I received this book as an ARC and YALLLL…… THIS BOOK……

I love that this book somewhat tackles a topic that is very relevant in todays world, and the way it was handled was realistic and I loved how it ended.

-Fake dating
-Workplace romance
-Touch her and Di* vibes
-He likes her to take control.

Possible triggers-
-Revenge P*rn
-Physical roughness
-Arson

I don’t normally love third person books because I feel some of the story gets a little lost but this was not the case here.

I had to pause and collect myself after some of the spicy scenes. The dress shop was *chefs kiss* Christopher is a sexy man 😍

This book was very well written. I will definitely be reading more from Jade.

Other reviews will be going up on Instagram and TIKTOK as well

Thank you Netgalley for providing me a copy of this book.

I loved this book! It was easy to read, funny, cute and predictable but in a good way. The spicy scenes were quite good and I loved that even though the book is rather short, it doesn't feel like it. I thought the pace was good, it was well described and the characters were lovely (apart from Jared obviously).

I want to end this review by a moment/quote in the book that made me smile and melted my heart: "I lied before, by the way. My favourite color is red"

I really enjoyed this! The spice in it was next level but I also thought the love interest was really sweet.

I liked the realism in some of the spicy scenes where there’s a mention of contraception, and even though the power plays are hot I liked that consent was at the forefront.

The suspense was fun too, Jared was a jerk.

true happiness and love. Church does an excellent job of conveying Charlotte's emotions through the writing, and readers will feel a deep connection to her.

Jade Church's writing style is impressive, and I particularly appreciated how she managed to keep the story unpredictable and engaging. I found the pacing to be just right throughout the book, and I loved the little twists and turns that kept me hooked. The chemistry between Charlotte and her love interest was electric, and the romantic scenes were well-written and poignant.

Overall, I would highly recommend Just a Temp of the Heart to anyone who enjoys contemporary romance novels. It's a heartwarming and thought-provoking novel that will leave you with a smile on your face and a newfound appreciation for the transformative power of love.

Tempt my heart is a fast paced easy read. The storyline is gripping with a slightly more elevated ‘motive’ to the romance than other contemporary romance books. At times it may feel too fast paced- maybe some more downtime with the couple outside of the bedroom would help us fully fall in love with them- but ultimately it doesn’t matter too much, you still root for them, and you still swoon hoping you will one day have a love like that.. just maybe with less stalker involvement.

Thank you, NetGalley and Jade Church for the ARC of Tempt My Heart in exchange for providing an honest review.

This is a devour-in-a-single-day book! It’s not life-altering or Pulitzer-winning, but it is exactly what you want out of a spicy contemporary romance.

Ali’s ex boyfriend is blackmailing her with a sex tape to get a secret scoop to her sexy, sweet boss’s partner’s wedding to socialite/businesswoman Rose Dalue. The ex is definitely unhinged, but it's a good thing that her boss, Christopher, is super rich, protective, and has been pining for Ali for as long as she has been for him. Enter the fake relationship. The fake part lasts for about a day before they realize that they’ve both been into each other forever and Christopher uses his many *assets* to help Ali take care of her ex problem.
There is a lot of reference to the couple from Church’s first book of the series In Too Deep, so if you are familiar with David Blake and Rose Duloe then you’ll love this one - but as it’s an interconnected standalone, you don’t have to have read In Too Deep to enjoy Tempt My Heart!

I was honestly not expecting this level of spice, and it was a nice change that Ali was the more domineering partner in the bedroom. The drama was high-level, but I’m not mad about it. The side characters were interesting enough that you know they could easily be next up in this Living in Cincy Series.

Fake dating with the boss? Yes please!

Pros-
*Christopher
*Protective MMC
*Look how well you're taking me
*Fake dating trope
*Christopher
*Good banter
*Likable (and hate-able) characters
*Christopher
*Fast paced
*Spicy
*Not sure if I've said it yet but Christopher.

Cons-
*Too short, could do with being an easy 100 pages longer.
*Because of the above the ending felt rushed.

Loved this and it was going to be 5 stars up until the last 20(ish) pages when things started hitting hyperspeed.

Easy quick read. I finished it in a day during my commute. I picked this book up for the fake dating and off limits trope made even better by the romantic suspense/she's in danger and needs saving trope. I was not left dissapointed because their chemistry is everything. Christopher is Christian Grey.

Tempt My Heart by Jade Church is a quick, easy read and is very enjoyable. It's a sequel to In Too Deep but can be read as a standalone. Although it isn't overly unique, it's definitely an entertaining workplace romance with a fun plot. This book has an exceptionally written villain and I found myself extremely angry on the main characters behalf. I found the romance to be very fast burn, which I didn't seem to mind in this instance.

Overall, I recommend giving this book a go if you're looking for something simple and fun.

Tempt My Heart jumped straight into the plot with so many tropes we know and love in romance books. We have fake dating, manipulative ex, touch her and die, guy fell first!

Ali and Christopher have serious chemistry from the first time they’re on page together.

Christopher is her boss. That means he’s way off limits, right? She thought so until her ex’s threats to expose a video of her unless she meets his demands throws them together in a race against time to protect herself and those she loves while trying to take him down.

True friendship, passion and love come together an a juicy mix with this story and I couldn’t get enough!

The chemistry and spice added something extra special to this already fab story.

Trigger Warnings: revenge p*rn, stalking, arson

I’ve been on a romance kick here lately, and this book scratched my itch!

Christopher is a babe. I really enjoyed getting see both Ali and Christopher disregard the fact that he’s her boss to stroke the flames that have always ignited between them. I did like the aspect of danger that was thrown in because it really displayed Christopher’s character and how he really feels about Ali.

It was difficult for me to immerse myself in this book in the beginning, but I’m glad I powered through because I ended up loving it.

I want to extend a huge thank you to NetGalley and Jade Church for giving me to opportunity to read and review this book!

Thank you to NetGalley and Jade Church for the ARC of Tempt My Heart in exchange for providing an honest review. (pub date 30th june)

In tempt my heart, Ali (short for Alison) battles her attraction to her boss and also her friend, Christopher. However, that is not her only problem. She is also facing troubles with her ex and the risk of getting blackmailed by him. As the deadline nears, she has to decide to risk betrayal or stop him with Christopher’s help.

I enjoyed the book and felt that it was engaging. The plot was interesting, and although done before, I enjoyed how the story jumped straight into the problem (her situation between her and her ex) instead of dragging it out, making it a fast-paced, quick and easy read. Another thing is how they did not have an insta-love or love build up, but when the story started, she already had an attraction with Christopher, which was great as it made the story shorter and easier to read.

I really enjoyed learning about the characters too. The characters had an interesting development, especially the main character. Alison used to be scared of her ex, but at the end of the story, she became stronger towards her ex and stood up for herself. I also loved how she went from hiding her feelings for her boss for fear that it would ruin their friendship to openly admitting her true feelings for him. Alison is a really great FMC and I definitely want to learn more about her.

I also adored the relationships she had. My favourite was definitely her relationship with her mother-checking in on her and how she openly admits to her the problems she’s been facing. And her relationship with her friends, how close they are and how they comfort and protect each other was really admirable.

And the smut scenes were INSANE, especially a certain scene. I loved the romance and the smut was so good, it was written really well. The romance aspect of the book was really captivating and the author struck a perfect balance between simplicity and depth.

The author also made the characters come to life through their distinct voices and mannerisms was commendable, making them feel authentic and relatable.

Overall, I really enjoyed reading this book as the characters development and relationships were well thought out. Although this is my first book I’m reading from the author, I would definitely be checking out other books by this author soon! Would definitely recommend if you're looking for a fast-paced and fun romance book.

This is my first time reading a book by Jade Church and it was so incredibly good!!! This book was fantastic from the beginning and had me immediately hooked. The whole romance thriller trope was addicting and I loved ever second of it. The characters were so enjoyable and entertaining and very funny. I loved the banter and the quick jokes between friends and the main povs. My expectations for this book were surpassed and I really wish I was able to read Jade’s first book In too Deep. So so good!! Thank you Jade and NetGalley for this arc!!

Ali has tried to keep things professional with her boss but when a man is that good looking, it's difficult. When her ex comes back to haunt her, she has no choice but to make a deal with Christopher that could ruin both of their lives.

This was a fun fake dating, workplace romance with some spice and suspense thrown in!

Book Review 📚

Tempt My Heart by Jade Church 4/5 ⭐

We're starting off strong - Alison has got the hots for someone who is COMPLETELY off limits, but is that stopping her? No, it absolutely is not. This is making her life as his PA very complicated. But just to make her life a bit more stressful, her ex-boyfriend is now blackmailing her! Poor woman, can't catch a break.

The story itself was very fast paced with a tonne of romance AND suspense. Throw in some flirting, some drama and some heartwarming moments - you've got a good book on your hands. It was impossible to put the book down just wanting to know what was gonna happen and wanting to skip pages to get there (don't worry I didn't do that). And to top it all off there was some extremely SPICY scenes! I live for this kind of book and I'm happy to say, I was not let down!

Characters - I'm happy to say Church definitely brought the characters to life with her writing style, that I couldn't fault a single thing about them. Alison (aka Ali) was likable from the beginning and there wasn't anything I would change. Christopher, he was a shocker, I lead to believe to acts a certain way and then BOOM change of character! But loved his dual personality, it definitely made him better in my books.

Thank you to NetGalley and BooksGoSocial for allowing me to read this ARC - this is an HONEST review from my own personal opinion.

This was a super easy, fast-paced read that is perfect for a weekend staycation! While this book is technically the second in the series, it can be read as a standalone. I have not read the first book in the series (yet), and I never felt lost or like I was missing information. I think it’s really cool that the author self-published this book, and I love that the she gives a content warning at the beginning. While this book isn’t a full-on Dark Romance, there are certainly some darker elements that some readers may choose to stay away from. If you like your books short and spicy with a touch of danger, this one’s for you!

I would like to thank NetGalley, BooksGoSocial, and Jade Church for a copy of this digital ARC in exchange for my honest review.

I have to be honest, I haven’t read the first book in the series, but after reading this, I definitely will. I was totally hooked from the first page. The tension kept me on edge throughout the whole book. I loved how Ali and Christopher’s relationship was built and how their love unfolded. I definitely recommend this book to those who love romance books with a bit of thrill in them.

Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for providing me a copy of the book.

I really enjoyed this book, the main reason it’s a 4 star and not a 5 for me is that it’s told in 3rd person and is only single POV. I love the characters and the lengths that Christopher would go for Alison. I loved the cameos from Rose and David and seeing Alison’s friend group! I can’t wait to read more Jade Church!

Ali finds herself contemplating resignation, when her paparazzo ex-boyfriend, Jared threatens to leak personal information on her, if she doesn’t provide photos from the most exclusive wedding of the year. Her reason for resigning is to avoid having to confront her boss, Christopher who is best friends with the groom. Ali has loved working with Christopher, who she is also attracted to.
The storyline was fast paced with plenty of dramas along the way. The chemistry between Christopher and Ali is intense, and made more so as Jared, finds ways to force Ali to act on his plan. Jared is definitely unlikeable, making Christopher easily the hero. An entertaining read.
I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book from NetGalley. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

"Forbidden Desires" is a captivating contemporary romance novel that explores the complexities of forbidden attraction and the power struggle between love and professional boundaries. With its enticing storyline and well-drawn characters, this book will keep you on the edge of your seat.

Ali, a determined and ambitious woman, finds herself constantly challenged by her irresistible boss, Christopher. Their forbidden attraction creates a tension that Ali struggles to resist, knowing that crossing that line could jeopardize her career and the trust of her closest friend. When Ali's paparazzo ex threatens her with a malicious ultimatum, she is forced to navigate a dangerous path, making deals that blur the lines between personal and professional.

Church skillfully builds the tension and chemistry between Ali and Christopher, making their internal struggle palpable. The push-and-pull dynamics of their relationship create moments of intense emotion and anticipation throughout the story. Readers will find themselves rooting for Ali as she wrestles with her desires and the consequences of her choices.

The plot unfolds at a steady pace, keeping readers engaged with a mix of suspense, romance, and unexpected twists. As the deadline approaches, the stakes rise, heightening the tension and adding to the emotional rollercoaster that Ali finds herself on. The author's ability to balance the romantic elements with a gripping plot is commendable, drawing readers deeper into the story.

While "Forbidden Desires" successfully explores the themes of love, loyalty, and moral dilemmas, there were moments where the portrayal of certain characters felt slightly one-dimensional. Additionally, some aspects of the plot could have been further developed to enhance the overall depth of the story. However, these minor shortcomings do not overshadow the overall enjoyment of the book.

In conclusion, "Forbidden Desires" by Jade Church is an engaging romance novel that delves into the complexities of forbidden love and the sacrifices one must make. With its well-developed characters, palpable chemistry, and a gripping plot, this book is an enjoyable read for fans of passionate and forbidden romances. While it may have a few minor drawbacks, it remains a compelling story that will leave readers yearning for more.

This was my first Jade Church book but they’ve been on my wishlist forever. Tempt My Heart had everything I love. Office romance, fake dating, public 🌶️🥵, a hot overprotective MMC (touch her and you die vibes) and it was so well written! I loved how Christopher was not the usual a-hole boss but was instead a love sick puppy boss who would do anything for Ali.

Tiny spoiler maybe but Ali has some dominant vibes when it comes to the 🌶️ stuff and I was so down for that! “Good boy” & “get on your knees and crawl to me” ☠️☠️☠️☠️ (swipe to read the scene)

I love books where the MC’s have an amazing group of friends they can call family and this book really brought that.

I’m excited to read more of her books now!

Tempt My Heart was an easy read and fast paced! It didn’t feel like the plot was dragging out and the amount of spice oh my!

"Are you sure? What if I suffocate you?" she said, hesitantly spreading her legs wider as he gazed up, hungrily.
"Then I'll die a happy man."

-Fake dating the boss
-Workplace romance
-Protective MMC (loved Christopher!)

Oh, this book!

First, I didn't know it was part of a series, so I read it as a stand-alone (BUT IT WORKED).
Second, I was hooked from the beginning and devoured this book in 2 days.
Third, THE SPICE! I did not expect the spice in this book, it was amazing! (Sometimes spice can be too cringy or TOO detailed but this was perfect)

I love the characters and the plot. The book is very well written. The only thing I hated was the 3rd person's POV, I feel like it disconnects a little BUT I really enjoyed this book.

Ali is being blackmailed by her paparazzo ex-boyfriend, Jared. He is threatening her unless she gets him photos of an exclusive wedding. The wedding which her boss, Christopher, is is best friends with the groom. Jared tells her to seduce her boss, but Ali loves her job and had become close with Christopher.

I really enjoyed this book! It was fast paced, easy to read, and a little bit spicy! I love a good fake dating and workplace romance trope, and this book did not disappoint!
I thought Ali and Christopher had great chemistry, and I couldn’t wait to find out how this was going to end!
I definitely recommend reading this book!

I almost gave up on this book. and i would have done so prematurely because i actually really enjoyed it.

I think i was going to give up on it because my brain thought it knew where this book was going to go and I wasn't feeling it. but I'm so glad i stuck with it because m brain was wrong.

The revenge porn plot was fantastic to read because it happens in real life and you cold feel the fear and stress and trauma it caused. the hatred i felt for Jared was palpable.

The thing I loved most about this book was that both Mc's knew what was going on with the whole 'i need to seduce you and im being blackmailed' scenario and it made for a fantastic crime fighting duo element. And they both actually liked each other and both actually discovered this early on and they didn't beat around the bush. breath of fresh air.

Tropes
- Workplace romance
- Boss/ Assistant
- Fake Dating
- Touch her and die
- 'Crawl to me' by her
- 'Good boy'
- Spicy / Praise
- The Dress Store scene 🥵

Alison was well aware that her attractive boss, Christopher was off-limits, she couldn't help but develop a crush on him, making it challenging to remain professional in her role as his assistant. To make matters worse, her ex-boyfriend blackmailed her, insisting that she leak exclusive photos from a well-known couple's wedding who had close ties to Christopher, or else he would expose her.

With a fast-moving story full of romantic suspense, I never lost interest. The plot's seamless pacing, infused with love, flirtatious exchanges, and heartwarming moments, was truly enjoyable.

Who would have guessed that the kind and caring Christopher would be a dirty talker? The spicy scenes were scorching hot, leading up to an action-packed climax before the characters found their happily ever after.
