Description

If you've been learning French for a while but find it challenging to overcome the hurdle of learning new vocabulary, then this book is specifically designed to help you.

This book will show you:

1. A short description of the bare-bones French grammar to help you get started with vocabulary learning.

2. A list of 1000 most commonly French used words, with definitions and real-life examples (in French and English).

3. For each entry word, as well as the words appeared in the example sentences, memorization tips and useful linguistic facts are introduced whenever it is possible.

With the method introduced in the book, you can learn French much faster than you believed. The reason is that, as an English speaker, there are many French words you already know.

For example, take a look at the following sentence:

Le restaurant offre une grande variété de délicieux desserts.

(The restaurant offers a wide variety of delicious desserts.)

While this example may be exaggerated, it effectively illustrates the point. In fact, the linguistic connection of French and English is deeper than you think. By establishing such connections, you can learn French more effectively. In this book, we will point out the French-English parallels (or contrasts) whenever this may be helpful.

In addition, we will point out both historical and linguistic facts when applicable. For example, did you know that "Argentina", a country in South America, is named after the same etymology source as "argent" (which means money, originally silver), due to the vast silver mines discovered by Spanish explorers in the region?

Or did you know that "Essais", which is the renowned work of Michel de Montaigne, a 16th-century French writer and philosopher, literally means "attempts"? It's fascinating to discover the underlying meanings of words and how they reflect the author's intentions.

If this method sounds interesting to you, grab a copy of the book and let's dive in!
