It actually was the first vampire novel I ever read and I have to say it was pretty good. I'm not such a vampire fan, which I didn't had high expectations but it really was better than I expected, especially because of the crime part, which was really exciting. I really hope there are other books of this series coming soon.
One thing I still have to say ,that I think it's funny how vampires always have different powers (like shimmering in the sun...) and I really liked this books' version

This was a great start to the Alius & Love series, it had everything that I was hoping for from the description. Jay Michael Night does a great job in writing this and made me care about the characters. It had a great story element going on and loved the supernatural elements.
