This is a fun picture book that children will love to read. My library will definitely be buying this book. I can't wait to see children love it as much as I did!
It is a delightful and moving retelling of the Aesop fable, The Tortoise and the Hare, with many more creatures. I wouldn't say I like that the exercises aren't animal-specific, but my first graders got a surprising ending. It was a sweet story about friendship
Thank you to NetGalley, José Carlos Román, and the publisher for providing me with the electronic advance reader copy
An adorable and affecting spin on The Tortoise and the Hare: An Aesop Fable, including way more animals than I remember the original having.
My 2 complaints are 1) that the exercises the animals do aren't specific to the animals, a missed opportunity to me and 2) that it's unnecessarily wordy (without rhyming, if it rhymed I'd be more accepting).
{Thank you bunches to NetGalley, José Carlos Román and publisher for the eARC in exchange for my honest review!}
I received an ARC of this children's book from NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.
This is an adorable book. The story is fantastic and the pictures are very cute!
The Great Big Animal Race is a fun twist on a "rabbit and hare" type story. The animals are all preparing to race, but snail is sad because he always loses. I loved the solution that the animal pals came up with to cheer snail up. Super sweet book with great illustrations!
Thanks to Publisher Spotlight, NetGalley, and Jose Carlos Roman for the chance to read and review. My opinions are my own.
