Description

In terms of ice cream, The Will of The Strid is the vanilla flavour. Some people may think that I write this as a critic, but there are good and bad sides to the vanilla flavour. You’re not always in the mood to read some giant epic that requires 2 hours of notes and research to keep track of and follow. Sometimes, you just want a simple story, something familiar with likeable characters. That is exactly what The Will of The Strid is.
The writing style is perfectly serviceable without any needless flourish. The world, the magic system and the characters blend together to create an interesting world that I am sure will keep expanding.
On the other hand, many of the plot twists or reveals are highly predictable. It’s ok to foreshadow stuff, but I feel it was too heavy-handed in this volume.
Curious to see where the next volume will take us.

This was a great start to the Wells Of Fate series, it does a great job in making a unique fantasy realm and had characters were wonderfully done. I enjoyed how good the flow of the book was and that it left me wanting to read more in this series.

Kingsley Did me a favor by allowing me to review this book.
I maybe partial because I like the coming of age/finding out you have power and purpose trope. As long as it's well done, its usually emotionally stirring and a lot of fun to read.
The Will of the Strid was this for me! I immediately liked the main characters, well beyond abusive ones...
The adventure begins almost immediately and the magic while not entirely brand new, was awwe I spring because of the intellectual prose used to describe it.
The world opens up like a flower and we learn it's details as the story unfolds, instead of receiving an unstructured info dump.
Storn, Guthrie, ellowyn, Kindly old Aggodarthe make for a great book...

A well written, easy to digest fantasy suitable for those just starting out reading the genre.
The plot doesn't get too heavy or congested, just a good old traditional "young hero sets out saves the realm" type of story.
Storn is a likeable protagonist that can think for himself and his growth felt natural and satisfying to see after what he'd been through.
The plot becomes a bit predictable but the pacing and characters make up for that in being an enjoyable read!
