G.N. Kearney's "I Know it Was You" explores the depths of secrets and lies, meandering the shadowy corners of human nature in a gripping psychological thriller that will keep readers on the edge of their seats.

The story centers around Lauren, a woman who, after a traumatic assault, returns to her hometown, seeking a fresh start. Kearney conveys the emotional weight of Lauren's past, immersing readers in her struggles and her determination to overcome the darkness that haunts her. Lauren's character is beautifully crafted, allowing us to empathize with her pain and root for her to find healing and happiness.

As she settles into her new life, Lauren meets Kane, a charming security consultant. Their connection is immediate and intense, drawing us into a relationship that promises love, hope, and a brighter future. The chemistry between Lauren and Kane is palpable. Kearney's portrayal of their evolving relationship kept me engaged and invested in their journey.

The narrative takes a thrilling turn when Lauren discovers a hidden box in the attic, unleashing a Pandora's box of long-buried memories. The book's title, "I Know it Was You," takes on new meaning as secrets resurface and the tension escalates. Kearney weaves a web of suspense, leaving us eager to unravel the truth behind the ominous box and the secrets it holds.

Kearney created an atmosphere of relentless suspense and unease in this novel. The story's pacing is well-crafted, building steadily to keep readers guessing while maintaining a sense of urgency. Kearney has a knack for creating an environment that makes it easy for us to immerse ourselves in the storyline.

The characters are multi-dimensional -- layers are gradually peeled back as the story unfolds. Kearney unveils their flaws, vulnerabilities, and hidden motivations. They became relatable and intriguing. I found myself more apt to connect with the characters on a personal level, making the emotional impact of the story even more significant.

Kearney explores themes of trust, trauma, and the consequences of keeping secrets. The story challenged me to confront my own beliefs about human nature and the lengths people will go to protect themselves and their loved ones. The psychological elements in the book are executed with precision.

The book's intricate plot and relentless suspense made it impossible to put down. I am looking forward to reading more from the mind of G.N. Kearney.
