I think the best way to describe Courtney Peppernell’s writing is cozy. It feels like sitting by a fire, drinking tea, and reading a fairytale. That fairytale feeling is especially prominent in this collection. The illustrations remind me of books I read as a child, and Peppernell’s metaphors are straightforward and familiar without feeling overused. While this style is not my preferred poetry style, I think this collection is a great introduction into the world of poetry, especially for those who consider the genre to be intimidating and inaccessible. A quick and heartwarming read.

What an enchanting little poem book. This book reads really well and the authors writing style was enjoyable. I really fond of this particular poetry book because it was still meaningful and at the same time keep me engaged. Some of it is in the readers perspective so for me, that really helped to relate. The other parts were in 3rd person and that helped with being able to see the bigger picture and realizing it’s important to be kind to yourself and things will always get better. Also, I really appreciated the pictures in the book, it really sparked my inner child and made my feelings towards the book even more magical!

Thank you for letting me read this arc!!
I’m not usually a poetry reader but this was beautiful. Occasionally I like to send poems to people who matter to me. I sent a few. I definitely had favorites.

Really touching poetry! Read Pillow Thoughts a long time ago and loved it, but this is even better! It helps you to gain a new perspective, for me it was for losing someone. Some of the poems hit close to home and really got me in my feelings. I will recommend this poetry book to everyone close going through their healing process.

Once again, another banger by Peppernell. Every page was a piece of art. I resonated with a lot of the poems and spent a later night with a cup of tea and this beautiful writing

I can never judge poetry because it's based on someone's experiences that I have not lived, but I related to a lot of what Peppernell was saying. The poetry throughout was stunning and the imagery of the little plant gets me every time.
This is my favourite Courtney Peppernell yet. So beautiful. I especially loved the whimsical magical realism elements.
Poetry that just touches your heart yet still is digestible by all audiences.
From the time, I picked this up
I kept turning pages
My tea went cold
My day went on
Yet I still kept reading
Turning every page
Understanding every text
Till I felt it all
A poetry collection
That got my heart fluttering
As if it had been put into the book
That was how good this book was
