“Heart-searing, sensual, and life affirming.” ―EMILY HENRY, #1 New York Times bestselling author
An instant New York Times and USA Today bestseller, featured on The Today Show and CBS Mornings

Glamour: Best Books for Book Clubs

Soledad Barnes has her life all planned out. Because, of course, she does. She plans everything. She designs everything. She fixes everything. She’s a domestic goddess who's never met a party she couldn't host or a charge she couldn't lead. The one with all the answers and the perfect vinaigrette for that summer salad. But none of her varied talents can save her when catastrophe strikes, and the life she built with the man who was supposed to be her forever, goes poof in a cloud of betrayal and disillusion.

But there is no time to pout or sulk, or even grieve the life she lost. She's too busy keeping a roof over her daughters' heads and food on the table. And in the process of saving them all, Soledad rediscovers herself. From the ashes of a life burned to the ground, something bold and new can rise.

But then an unlikely man enters the picture—the forbidden one, the one she shouldn't want but can't seem to resist. She's lost it all before and refuses to repeat her mistakes. Can she trust him? Can she trust herself?

After all she's lost . . .and found . . .can she be brave enough to make room for what could be?

I inhaled this book. I started reading it at 6pm and did not stop until I finished it at almost 3am. We’re first introduced to Soledad in the first book in this series “Before I Let Go” and as the reader, you already know something is up with Soledad’s husband. What I didn’t expect was the twist! Not to spoil anything, but I was pleasantly surprised there was more to his sketchy ass than just being basic sketchy. I really felt for Soledad and I very much appreciated how her role was celebrated and that she found intrinsic value in being a mother and ALL of the various hats she wears while in that role 24/7. Just because she stayed at home and did ALL THE THINGS didn’t mean she wasn’t also a feminist. Now, let’s talk about Judah. He’s my favorite hands down. AND WAIT — The realistic autistic representation not only in his twin sons, but also in him! I work within this population and the varied presentations and realistic experiences really shined through. But back to Judah. He didn’t play games. He knew what he wanted and he respected Soledad enough to give her the time she needed to grow. To forgive and love herself. It was so beautiful. This is one of the best book father, ex-husband, and partner I have ever read. The only qualm I had with this book was a personal one. It totally made sense within the book and was realistic, but I don’t like reading about influencers and social media. But like I said, that’s a personal preference.

This book was absolutely amazing! It is Kennedy Ryan so that is always expected and happens. This story with Soledad's growth with overcoming the betrayal and hurt of someone she thought was her forever at one point, was just amazing. Soledad's husband is one of the worst kind of awful and selfish men, and had me punching the air at every interaction he was in. Edward is trash. Now back to the positivity. The display of sisterhood, self love, self care, individualism, supreme motherhood, representation, culture and so many other great words blew me out the water. I loved how Soledad's friends supported and loved on her so much even when she didn't ask for it, but because they loved her and knew she needed it. Loved the little snippets we got with Yasmen and Josiah and seeing they are doing well. Judah is may favorite favorite favorite book boyfriend! He was so sweet and kind to Soledad, and very direct to the point about his feelings and what he wanted with her. Judah and his ex-wife Tremaine had the most understanding and pleasant coparenting relationship, and very supportive of one another as well as being a great team for their boys. I was so happy to learn about Judah's twin boys Adam and Aaron, as well as their journey on the autism spectrum. Not many know the scale of the autism spectrum, and Kennedy did a wonderful job displaying that with these characters. The conversation, chemistry, and spice between Judah and Soledad was just so juicy!!! It was nice to see Soledad overcome all the hurt she had experienced from her marriage and learn to trust Judah and be with him. Just an all around beautiful story! Cannot wait for the actually release so I can go and talk about every part of this story for an in-depth review. Thank you again Kennedy Ryan for your wonderful work! If I could give this 100 stars I would!

An absolute top read of the year for me! I saw so much of myself in Soledad and her journey to self-love and rediscovery as a woman and mother after a marriage gone so deeply wrong. And Judah?! No words to describe the perfection that was him as a husband, father, friend and lover. These two together found something in each other that they’d been missing, and turned it into a love that felt like passion and home rolled into one!

The way this broke me in two and put me back together and broke me again. The damn prologue had me in tears. Kennedy just knows what she be doing with her words. I can’t wait to get the physical and annotate.

THIS BOOK WAS EVERYTHING!! i don’t even know if i can properly rate it because it spoke to me in so many different ways 😭 but i loved it. I LOVED IT!!!

First of all Judah is … he is everything. Kennedy has this way of writing GROWN men. Men who can handle their business and handle these gorgeous women that Kennedy writes. The way Judah took care of Soledad and was patient with her when he knew she needed it the most is sincerely unmatched. I wish a Judah for everyone.

I just love the journey of finding oneself that Soledad went on. I feel like i saw so much of my own #datingmyself journey. I connected with her discovery that in order to give and receive love you have to love yourself. that’s first and foremost.

Kennedy always leaves me with a life lesson!! i love her
