Dreams are fragile things. For the heir of the galactic throne, seventeen-year-old Jenanine Blackwater has never feared that her dream of wearing fabulous dresses and hosting lavish balls as the future Empress would come under threat. She wants to spread a message of peace and unity. She wants to soothe the rift plaguing so many within the realm. Destiny, it seems, is bloodthirsty and doesn’t care about the plans of a naïve girl. An ancient threat infiltrates like shadows in a growing storm, delivering a fatal blow to the current Empress. Hope escapes within the arms of her most loyal protector, the infamous Silver Slayer Kora. Stealing the Imperial Orb, the source of the Empress’ power, Kora’s flight takes her to Jena’s planet to find the musing girl and protect her against a league of demons and assassins that follow in Kora's wake. "Characters wreak havoc and homicide on an epic scale in this breathlessly paced action-fantasy." - Kirkus Reviews

"Easy and fast to read. Delightful with its originality and at the level of the best fantasy novels in the market. PM Black debuts with The Solar Real: The Silver Slayer, a stunning fantasy novel with elemental powers, witches, dragons - we all love dragons - blood-sucking monsters and promises of more overpowered characters and astonishing fighting scenes. If you enjoy watching anime and anime-like shows, add The Solar Real to your TBR."

"The Solar Realm by PM Black is a fast-paced young adult space fantasy. I found the plot compelling as it involved treachery and danger all caused by a powerful man. I felt like I was reading the origin story of a super-champion. The battle scenes were flawlessly choreographed to display the powerful application of elemental magic. I was also horrified by the strange creatures working for the enemy and longed to learn more about their nature. This is a series using dramatic flourishes that creates lots of potential for continuing adventures."

"I loved this book! It intrigued me from the first page, and when a potentially evil subplot was revealed, I was hooked. The Solar Realm by PM Black is a science fiction fantasy filled with fierce female lead characters. One of my favorites is Empress Saltome. She is a strong and beautiful character with an innate sense of justice. I applaud Black for bringing such iconic female characters to life. Written from the first-person point-of-view, each of the main characters is given perspective and each point of view was clearly stated, making the story easy to follow. The story is written at a moderate pace and no corners have been cut when it comes to the novel’s setting or the introduction of new characters. I thoroughly enjoyed it and urge anyone who has a liking for strong female leads, fantasy, mystery, and magic to get a copy. I can't wait for more books in this series."

One of the best things about this novel is the storyline; it is gripping and swift. Written from several perspectives, and with a large number of characters, it features perfect cover art, is detailed, and gives insight into the novel’s characters. Extremely entertaining and a fast-paced read, PM Black's work lets readers see a handful of the characters' points of view. The Solar Realm is an excellent, well-rounded work of young adult fiction that would make a great television show or motion picture. Readers will see the incredible skill Black has in creating fantasy worlds after reading the first few pages of this fully realized and well-developed imaginary galaxy.

I immensely enjoyed the Solar Realm. It reminded me a bit of Star Wars but then with magic and more whimsical elements.

The book had a good concept; however, it sometimes felt a bit slow, but the pace did pick up. When the pace does pick up, the tension is high and exciting to read. The world-building was good, however a bit chunky at times nonetheless; without it wouldn't have been so immersive.
I liked the characters, and you could clearly see the development of them throughout the book, which is interesting to read. The multiple points of view were very enjoyable, and you could distinctly pull apart who was who and made sure each of the characters was developed equally to some level.
I also really enjoyed the dragons since, let's be honest, who does like dragons?

An enchanting multiple POV world that will keep you on your toes and engaged. Some may find the MPOVs to be challenging, stick with the story. This is a world of dreams and threats. The main character has to face her destiny and be prepared to fight any threats that oppose this. It is the first of the series, be sure to prepare your minds accordingly.

I don't even know how to start this review. I was really surprised. At first I was having a hard time getting hooked on the reading because you are introduced to a whole new world and plenty of characters without much detail, so at first you have a hard time understanding what is going on.
Once you get deeper into the book, you discover more about both of them. Sometimes it didn't help much that there were so many points of view, but the more you read, the better it got. I genuinely love the multiple POVs from different characters, and in this story, it was not an exception.
I also loved that from the beginning, it has a very fast pace, which makes you want to keep reading, but this is maintained throughout the reading. The amount of emotions that it generated me throughout the reading were too many.
Also the ending was amazing and in an inconclusive way so it makes you want to continue reading about the story and what the characters will do next.
Thanks to Netgalley, the publisher and the author for providing me with a digital copy of the book :)

I did love reading it and became engrossed in the story.
I'd suggest this book to those who appreciate space opera combined with magic, adventure novels with strong female heroines battling mostly against power-hungry males out to bring them down, and scientific fantasy since it has a wonderful balance of the two genres.
