This book has everything I could ever want as a beginner roller skater but also for people who have skated their whole life! I was very impressed by how much maintenance must occur to keep your skates secure and the level of commitment that goes into the sport! It is engaging all the way through and it makes for the perfect gift item for skaters and those that want to try something new and fun!

This was a very helpful guide on roller skates. It goes over all the parts of the skate, different kinds of wheels, maintenance, and some basic tricks you can learn. It was beautifully illustrated with simple and clear directions. If you are interested in roller skating, I highly recommend this book.

I am a life long ice and roller skater. My background is in artistic/figure skating, and this book is aimed more at recreational skaters, so I am probably not the intended audience.
However, the information contained in this book is useful and easy to read. It would be a good resource for anyone beginning their quad roller journey.
The illustrations are colorful and fun. Most of the illustrations of people are diverse women, though there are also a few males. I did not see any illustrations that were clearly intended to be older people or children. However, I believe this book is intended for adult skaters; not kids.
Overall, this book felt like promotional material. The company's logo was in most of the illustrations: on the skates and much of the gear. The logo was absent in illustrations where it would have been too small to clearly see. The company is the author, but according to the preface, multiple employees/staff contributed. They were not named. I did not like the sales pitch feeling of this book. It was blatant. A bit of subtilty would have been welcomed. It would have made the book seem more credible.
Thanks to the publisher and NetGalley for an ARC in exchange for an honest review.

Great for anyone who needs to know about roller skating! I read this book because I’m fairly new to the roller skating world. My fiancée does roller derby so I figured this book could help me understand skating better! We both love this book. My fiancé loves the section for skate maintenance. It’s a great book for skaters of all levels to brush up on their knowledge about skates and skating. I’m excited to try out some of the tips in this book when I go to the rink! I also have to give props to the adorable illustrations.
