Say “I do” to this sweet romance from bestselling author Amy Clipston, who “writes with warmth and heart” (RaeAnne Thayne). Dakota Jamison spends her days making brides’ dreams come true. But when will the time finally come for her own storybook ending?

Dakota thought she had left her dreams of happily-ever-after behind, along with the pain of a broken engagement to her high school sweetheart, Hudson. Now, as the proud owner of Fairytale Bridal Shop in the picturesque town of Flowering Grove, she’s built a life and a business on helping brides find their perfect dress for their own fairytale weddings. But running a small business is not for the faint of heart, and when her ex-fiancé unexpectedly returns to town with a mission—to put a stop to his sister’s wedding—Dakota’s problems go from bad to worse.

After selling his software company, he’s single, handsome, and rich, but an unexpected call from his baby sister has him flying down to his hometown, determined to protect Layla from yet another big mistake. I really enjoyed WITH THIS RING by AMY CLIPSTON. It is a romance novel with depth, in which we see misunderstandings, snobbery, stubbornness and the need to control, as Hudson Garrity comes back to his hometown to try and stop his younger sister Layla from marrying Shane Simpson, who he feels is not good enough for her……
Dakota Jamison, who broke up with Hudson seven years ago breaking both of their hearts, is shattered when he moves into an air bnb next door to her. She has started a bridal boutique in Flowering Grove and is providing the clothes for the wedding. When she is about to lose her business and her house, she realizes that she is just as stubborn as Hudson. Will the two of them get together or will he run away from his problems as he usually does?
I highly recommend With This Ring to anyone who enjoys a good romance.
I was given a free copy of the book by NetGalley from Thomas Nelson. The opinions in this rebiew are completely my own.

I am confident when I read a book by Amy Clipson it will be a heartfelt, clean romance. My favorites! Her books have loveable and unforgettable characters that stay with me long after the last page is turned.
Dakota broke off her engagement from her high school sweetheart when Hudson’s plan for the future didn’t coincide with hers. He was determined to head to New York, get a great job and make a lot of money. Dakota wanted to have a home and a family in their small hometown of Flowering Grove. Both ended up with a broken heart and denied the love they still felt for one another. Hudson goes off to New York where he is successful, and Dakota make a good life for herself in their hometown.
Seven years go by, and Dakota, still single is the proud owner of the Fairytale Bridal Shop in her hometown, helping brides plan their special day. She loves her work, however, is struggling with the business end of owing a business, especially when problems come up like leaky pipes.
Hudson, handsome, and wealthy from the sale of his software company in New York, and also single finds himself back in his hometown because of the upcoming wedding of his baby sister, Layla. He is determined to talk her out of getting married, citing numerous reasons, such as she is too young at age 23, and neither she nor her fiancé make nearly enough money. Hudson is already paying for the wedding, and when he offers to buy them a house, he totally offends his future brother in-law.
There are many twists and turns as this heartfelt, yet charming story progresses. New information comes to light as Hudson and Dakota develop somewhat of a friendship, questioning what caused their breakup to begin with.
I received a complimentary copy of this book. All opinions and comments are my own.

This was another tear-jerker (happy tears) and page-turner for me. I loved this book and related to the characters so much. Fans of Amy’s other recent book, “Finding You” will be pleasantly surprised to see some character cross-over to this novel. The character development is deep, and I felt like I got to know Dakota and Hudson as friends that I would keep up with in real life. I loved seeing their growth and self-awareness as they worked through processing grief, communicating and advocating for your own needs in relationships, and financial security and stability. I am hooked and can’t wait to read the author’s next novel. Thank you to #NetGalley and the publisher for the ARC.

*With This Ring* by Amy Clipston is a heartfelt story about the complexities of love and second chances. When Hudson returns home with the intention of stopping his sister's wedding, he unexpectedly runs into his ex-fiancée, stirring up unresolved emotions and reminding him of the love he never let go of. Clipston’s narrative deeply resonates, capturing the tension between past regrets and the hope for a renewed future, making it a poignant and personal read for anyone who believes in the power of love to heal and restore.

With This Ring takes place in Flowering Grove which is the same small town in North Carolina that is the setting for at least a couple of her previous books. This is a stand-alone book so not necessary to read previous books although previous characters are mentioned but not really any spoilers. This book has to be my favorite of hers so far maybe because I enjoy reading the second-chance troupe. Dakota is struggling to make her bridal gown business a success. Having her shop being flooded and the insurance refusing to pay doesn't help. She rarely dates. She has not had a serious relationship since she broke up with the love of her life seven years earlier. Her ex-fiance Hudson returns to the town to convince his baby sister not to get married. Hudson gained a successful career in New York City after leaving Flowering Grove. I thought Alex was a jerk most of the story but there was still that chemistry between him and Dakota. So many times in the story I thought they would never get together because there were so many obstacles but at the very ending and I mean the last few pages we get the ending we were hoping for.

I highly recommend this book. I can't wait for her to write another Flowering Grove book. I'm not a fan of Amish fiction but I am considering reading one of her Amish novel since I like her writing style.

This is the first novel by Amy Clipston that I have read, and she will be added to my list of favorite charming Christian fiction writers. If you love charming, standalone romantic fiction that is void of profanity and steamy scenes, you'll love Amy and you'll love this book.

The plot revolves around Dakota and Hudson - old high school sweethearts who unsuspectingly encounter each other when Hudson comes back to town to visit his sister. I loved the irony of the fact that Hudson's mission was to break up his sister's wedding, disproving of her relationship, and his ex, Dakota, was running a bridal shop with the mission to help create the fairytale wedding for Hudson's sister. The book kept my attention throughout, it was a quick read, and I'm happy to have read a sweet, lighthearted novel.

I do want to add, not a critique, but I normally really dislike character-perspective switches, I find it difficult to connect with characters when authors flip-flop (I'm looking at you, Stephanie Meyer, who was the first author that I encountered that did it so poorly...I still haven't found anyone that ever cared about Jacob's perspective...) Anyways.....Amy, on the other hand, did a fantastic job with it. Truly. I didn't feel disconnected from the story or characters. Amy formulated everything well, withholding just enough information to make the perspective switches make sense and keep the reader excited to get to the next chapter.

If you love clean, romantic fiction that reminds you of a good hallmark-style romance movie, that is appropriate to gift to a friend or daughter, this is a wonderful choice. I've added another Clipston novel, A View From Coral Cove, to my to-read list.

With This Ring
Amy Clipston

The setting is Flowering Grove, North Carolina. Dakota Jamison helps brides make their day perfect, she always dreamed of running Fairytale Bridal Shop. She doesn’t see herself ever marrying. At one time she was engaged to Hudson Garrity, but he left her in Flowering Grove to pursue his career in New York City. Dakota stays busy between the bridal shop and teaching roller skating lessons at the local rink.
Hudson started his own software company in New York City but now that he’s sold it, he isn’t sure what he should do. He’s met his goal in life; he’s made enough money to keep his little sister and their aunt comfortable for the rest of their lives. He returns to his hometown thinking he can ponder what lies ahead for him. His sister is getting married and needs his help planning the wedding that also puts him in the position of working with Dakota. As the wedding draws closer, Hudson remembers what he loved about Flowering Grove. He and Dakota can’t help but wonder what life could have been like if they had made different decisions.
This story is charming. Like real life the two main characters in this tale are not perfect. This is a second chance romance which isn’t my favorite romance genre however I enjoyed this book. Author Amy Clipston does a superb job in fleshing out the characters; she gives them realistic emotions, behaviors and actions. Both Hudson and Dakota are extremely stubborn. They know they are meant to be together and yet they each hesitate to admit it. I found myself rooting for them throughout this tale.

What a great second chance, grumpy/sunshine romance. I enjoyed this one, absolutely hallmark feel, would love to see the roller-skating scenes on the big screen. Well written, read in one sitting. Would absolutely re read in the future.

“With This Ring” is a real-to-life kind of story. Characters who feel like real people - flaws, strong points, emotions, and personalities. A plot that feels as if you are hearing from a friend about their life struggles and wins. I thoroughly enjoyed this book. The two main charcters, Dakota and Hudson, showed so much personal conflict and growth throughout the book. They offer the reader a chance to introspect a bit and maybe even to grow themselves. If you are looking for a good literary escape with a bit of introspection, then this book is a great choice.

I requested a copy of this book for review. The thoughts expressed here are wholly my own.

With This Ring by Amy Clipston is a contemporary Christian story. It is well written and easy to read. Hudson has sold his business so when his little sister gets engaged he flies home to be with her. He doesn’t expect to be reunited with Dakota.

This is such a good book to just get lost in. I enjoyed the story as it not only focused around Hudson and Dakota, but it also gave a look into Layla’s situation of planning a wedding and marrying the man of her dreams, even though Hudson didn’t approve. I enjoyed reading of how Hudson felt about providing for his sister and the struggles they go through because of it. I felt for Dakota as she was struggling with building the business of her dreams with the different issues that she has to face. Reading how Hudson changes through out the story is inspirational.

I voluntarily received a complimentary copy of this book, this is my honest review.

Miscommunication is not my favorite trope but Amy Clipston manages to overcome it and still write a book with characters that I absolutely love! I love how relatable her characters are and how even though they aren’t perfect, they’re perfect for each other. Dakota and Hudson had such a sweet story. I enjoyed watching them as they got and learned from the mistakes that they’d made in their relationship originally and how to avoid the same mistakes going forward. Hudson had a lot of trauma from his past that he had been running from but ultimately learned that if you don’t deal with your past, it will often interfere with your present happiness. Dakota had to learn how to ask for help and I truly understand how difficult that is! She also had to learn how to express what she’s really feeling. Amy truly handled the initial awkwardness that happens when you unexpectedly run into an ex that you have unresolved issues with. It was sweet watching them remember how good their relationship had been and start to move towards being fully again. I loved seeing Hudson heal his relationship with his sister. I definitely love the small town feel of Flowering Grove and all of its residents. I want to live in Flowering Grove! I will need more books set here and in Coral Cove please.

Dakota Jamison has achieved her dream of owning a Bridal shop. She loves helping Brides find the right dress for their special day. Dakota, however, feels like she will never have a special day for herself. Hudson Garrity has made a new life. One that is finally able to provide not only for him but for his aunt and younger sister. When his sister calls to tell him she is getting married, Hudson rushes back to stop the wedding. Running into his ex, Dakota, was not in the cards. He broke her heart all those years ago. As they start spending more and more time together, each begins to wonder what really drove them apart. Were their choices really the best?
Second chance romance novels can be either a hit or a miss. Amy Clipston does a wonderful job with this novel. She brings out the raw emotions often associated with a hard break up. I look forward to more. I received a copy through Netgalley. A review was not requied.

Finding You by Amy Clipston
A Sweet Contemporary Romance
Both of them want a relationship—but is beginning it a big mistake?

On the outside, twenty-seven-year-old Darcy Larsen is a pretty, put-together professional—but inside she’s falling apart. Eighteen months ago, she lost her fiancé in an accident she still blames herself for. After a successful transplant, her kidney disease seems to be in check, but she worries that her future children—if she has any—will also suffer from the same condition. And she’s overcome with indecision about finding her birth mother, discovering potentially devastating information, and hurting her adoptive parents.

Mechanic Carter Donovan seems to have everything going for him at first glance. Stunning good looks. A wicked sense of humor. And a heart of gold. But Carter’s seemingly perfect exterior hides a host of secrets. After a rough breakup and mounting medical bills from a medical emergency that left him drowning in debt, he doesn’t feel like the catch everyone says he is. Plus, he’s about to turn thirty—with no romantic prospects on the horizon.

When Darcy’s Lexus breaks down in her doctor’s parking lot, Carter appears on the scene to try to jump-start her car—and her heart. But despite their immediate connection right from the start, the two have perhaps too many obstacles to overcome. Carter questions if getting involved with Darcy will be his next big mistake. And Darcy wonders if she can ever move past her grief and guilt to embrace the gift of Happily Ever After that’s dangling in front of her.
This is Darcy Larsen and Carter Donovan's story.
Your labwork looks fantastic, Darcy.” Dr. Mona Reyes smiled
and sank down onto the round rolling stool across from the
exam table. “I can’t believe it’s been two years since your transplant.
Your kidney numbers are perfect.”
Darcy forced her lips into a smile and hugged her arms over her
green shirt. “Time has flown,” she said.
Turning, she found a man peering in her window.
“Sorry.” He lifted his hand. “I didn’t mean to scare you.” He
pointed toward the hood of her car. “Need some help?”
She pushed her door open. “It won’t start.”
“I heard the clicks.” He grinned, and she couldn’t help but notice how handsome he was.
The man lifted his eyebrows and nodded toward the hood of the
car. “Sounds like a dead battery. I can jump it for you.”
“Thank you, but I don’t have
jumper cables.”
“You’re in luck. I always carry a set just in case.”
“I’m Carter, by the way.”
“Darcy.”
I recommend this book.
Finding You by Amy Clipston is a 5 star book.

Amy Clipton gives us another sweet romance. Broken dreams of a past love, Hudson, and now owner of a Bridal Salon that is having issues with the building, Dakota wonders If she can continue with her small business.

Suddenly, Hudson appears in town as his sister is planning to get married. Hudson, who is a billionaire after starting his own software company, has always felt he is the one to care for his sister and doesn’t think she should get married and wants to stop the wedding. Many family and relational issues arise while he is at home. When he runs into Dakota he’s not sure what he feels now.

You will enjoy reading this book to see how all the different issues end up being solved. This is a quick read that I would recommend to anyone who enjoys a sweet romance.

I received an arc from NetGalley and this is my honest opinion.

This book is a second chance romance filled with lots of tension and lessons to be learned by all. Dakota is a struggling business owner in her hometown and in walks Hudson back to town. Hudson is a well respected and rich business man who seems to intimidate those close to him with his money and stubborn opinions.

Although he is back for a good reason Hudson finds himself struggling with family and relationship issues but he learns a heartwarming lesson in the end. Will his turnaround be in time to save probably one of the most important relationships of his lifetime? 4.5 stars

Amy Clipston's "With This Ring" is a touching and poignant story that delves into themes of love, loss, faith, and second chances. As part of her popular Amish fiction series, this novel stands out with its beautifully crafted characters and deeply resonant narrative that captures the essence of Amish life and the universal struggle of dealing with grief and finding hope.

The story revolves around Sarah Yoder, a young Amish widow who has been living with the pain of losing her beloved husband, Jacob, in a tragic accident. Consumed by her sorrow, Sarah has withdrawn from her community and her faith, finding it difficult to envision a future without Jacob. Her days are filled with routine tasks, and her heart remains shrouded in the past.

Enter Matthew Glick, a kind and compassionate man who has admired Sarah from afar. Matthew has his own scars and losses, but he harbors a deep hope that he can help Sarah heal and perhaps, one day, win her heart. His persistent kindness and patience become a beacon of light for Sarah, slowly drawing her out of her shell. However, their path to love is not an easy one. Sarah's loyalty to Jacob's memory and her fear of moving on create emotional hurdles that both must navigate.

Clipston’s portrayal of the Amish community is both authentic and respectful. She captures the simplicity and beauty of Amish life, where faith, family, and community are intertwined. The setting serves as a serene backdrop for the story, providing a contrast to the inner turmoil faced by the characters.

The character development in "With This Ring" is noteworthy. Sarah's journey from grief to healing is depicted with sensitivity and realism. Clipston delves into the complexities of Sarah's emotions, allowing readers to feel her pain, confusion, and eventual hope. Matthew’s character is equally well-developed. His unwavering support and quiet strength make him a compelling and endearing hero. The secondary characters, including Sarah's family and friends, add depth to the story, each contributing to Sarah's journey in meaningful ways.

One of the novel’s strengths is its exploration of faith and its role in healing. Sarah’s struggle with her faith is portrayed honestly, without sugar-coating the difficulty of maintaining belief in the face of profound loss. Matthew’s faith, in contrast, remains steadfast, serving as a guiding force for both of them. Clipston’s handling of this theme is nuanced, offering readers a thoughtful reflection on the power of faith and community support in overcoming life’s challenges.

Clipston’s writing style is engaging and heartfelt. She has a talent for creating vivid descriptions and crafting dialogue that feels natural and true to the characters. The pacing of the novel is well-balanced, allowing for moments of introspection as well as forward momentum in the plot. The love story between Sarah and Matthew unfolds gradually, with a focus on emotional intimacy and mutual respect.

"With This Ring" is more than just a romance; it’s a story about resilience and the courage to embrace a new beginning. It’s about finding light in the darkest of times and learning to trust in the possibility of happiness after heartbreak. Readers who enjoy Amish fiction, or simply love a well-told story about love and redemption, will find much to appreciate in this novel.

"With This Ring" by Amy Clipston is a beautifully written and emotionally charged novel that will resonate with readers long after they turn the last page. Clipston has created a touching and inspirational story that speaks to the heart, making it a must-read for fans of her work and newcomers alike.

Thank you to NetGalley and Thomas Nelson Fiction for a temporary e-ARC in exchange for my honest review.

This is another good read by Amy Clipston. Dakota and Hudson have been a couple since high school with plans to marry. When Hudson leaves for a career in New York, they break up. Now, 7 years later, Hudson is back in town for his sister's wedding. Dakota owns the bridal shop in town and is hired by Hudson's sister Layla to remake her mother's wedding dress to wear on her wedding day. Their mom passed when Layla was a child. Hudson and Dakota still have feelings for one another. There was no closure when they broke up. They have a lot of obstacles to overcome before they could possibly reunite. Dakota Jamison owns Fairytale Bridal Shop in Flowering Grove, North Carolina. Despite her insurmountable challenges and the fact that she’s been nursing a broken heart for seven years, she’s determined to make things work. Hudson Garrity left Flowering Grove to pursue a career in New York. When his sister's upcoming wedding coincides with the sale of his company, he tells his business partner he’s going back home for three months before they start their next venture. Hudson soon discovers that the Airbnb is next door to Dakota, the woman who called off their engagement seven years earlier and ended his hope for love.

This book had me hooked from the start, with its charming small-town setting, a bridal shop, a roller rink, and Dakota’s love for both. The fact that Dakota and Hudson were feeling the same way about the break-up seven years later, was intriguing I kept asking myself, “Why are they not together?”

I was drawn to Dakota’s personality, straight away. I mean, any character who roller skates for fun, has the heart of this roller girl. Hudson was harder to figure out. His need to control everything around him while at the same time having a very loving heart smacked of childhood trauma. I wanted to love him and shout at him to just let it go all at the same time.

There is so much chemistry between Dakota and Hudson but they both fought it. Living in the past was keeping them in some sort of odd limbo. Hudson’s sister and aunt, along with Dakota’s friends and family, all had different opinions about what should or shouldn’t be happening between the two.

This book is everything a contemporary romance should be. Fun, sweet, and melt-your-heart good. Amy Clipston fans as well as those who enjoy small-town romance with true-to-life questions and happy endings will not be able to put this down.

With This Ring is the first book I’ve read by Amy Clipston. This book is a sweet smalltown romance novel that tugs at your heartstrings.

Dakota Jamison is living out her dream running her own Bridal Shop in Flowering Grove. She always wanted to stay in her hometown, settle down, and start her own business. She also teaches roller skating at the rink. However, between her business and teaching lessons, it has left her to have little to no time to have a relationship. She is also still heartbroken over her past relationship not working out.

Hudson Garrity made his dreams a reality when he started his own software company in New York City. He wanted to make sure that he was successful enough to take care of his Aunt Trudy and his sister Layla. Now that he has enough money, he wants to come home for a while to regroup and figure out his next steps. As he returns home for his sister’s wedding, he finally has to come to terms with his past and figure out what he truly wants for his future.

Dakota and Hudson’s story is a true testament to never giving up on someone you love. Both Dakota and Hudson remind us how communication is very important in a relationship. The chemistry that they have for one another is undeniable. You can’t help but root for them from the beginning and hope that they will figure out their relationship. I especially loved how comfortable and vulnerable they were with one another.

Overall, I highly recommend this book! I think that it’s a heartfelt story of second chances, never giving up on your dreams, and fighting for what you matters most.

Hudson has been avoiding his hometown for years, ever since his fiance called off their engagement, but when his little sister announces she's getting married in three months to a man he considers completely unworthy of her, he comes home to stop the disaster he expects their marriage to be. But his plans to avoid Dakota and the memories of her rejection crash and burn when it turns out that she's making his sister's wedding dress - and happens to live next door to his Airbnb. Dakota's business is struggling and she's not going to turn away business, even to avoid the man who chose his business over her. But she's determined not to fall for him again. Unfortunately, she gradually realises she never got over him. But the problems that separated them in the first place are still there - and unless they finally address them, their second chance is doomed...

A delightful read, even if Hudson's attitude sometimes drove me up the wall! I really enjoyed getting to know both Hudson and Dakota, even though Hudson in particular had some hangups that I found annoying - but that made it all the better when others pulled him up on them, and ultimately he worked through them (at least somewhat). The secondary characters (like Dakota's niece) really add to the story, too, though none particularly stood out as needing their own story - which leaves the field open! Hudson and Dakota are a couple who clearly belong together, but there was so much between them getting in the way that it was satisfying to see them finally get their long-delayed happy ending. An enjoyable story, with plenty of heart - looking forward to more by the author! 4.5 stars.

Heatfelt

I greatly enjoyed With This Ring, as it is a very heartfelt, sweet romance that deeply touched my heart. It is the story of Dakota and Hudson, two very wounded people whose previous shattered relationship left them deeply wounded. However, what got them there is a matter of opinion as each one has a different opinion of how things went down. Those hurts and clouded memories bring much unpleasantness, anger, and sadness to their unexpected reunion. As they spend more time together, they each deal with buried memories that come to the surface and begin to bring a new light to their relationship. How they each do so is extremely heartfelt, and sent me on an emotional roller coaster that included feelings that fluctuated between the like and dislike of certain characters.

Dakota and Hudson's story is a sweet, clean story of healing, self-reflection, and the effects of misguided goals and lack of communication. But most importantly, it is a wonderful story of the power of forgiveness and love.
