Description
This stunningly presented science book explains the facts of life by looking at sex and reproduction in mammal species. Through short, concise texts and warm, engaging illustrations, we learn about fertilisation, gestation, birth, breastfeeding and early parenting across the mammalian order.
Did you know that, unlike other mammals, whale calves are born tail first, so that the mother can push them to the surface to breathe as soon as they emerge? Or that echidnas do not have nipples? Their young lick milk that seeps from pores in their chests.
Easy to engage with for kids as young as four, this is a convenient, informative and enjoyable way of learning about babies and where they come from.

This is a nice introduction of the life cycle of humans and other mammals. It goes through reproduction, mating rituals, gestation, birth, nursing and protection of the young. This has sweet illustrations and is very well done. This would be a great book to read with your children.
This is a fun, educational book for young readers. The book is full of lots of great information about animals and their life cycles. The illustrations are colorful and engaging. My son enjoyed learning about animals he hadn’t heard of before. It was a catalyst for a great conversation with my young son.
This was a really great book! I love the focus on different types of animal reproduction in mammals. I liked that the book didn't shy away from big words or controversial topics.
This book goes through the reproductive process of many different types of mammals. It is certainly for older readers. I wish it had real pictures of the mammals instead of illustrations.
This book was all about the different ways animals reproduce. Kids will likely find this fascinating. There is a good explanation on each page.
Cute and informative book about stages of mammal reproduction, from mating, conception, gestation, to raising young. I enjoyed the small blurbs about all different experiences in the mammal family. I just wish the book was longer, as it introduced some higher level concepts that would be more suited for older readers with a longer attention span.
