Description

2024 NAPPA Award winner

A playful, rhyming book for kids ages 3-7 on how to send loving, kind thoughts to yourself and others to make the world a better place.

 Keep sharing your love
 from morning till night.
See the change you can make
with a love that shines bright.

Worried or sad, grateful or glad, you can send good wishes to yourself, others, and the whole world with your thoughts! Just repeat these simple phrases: “May you be protected and safe. May you feel happy and pleased. May your body be healthy, and may you live with ease.”

This book teaches young readers that even from far away, you can wish others happiness, good health, peace, and safety. Starting with the individual child and extending outward to the whole universe, the rhyming couplets and beautiful art carry the reader through the thoughtful process of extending love and kindness to yourself and all those around you. The book makes a great daily ritual to increase lovingkindness, and if a child is having a rough time or witnessing outside struggles, they can use the repeated phrases in the book to find peace and calm.

I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of "Share Your Love". All thoughts and opinions are my own.
I enjoyed that throughout the story, the idea of spreading love and well wishes is free and doesn't cost anything. In today's world, people are mean and kindness is free. It's important that we highlight we should be kind and think happy thoughts about everyone, even those who made us mad. Another thing I really enjoyed was that it discussed being kind to yourself. So often we worry about filling others up and letting ourselves become empty.
One thing that I would recommend is that the tune to the song is listed in the story, not just at the end in the author's note.

This is a great book for children to think about how to share love, how to calm, and the joys of being kind. I can see this in a lower elementary classroom and as a goodnight book for my own kids when they were younger. A very sweet story and beautiful illustrations.

Share Your Love is a beautifully illustrated book teaching young readers the importance of sending good thoughts out into the world: to yourself, to the people you love, to all you meet, even to people who make you angry or sad sometimes. Sending positive thoughts and wishing people well (and always remembering to include yourself in that!) is a wonderful lesson that all children should learn! Great for home, schools, or libraries! ❤️

Thanks Netgalley and the publisher for the opportunity to review this advanced review copy (ARC) in exchange for my honest review on the book!
