A Little Boy on Ramree Island by Aung Z. and Jill Brock Mong is for any reader who loved Laura Ingalls Wilder’s books. I also love learning about Burma, so this was the “icing on the cake” for me. While the picture on the cover may look like a children’s book, it is geared towards teens and YA. It is a day to day story, introducing heartfelt, homey life lessons. No cell phones here…readers are truly transported to life with no modern conveniences. From catching fevers, to Grandmothers, to the Village, monsoons and much more, I highly recommend you take this journey. Thank you to the publisher and NetGalley for this ARC.
