This was a wonderful little book. I have enjoyed the Grammar Girl's website for a while, but this provides one more bit of good information in a concise style.

As an English teacher (grades 6-12) I’ve followed Grammar Girl for years and have consulted her site for grammar questions. Thus, when I saw this book up for offer, I quickly grabbed it.
This is a great resource that I will definitely be incorporating into my daily lessons and recommending the book for my students to purchase for themselves.
I like the nugget-sized bites, the variety of topics chosen, and the inclusion of an index to quickly find specific topics.
This book’s a winner!
Thank you to NetGalley and St. Martin’s Press for the ARC in exchange for my honest opinions.

I loved this book. The advice is practical and not the least bit pedantic or dogmatic. Fogarty gives her own opinions, backed up by various style guides. Fogarty has a great sense of humor that comes through very clearly in the book. Kudos as well to illustrator Arnie Ten for some great work. Illustrations in a book on writing? Definitely and I loved them. Overall this is a great book on writing. Thank you Netgalley and St. Martin's Griffin for sending this book for review consideration. All opinions are my own.

This book is full of all the fun and modern tips you would expect from the grammar girl. While I read it straight through and got some great reminders, I plan the reread how it’s intended. Having one tip a day is easier to absorb. I’m going to buy a copy for my son too. It also makes a great reference book.

This is a fun, easy to understand, quick guide to grammar. I would love to see this as a daily calendar type thing, where you can pull off each day. For whatever reason, I was expecting this to be a little more humorous or light, but I still am enjoying going through it (and learning a lot!).

The Grammar Daily by Mignon Fogarty is a must have.. I have referred to Mignon Fogarty’s knowledge countless times when writing a letter or an email. I love the book layout, the tips, and all the examples. The reader gets to decide whether to read it daily (that would be me) or use it as a reference. Reading Grammar Daily will help you learn and apply something new every day for 52 weeks. The best part is there are quizzes, word searches and scrambles to test the knowledge learned. I will purchase a hard copy.
Thank you Netgalley for the ARC.

I am really enjoying this book!
It offers up grammar rules in bite-sized doses (one a day) so is easily accessible. There's humour, it's easy to read, good explanations, and little quizzes.
I didn't sit down and read the whole thing through in one go because that is not how it is designed. I'm continuing to take my time to read through it and enjoy.
My one issue with the book is that some of the grammar rules imply that THIS IS HOW IT MUST BE. In fact, the English language is CONSTANTLY changing, and the author even acknowledges at the beginning that this is the case and that, unlike French, there is no committee that gets together and says "hErE aRe ThE rUlEs."
English has evolved so much over the centuries, and continues to evolve, and it can be okay to not follow the rules! If language is a way for a society to communicate its culture, history, values, etc., then it must adjust to reflect the culture at the time, instead of abiding by rules that reflect society of the past.
A bit of a digression there, but something to keep in mind if you check out this book. :)
Thanks to the publisher and NetGalley for the eARC; all thoughts are my own.
