Massimo Franco (b. 1954) is a political commentator for the Corriere della Sera, where he writes a daily column. Before joining the Rome bureau of the leading Italian daily newspaper, he worked for the national Catholic daily Avvenire, as well as Il Giorno and Panorama as a special correspondent and analyst. Since 2002, he has served as a member of the International Institute for Strategic Studies (IISS) of London. His articles have been published in the Los Angeles Times, Congressional Quarterly, the IISS Quarterly, Survival, and the French Jesuits’ review Etudes. In 2011, he was a Vatican analyst for the Guardian’s opinion editorial section, Comment Is Free.
