is headquartered. She quickly catches Evan's eye (and he hers) and they become friends and eventually more. There are quite a few flashbacks that unveil Sophie's full horror, and the first maybe 60 percent of the book allows for a slower pace as Sophie flexes her wings and she and Evan learn about each other. It can feel a little draggy, but I also appreciate that the author neither rushed Sophie's opening up nor threw frustrating roadblocks in the path. When her past finally catches up to her (as these things are wont to do), the resolution happens a little fast but not ridiculously so.

Sophie's Song is another fantastic addition to the Nighthawk series. A word of warning, though: The story will put you through an emotional wringer. My heart started aching on page one and throughout the book I had to battle tears. Yet there are plenty of things to smile and feel good about, too. There are plenty of heartwarming scenes, seriously inspirational ones and the HEA is absolutely wonderful. This book will join the others on my keeper shelf and will certainly be re-read!

Another brilliant read in this series Amada manages to not only make her books entertaining with her mix of suspense and drama but she also makes them books that have you thinking quite deeply about matters. In this instance we get the story of Evan Cole he cannot get over the guilt that his mistakes as a Chicago police detective led to the death of his sister but now he is trying to start a new life working with Nighthawk Security. He doesn't expect that a kind act stopping to help a woman with a flat tyre will change his life but that fateful meeting with Sophie changes his life There is an instant connection between them but both are wounded and have high walls but when danger threatens Sophie yet again then Evan and his team will step up but will it be enough You will have to read to see and if you haven't read the rest of the series make sure you grab it You won't be disappointed

Another great read in the Nighthawk Search & Rescue series. This is the 6th installment in the series and once again Amanda Zook has written a story that grabs the reader from the beginning and keeps them glued to the pages until the end. Here we have the story of Evan and Sophie, both battling their own demons. Evan is a former Chicago police officer who left the force after a personal loss. Sophie is on the run and hiding from her former life. Join them as they deal with their pasts and get their happily ever after you will not regret it.
