Description
A blazing contemporary reimagining of the six wives of Henry VIII, exploring how you become the main character of your own life when you’ve been cast opposite the anointed star
What does it mean to love — and to leave — a Henry?
New Orleans, 1966. Eighteen-year-old Lina Aragon, reluctant Queen of Mardi Gras, dances with the local golden boy, unknowingly stepping onto the path that will rewrite her future from dutiful Catholic missionary to devoted wife.
New York, 1982. Anne, a headstrong ballerina, has a drink with a married real estate tycoon and embarks on the affair of a lifetime.
England, 2024. In a crumbling castle, reality TV producer Hannah Cleves orchestrates twelve women competing for one man’s affection. But her illicit romance with Katy Howard, a contestant, resurrects memories of her first love and evangelical youth in Mississippi.
Then there's hard-nosed Jane and end-of-life health aide Parker. Together they peel back the veneer of one “great man”. From first love to death bed, these six women orbit each other, their lives irrevocably altered by the gravitational pull of Henry... until they finally break free.

Henry is a beautifully character-driven novel that explores love, identity, and resilience with emotional honesty. Caroline Wray creates layered relationships and thoughtful character development that keep readers invested from beginning to end. The heartfelt storytelling and authentic emotional moments make this a memorable read.
Henry was one of my favorite reads. I absolutely loved it. I thought it was brilliant how Caroline Wray wove together different timelines and points of view without ever making the story feel confusing. Instead, each new perspective added another piece to the puzzle, making the overall picture even more satisfying.
What really impressed me was how naturally everything came together. The pacing kept me invested, the characters felt distinct, and every timeline served a purpose. Watching the connections slowly unfold made the story incredibly rewarding, and I found myself constantly wanting to read just one more chapter.
This is the kind of novel that trusts the reader and rewards your patience. It’s smart, emotionally engaging, and beautifully constructed. By the time everything clicked into place, I couldn’t help but admire how skillfully it had all been put together. It’s an absolute must-read, especially for fans of Tudor history. 📚👑✨
