"Farrah Rochon delivers the feel-good read of the summer." --Entertainment Weekly

Ashanti Wright is thrilled over the success of her doggie daycare, Barkingham Palace. But handling the business and taking care of her teen twin sisters is a lot. And now that the antics of her adorable French bulldog and poodle bestie are blowing up on social media, things are even more chaotic than usual. And they only get worse when the world’s worst dog hater shows up.

Thad Sims is not a dog person. He’s barely a person’s person. But after his grandmother is transferred to a senior living facility that doesn’t accept pets, the former army officer agrees to care for her annoying standard poodle, and his first move is taking Puddin’ out of daycare.

Now Ashanti’s beloved Duchess is bereft of her companion, social media is outraged, and Ashanti’s business is hanging in the balance. Her only option is to make nice with the surly, sexy Thad at all costs. But it’s gonna take a tiara-wearing Frenchie, a well-dressed poodle, and a whole lotta treats to teach these humans a few new tricks about falling in love.

Pardon My Frenchie was such a cute read! I really enjoyed reading about a heroine who was a doggie daycare owner (unique!) and also someone who was super passionate about what she does. I loved that the pups were such a central character as well! I thought that the spice was pretty good, and the romance progressed nicely. I also really liked that in the end, she didn’t “have it all”, but that was acceptable and actually preferred. Overall, 4 stars.

Pardon My Frenchie might be the cutest book I’ve read this year.

Ashanti is the owner of a doggie daycare, and her dog is in love with Thad’s grandmother’s dog. Ashanti and Thad start off on the wrong paw (ha sorry not sorry) but when their dogs’ cute relationship goes viral, they have to spend more time together.

I really loved this book! It was light and fun and a super fast read (I finished it in a weekend which is rare for me!). Ashanti and Thad have such a sweet relationship with their banter and eventual reluctant friendship and relationship. I feel like this will be great for romcom fans! If you like Alexa Martin, Ali Hazelwood, Etta Easton, or Seressia Glass, I think you’ll like this one, too!

I received an advanced copy for review.
A huge thank you to Netgalley, Forever|Grand Central Publishing, and Farrah Rochon for the ARC.

Ms. Rochon, I don’t know if you have plans for Von’s book, but I would LOVE to read more about him!

PARDON MY FRENCHIE is an absolutely adorable novel about ashanti, the owner of a doggy daycare, who finds herself in the spotlight when her frenchie, duchess, goes viral due to her friendship with her poodle bestie. ashanti finds herself needing to work with the infuriatingly attractive thad, puddin's grumpy new caretaker. their chemistry is as palpable as their disdain for each other, but with their dogs as up and coming social media stars, they have no choice but to spend time together. i had the best time reading about ashanti, thad and their adorable pups and i couldn't recommend this book enough.

read if you like:
- grumpy/sunshine
- lots of adorable puppies
- rivals to lovers
- forced proximity

thanks to netgalley and forever for the advanced copy! PARDON MY FRENCHIE comes out june 4th.

This was a super cute, fluffy romance. This is definitely a slow burn so be prepared! I did enjoy watching the relationship between Ashanti and Thad develop across the book (especially when they didn't get off on the best foot!). I also really appreciated that the third act conflict wasn't the typical breakup situation (the conflict was external to their relationship). Overall, this is a great pick if you're in the mood for something light.

** I received an e-ARC from NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.

Oh my gosh. I have laughed until I cried and shed a few tears of sadness as well. This book is perfect for dog lovers. The true stars of the show are a French bulldog, Duchess, and a poodle named Puddin'. I fell in love with these two four-legged characters from the beginning pages.

Ashanti Wright has a doggie daycare named Barkingham Palace. She has built quite a successful business in the doggie daycare realm, but her homemade dog treats are about to put her on the map. Ashanti has not had an easy life. She lost her parents years ago, and she is now raising her twin sisters who are sixteen years of age. Now she wants to expand the business so that she can send her sisters to college debt-free. Ashanti is a true dog lover, and she is about to meet her polar opposite.

Thad Sims is former military, and has no use for dogs, especially a fluffy dog named Puddin'. However, out of respect and love for his grandmother he has agreed to care for Puddin' while she rehabilitates after taking a fall. He comes by to pick up Puddin' and inform Ashanti that Puddin' will no longer be staying in doggie daycare. He does expect the firestorm that is named Ashanti. This military man is about to be put in his place like never before.

I loved their first meeting. This was definitely a grumpy vs. sunshine romance. Even as the verbal jabs were being spit out at each other, you could sense the electricity and underlying chemistry between these two.

When the cameras at the daycare catch the sweet antics between Puddin' and Duchess, Barkingham Palace is suddenly on the map. Thad and Ashanti will have to learn to tolerate each other, while denying their attraction for each other.

This was a delightful book to read merely because of the dog stars, but the rest of the story just completed the experience for me. Ashanti's willingness to do whatever was best for her sisters was so touching. She did not consider raising her sisters as a burden or chore, but a blessing. Thad just needed someone to chip away at that icy exterior to get to his heart. He had a good heart as you will see the new business he is starting. I will not share. You will have to read the book to find out.

Dog lovers and romance lovers will enjoy reading this book.

Thank you to Forever Publishing and NetGalley for this ARC. I am leaving this review voluntarily.
