Description

The brand new hilarious, emotional and thought-provoking book club read about twin sisters who make a bet to switch lives for a week, for fans of David Nicholls, Sophie Kinsella and Cecelia Ahern.

Two sisters. One Bet.

And a lifetime of secrets uncovered…

Morning TV’s favourite twin sisters, Alice and Edie, may share the screen, but that’s where their similarities end. Their viewpoints are far from identical, and whilst their on-air clashes keep viewers hooked, off-camera, their relationship is far from picture-perfect.

After a heated argument on live television threatens their jobs, the fiery duo make a bet: neither could last a week in the other’s shoes. Determined to prove each other wrong, they secretly swap lives — without telling a soul.

What starts as a battle of wills quickly spirals into chaos, as each sister discovers that the other's life is far more complicated than it seems. Between dodging awkward work situations, marital issues, and meddling in each other’s families, Alice and Edie’s rivalry turns from a competitive bet into an opportunity to help change each other’s lives for the better.

But will their relationship survive?

I just finished The Sister Switch by Charlotte Butterfield, and I am obsessed in the best possible way! You know that rare kind of book that makes you laugh out loud, swoon uncontrollably, and maybe rethink all your life choices because you’re that invested? Yeah, this is that book.

From page one, I was completely hooked on this delightful, chaotic, and ridiculously fun twin-swap adventure. The premise? Brilliant. The execution? Flawless. And the romance? A chef’s kiss combination of flirty banter, mistaken identities, and the kind of heart-melting moments that will have you grinning like an absolute fool.

Charlotte Butterfield knows how to write characters that feel like friends, humor that actually lands (I cackled multiple times), and romantic tension so perfectly built that I practically held my breath waiting for everything to unravel in the best possible way. The relationships—both romantic and sisterly—are warm, messy, and full of heart, making this story so much more than just a fun rom-com.

If you love laugh-out-loud moments, swoony romance, and a storyline that keeps you flipping pages at an unhealthy speed, then trust me—you need The Sister Switch in your life ASAP. Highly recommend, 10/10, no notes. 💖✨

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ (5/5—READ IT IMMEDIATELY!)

I am the oldest, with a brother and two stepbrothers!
Growing up as the only girl, l often wondered what it would be like to have a sister and a twin... maybe that's why The Sister Switch was such a fun read! It was fast-paced, filled with sibling drama, personal growth, and self-discovery. While I couldn't relate to the sister dynamic, I loved stepping into Alice and Edie's world and watching them navigate it LITTERALLY in each other's shoes.

this might be the funniest book i’ve read in 2025!

these two sides of the same coin twins are nothing alike, don’t get along, and switch places to get a taste of one another’s lives. the characters are so well crafted and it was easy to connect with them.

this is such a warm, easy read that I can see it appealing to a commercial audience. if you’re looking for something easy to read, warm and deeply funny, this is for you.

Thank you Netgalley for the advanced copy! My opinions are all my own.

So, as I'm an identical twin myself, I couldn't NOT request this book when I saw it first existed.

There are many things that people say to twins on a regular basis:
- I'm seeing double!!
- So do you feel it if the other one is in pain?
- It's always been a fantasy of mine... (too gross to type.)
- How do you know who is who? (Well I'm me and she's not... so...?)
- You guys should look exactly the same/You guys should look different! (replace with any aspect of ourselves, 'should' is heard a lot.)
- Any form of "weird" (You're twins?? That's so weird!. You went to the same university? That's so weird! etc.)
- Stand next to each other! (Proceeds to point out our differences/insecurities as if we're not right in front of them... e.g. 'You're chubbier than her', 'You've got that weird red mark there' etc.)
...
(God, I could go on forever)
...
- And the classic: Have you guys ever tried to prank people by swapping places? That would be SO FUNNY.

You know what, we did once. It was incredibly boring.

Spoiler: people confuse the two of you for your entire lives, including your own parents. So when the outcome of taking the time and effort to swap clothes, copy each other's slight difference in voice, and stand taller/shorter respectfully, is simply being called by the other's name instead of your own... it just feels like a regular Wednesday to me.

BUT this review isn't about my life, it's about this book!

I've been where Alice and Edie have been a couple of times, so distant and annoyed at my sister that I worried we wouldn't get through it - honestly the beginning of this book was hard to read it was so close to home. But even when they're at their worst, they still couldn't imagine not having the other in their life, which is so lovely and so like me and my sister.

I also really loved that the set up for the two swapping places was that it used to be what their mum made them do to 'see what it was like from the other perspective and have more empathy'. She seemed like a lovely mum.

All the dynamics between the characters were very well written, even with Danny (who I very much wanted to slap for most of the book) and the kids felt all like real people, even when they weren't really on the page for long and that's a great skill in writing. I found myself aww-ing and tutting out loud when reading, which is rare for me, I'm usually a silent reader, but this book just made me feel so engulfed in the worlds of Alice and Edie that I couldn't help but feel like everything happening was so real.

The only minor thing I suppose I didn't like would be how quickly some of the issues that I think are major get resolved. I mean, some of that must have been to show the difference between Alice's husband and Edie's partner, but even so that slightly bugged me.

But aside from that, this was a really well written true-to-life book about what it's like being a twin and managing to have space for both love and resentment for someone who you are so utterly close to. Give it a read if you've ever been curious about 'what it's like being a twin' (yes, another common question!) and if you just want a heart-warming cosy read.

This was such a good book. I loved the story and the writing so much. The characters were great and the story flowed smoothly. Will definitely read more books by this author in the future.

I expected to enjoy this as I have enjoyed other books by this author, and I did enjoy it very much…

Edie and Alice are identical twins, so identical that they can swap places.. This, they do, dress as each other for a short while. Except they both can’t help themselves from trying to fix the other twin’s life. They don’t tell anyone that they are switching, not even Seb, Edie’s partner, or Danny, Alice’s husband.

Edie is a very likeable character, and so is Alice when she wakes up to what’s going on in her life. Seb is the most adorable man ever, he’s perfect. Danny is the worst man ever, he’s as imperfect as they come.

This book is immensely fun, and it deals with some heavy issues as well, it isn’t frivolous.. You do slightly have to suspend disbelief that neither the children nor partner of each twin could tell that they had swapped. Only their dad was able to spot that they’d switched, and it was him that gave them the idea to do it. Danny probably wouldn’t notice Alice was different, but I’m sure Seb would, especially when “Edie” was acting out of character.. The author does use some creative ways to explain away how they could get away with it, so you can happily accept that nobody spotted their ruse.

I’d recommend this to anyone, it’s a really good book. One you can’t put down, which is exactly what you want.

As a girl who has 3 sisters who we all argue and bicker at times and do not understand each other or truly know each other on a deep level, I relate to this. Though Alice and Edie are twins, it made it even deeper. Some parts truly hit me while they were switched, and it made me think of my sisters and their lives differently. I'm not gonna lie, their dad Kenneth was remarkable and definitely one of my favorite characters in the story. Seb was also AMAZING, the best book husband!! I found it beautiful watching both sisters' character development throughout the story. I loved this, and it truly touched me at so many different moments!

I received this ARC from NetGalley and Avon Books to read/review. All of the statements above are my true opinions after fully reading this book.

This book made me laugh out loud. It's funny engaging and light hearted with some emotional parts.

A pair of identical twins who are nothing alike amd dont get on, switch places to learn what the others lives are like to see things from theor perspective.

The characters are created well with enough background so they build the story. I really disliked Danny, but I suppose we were supposed to. I liked the ending, It would have been better if it had a little more in the way of Danny getting what he deserved.

A warm funny easy read story that most people will enjoy. It's written well and kept me reading. I would recommend this book to read for a new perspective on life and how we don't always know what someone is going through.

I would like to thank Netgalley and the Publisher for the opportunity to read and give an honest review of this book.

From start to finish, this novel does not lose momentum and I could not put it down. The characters are so well rounded and relatable and the plot is funny and realistic. I did think that Danny and his parents could have been given a tiny bit of empathy - they are vey unsympathetic. This author is very talented and I loved this book.

I absolutely adored this book! I loved this book on sisters as I always wished I had a sister. It was so fun watching them sap but also heartwarming and fun as well. It came with slit of life lessons and grass isn’t always greener on the other side mentality. High recommended

The Sister Switch by Charlotte Butterfield is a delightful and thought-provoking book that blends humour, emotion, and family drama. It follows twin sisters Alice and Edie, who may look identical but are complete opposites in personality and outlook. Their fiery debates on their morning TV show keep audiences entertained, but behind the scenes, their relationship is far from harmonious.

After a particularly heated on-air clash threatens their careers, they make a bet—each is convinced that the other could never last a week in her shoes. Determined to prove each other wrong, they secretly swap lives without telling anyone. What starts as a light-hearted competition quickly turns into something much deeper as they navigate each other’s personal and professional struggles. From marital issues to awkward work dilemmas, both sisters discover that the other’s life is far more complicated than it seemed from the outside.

The book is full of funny, heartfelt moments as Alice and Edie meddle in each other’s lives, making changes they believe are for the best—without necessarily considering what is truly needed. But through the chaos, they learn valuable lessons about themselves, each other, and the importance of empathy. Their rivalry slowly shifts from a battle of wills to a chance for genuine growth and understanding.

Butterfield does a brilliant job of capturing sibling dynamics, making this a touching and entertaining read. The insights into each sister’s life are relatable, and readers will likely find themselves identifying with elements of both Alice and Edie. The book is perfect for fans of David Nicholls, Sophie Kinsella, and Cecelia Ahern, offering a fun yet meaningful exploration of family, identity, and self-discovery.

Two sisters, very opposite decide to switch lives. This book is cute, funny and very relatable!
Easy to read and follow along.
I’d definitely recommend if you like light hearted comedy novels

I devoured this in a day! A perfect light and funny read. The characterisation was great and the story was fun. If you like wife swap you’ll like this! Seems mad though that the only person who knew they were switching was their dad!

This was such a fun read!

Identical twin sisters who have grown up with polar opposite personalities - one laid back and live and let live, the other uptight and obsessively hoovering and dusting everything in sight. They both think their way of life is better than the others, so agree to have a life swap for a week or so, without telling their partners or children. They can't but interfere in the other sister's life, making changes that they deem better without stopping to think what might be best.

I loved the insights into each others' lives and the relationship between the two and I think I've taken a little something from each sister!

After a heated argument on live television threatens their jobs, the fiery duo make a neither could last a week in the other’s shoes. Determined to prove each other wrong, they secretly swap lives — without telling a soul.

I went into it thinking that I wouldn't enjoy it and surely their spouses and children wouldn't fall for their switch, but they did, and it made me realize how complacent we can become in our lives and not pay attention to what's going on.

Both Alice and Edie were relatable in their own ways and it was easy to find both of them likable, but I was uncomfortable at first with the whole switching husband's aspect of it. Once I got over that, I enjoyed the whole book and wanted more at the end. A Parent Trap kind of book for adults, in a way.

Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for this ARC in lieu of an honest review. All opinions are my own.

Having read and enjoyed Charlotte’s previous story The Second Chance, I had high hopes for this new book and what a treat it is. I’m often dubious of the words ‘hilarious and uplifting’ having read books before waiting for the said hilarious and uplifting parts only to end the book disappointed, but I really did find this story both hilarious and indeed, uplifting.

We meet identical twins Alice and Edie who have a weekly TV slot as ‘agony aunts’ on a morning show which viewers enjoy because of their constant bickering with opposite points of view. One morning after a particularly heated debate they find their jobs at risk and decide the only way to make a truce is to swap lives as a bet that the other couldn’t live in their shoes without being found out. Although identical in looks it becomes very apparent that they have almost exact opposite home lives and so starts a challenging and very funny journey.

I found many laugh out loud moments in this book, especially from quick witted Edie who is the seemingly laid back funny twin compared with Alice who is uptight and stressed. But as in real life, once you get past the surface that everyone else sees, you get the depth of the real person which shows the strengths and weaknesses that they harbour deep down. There are sad parts in the book as well as the funny parts which make this very relatable and appropriate to everyone. Very well written, I thoroughly enjoyed this story and found all characters interesting, including the children whose challenges were also captured well, especially the change they highlighted in their moods in Alice’s family when they were in the presence of their father Danny compared to when he was out. Really thought provoking in my opinion, even if a little sad! It may be a little far fetched to think they wouldn’t get found out straight away by their own partners (or at least Seb) but put that aside and just enjoy this real cracker of a book.

Highly recommended and big thanks to Jessie Whitehead at Avon and NetGalley for an early copy in return for an honest review.

Alice and Edie are identical twins, but far from identical in personality.

Alice, who has a huge instagram following, is basically a trad wife, though she's never quite described as such. Her life is devoted to running a perfect home and making the lives of her husband and children as easy as possible, ensuring none of them have to lift a finger for themselves. In the eyes of husband Danny, who has some frankly prehistoric ideas about gender roles (no son of his is ever setting foot in a kitchen), that's exactly how it should be.

Edie, on the other hand, is far more chaotic and laissez-faire. Her house is a tip and partner Seb and their two daughters can and do fend for themselves, while Edie works all the hours to keep them afloat financially. Her feminist principles are totally at odds with Alice's choice of lifestyle.

Both, of course, are horrified by each other's lives. But who's happier?

When their inability to see eye to eye starts causing more trouble than ever - including during the weekly breakfast TV slot where they're joint agony aunts - drastic measures are called for. They often pretended to be each other as children - why not see what life is like in the other's shoes for a while?

So begins the switch, known only to them.

It was hard to believe that the husbands didn't notice - well, maybe not in Danny's case - he's hardly ever there and barely notices Alice when he is. And kids tend to be pretty self-centred. But the attentive Seb surely wouldn't have been fooled. And identical as they are, there must be differences- hair, etc. It must take more than just switching clothes. But it's fine to suspend disbelief for a while!

This was loads of fun, with lots of awkward situations which highlight the difference between the sisters' lives. I loved the contrast between the two book clubs.

Edie doesn't know whether or not Danny's full name is Daniel, which seems an odd thing to not know about your brother-in-law - surely she was at the wedding? And I did take very mild exception to the portrayal of Fife as the possibly worst place on earth- my daughter's at uni there and loves it!

Five stars anyway for a super fun read.

This was such a fun book!!

Edie and Alice are brilliant characters. Alice is the quite uptight, 'proper' sister, the one who assumes the motherly role, looking after everyone, hosting Christmas etc. She has a schedule, the kids know where and when they should be; and Edie is the loud, brash, often rude sister., whose kids have rules of their own without the traditional "motherly" figure. They work so well individually but also off each other. I 100% identify with Alice, not so much Edie, but I think all readers will recognise themselves in the sisters in some way. They have problems and relationships that are universally known.

I'll be honest, I didn't like either Alice or Edie's family. They were so grating in different ways, but I just really didn't like them. They just seemed so wrong. They did have some shining moments, particularly towards the end, but I sort of stayed focussed on the main women.

I have always said I prefer character development over plot, and this book proves why. Yes there's a plot obviously, and it's a fine plot, but that wasn't what kept me interested. It's these two women who Charlotte has created and developed. They don't change into unrecognisable characters by the end, you still know the two separate women, but there have been changes and I think that just adds another level of depth to them.

I loved the dysfunctional family relationships. A lot of the time in fiction, families tend to be perfect, always friendly. But rarely is that ever the case in real life and I think Charlotte has depicted that just right. She's not over-egged the pudding, nor has she hidden from it.

It's funny but not over-the-top comedy, there are loving moments but not sickly sweet, and it's awkward but you never feel uncomfortable.

It's fast paced and zooms by. I wondered if it would take a while to get going, to get to know the two women and their dynamics and whatnot, but it's done very cleverly and so well that you're quickly into it, which obviously gives enough time to stretch out the actual swapping days.

I did question how comfortable I would be with the whole deceit thing, whether you could ever trust your partner again after something like this. But then I realised I was thinking too much about it and just enjoyed it for what it was.

I suppose there was one thing that kept bugging me. And I know it's a book, a fictional story, and I should just suspend belief for a few hours, which I did for the most part. But I couldn't stop thinking about how, surely someone would have noticed. It doesn't matter if you look the same, surely if you've been living with the same person for many years, and you have kids, they'd notice something. Because it takes more than just appearance and clothes to become another person. So yes, I accept that I should have just accepted it, which I did for the most part, but I did keep thinking it wouldn't be as easy as this. But that's just me thinking too much.

This is only my second of Charlotte's books and I really enjoyed it. It's a feel-good, uplifting story, but it doesn't go down the trashy, sickly sweet route, and doesn't hide away from more difficult moments. Charlotte has definitely become an author to keep an eye out for.

a fun lighthearted read with all of the sister drama and bickering! there were some incredibly funny moments throughout and you are left feeling attached to both sisters and their stories. pacing was a bit slow at times and the story definitely caters to an older audience as someone who is used to reading new adult. Definitely enjoyed the change up and think this book has amazing potential to do be a favorite of many!

This was a very enjoyable book. After reading The Second Chance last year for my book club which I loved, I thought I should read this one too. I'm so glad I did as its another brilliant book.

You can't really say much about this book or you will give it all away! It's about very different families and the lives they lead.

All I can say is I've been married for over 30 years and this book really makes you appreciate what you have!!

A very enjoyable read with some real laugh out load parts!

I was not expecting this book to be as good as it was, but it was absolutely brilliant. It was a very mature sister swap, serious in a lot of ways and very eye opening to how people live there lives differently. The different perspective was so good on both sides. Likable characters, great plot. Overall a fantastic, thought provoking book.

This book was such a fun, heartfelt and somewhat an emotional read. However bickering did get a tad too much - especially in the beginning 😅😂  the switching element was initially what made me curious about this book.. I loved the character development for the twins; their dad and Seb have got to be one of my favourite book characters when it comes to family bonds .. when I got to the swap it made me emotional because it felt like "self reflection " in a sense that you really don't know why someone is the way they are until you're in their shoes!

When twins Alice and Edie secretly swap places, each believes the other couldn’t handle their life for a week. But as the switch unfolds, they’re in for unexpected surprises as they not only navigate each other’s worlds, but also learn surprising truths about their own lives.

Such a sweet, fun read! Alice and Edie are identical twins though they couldn’t be more different if they tried. Edie is a proud feminist with a loving partner and two independent daughters. Alice runs her household and spends her day catering to her husband’s and children’s whims. They both appear on a popular weekly morning news segment. Their bickering is what keeps viewers glued to the screen but they take it too far one segment. With their relationship in shambles, they dare each other to switch places for a week to hopefully gain more empathy for one another…

Thank you to Avon Books UK and NetGalley for the opportunity to read a copy.

The Sister Switch by Charlotte Butterfield was such a unique and well written story!
This was truly a thought provoking and heartwarming read.
I was totally taken in and couldn’t wait to see how things would resolve.
A funny, emotional and thought-provoking story.

This is a hilarious, heartwarming, and thought-provoking story about a pair of twins, who, although look alike but couldn’t be more different than each other.

Alice and Edie agree to disagree on just about everything. Alice is a Stickler for rules while Edie is a carefree spirit. They were so different to each other that they were offered a slot in a TV show to showcase their contrasting views. When their relationship hits rock bottom, they make a daring bet: to swap lives and see who can last longer in the other’s world without getting caught. The catch was the winner quits the TV show. But what started as a bet slowly enlightens the sisters why their twin was the way they were.

I enjoyed reading this book and loved the twins. The children were adorable and Seb was such a green flag!

This book is a heartfelt celebration of sisterhood and family bonds—one you'll find yourself wanting to discuss with everyone you know.

I really enjoyed this story of sisterhood which made me laugh out loud several times. Warm, witty, funny and packed with love and great (mostly) likeable characters. The premise of switching intrigued me and I felt that the learning both sisters had about themselves and each other was just glorious. One to read for sure.

When identical twin sisters find they can no longer understand one another and begin to argue more than they can get along, drastic measures must be taken. The Edie and Alice make a bet that the other could live last a week in their shoes. What ensues is a story that packed a bigger punch then I expected.

As I started reading, I felt like I didn't much care for either sister, however as they swapped places and began to have their eyes opened to the experiences the other lived daily, I found I really came to care about both sisters. Each sister went into the experiment believing one thing, and came out realizing how important relationships, and each other in particular were to each other.

this is such a warming and heartfelt read. i was wondering how you would ever get away with or work the actual swap but i needn't have. it was handled perfectly and it never came up to my mind again.
it felt like we were somehow really getting to know the characters ourselves. so things we might once assume of both sisters if we had read a story of JUST them was suddenly knocked away because we now saw things from their side, or the others side and vice versa. and this is what the girls also managed. they havent the greatest of relationship. they are a clickbait pair on air yes, but off it there is so much angst between them. but then once swapped they suddenly see what the other is going through. and in doing so we do too. and it truly is the case of you never truly know what people are going through unless you are in their shoes. in this case we all get to step into the other sisters shoes. and so did they.
the other characters in the book were just as fabulous if not more so. they added golden sunshine to the book. the dad and Sebastian were characters written and portrayed to perfection.
this book just a wonderful read. and so much better than i could have imagined.

Thank you Avon books for inviting me to review The Sister Switch
The funniest book I’ve read in 2025 so far—The Sister Switch is pure feel-good chaos in the best possible way. From laugh-out-loud moments to swoony mistaken-identity romance, this twin-swap adventure is as charming as it is ridiculous (in all the right ways). Sure, you’ll need to suspend a bit of disbelief, but once you do, you're in for a wild, warmhearted ride full of flirty banter, sisterly mayhem, and scenes that will have you grinning like a fool. Charlotte Butterfield nails the balance between lighthearted fun and genuine emotion, crafting characters you’ll want to hug (or shake, depending on the chapter). It’s the perfect read to toss in your pool tote or carry-on, especially if you’ve got a fruity drink in hand and want something delightfully escapist. If you’re in the mood for something easy, funny, and full of heart—this is the one.

This is a warm, funny, and sharply observed novel about two very different sisters—uptight, organized Alice and chaotic, free-spirited Edie—who swap lives. The result is both entertaining and heartfelt, as each woman is forced to re-evaluate her choices, roles, and relationships.

The strength of the book lies in its well-developed characters. Alice and Edie are believable, flawed, and relatable, with a bond that shines through their differences. The story handles family dysfunction with realism and humor, offering a refreshing take on sisterhood and motherhood. While the central premise of the switch stretches believability—especially with partners and children involved—the emotional journey makes it worthwhile.

Fast-paced and filled with both wit and heart, this is a smart, engaging read perfect for fans of character-driven fiction.

The Sister Switch

This was a cute read, a freaky-Friday with a sister twist!

I liked having a fun, lighthearted read about something different!

Twin sisters, who are opposites in every way, decide to trade lives with each other. Prim and proper, over scheduled social media influencer Alice trades place with fun-loving, go with the flow, no structure Edie.

Their journey was fun to read! I reccomend!

This book was hilarious! This one hit the mark for me. It features two identical twin sisters who have virtually no understanding of the intricacies of each other's daily lives. They decide to switch places, and the results are more than either ever bargained for. The story also touches on some serious and thought-provoking topics, which could make it an interesting choice for a book club discussion. However, it isn't so serious that it prevents you from getting through it quickly. I loved it!

I loved this! Both main characters were easy to identify with, and I loved that they were twins, yet so different.

After I got over my own initial disappointment that there was no freaky Friday magic involved, I really got absorbed into the story. Alice is so easily identifiable, I recognised traits in myself, I could totally understand where she was coming from, and how over the years she had come to believe that she really was invisible and only there to serve. It was nice to see her switch with her sister and get a different taste of life, it was not only eye opening for Alice but for me too.

Edie thought her sister had it all, and loved to be super organised and in control, but during the swap she saw just how wrong she was, she saw her sister who was drowning and needed help. She also saw just how great her life was and how working all hours was meaning she was missing out on time with her girls and Seb. I loved her and Sebs relationship ( even though we get to see most of it while it’s Alice pretending to be Edie) they share so much, there is strong and pure, it helps Alice see just how little love she has in her life.

I loved this so much, especially when it’s only their dad who notices that they’ve switched, and he just happily goes along with it! Rock and roll dad!!

A fun, heartwarming read about twin sisters who swap lives on a dare—and uncover more than they bargained for. Packed with humor, chaos, and surprising emotional depth, this story blends family drama with feel-good charm. Perfect for fans of light fiction with heart.

An absolute gem! This is genuinely laugh out loud, clever and heartwarming all at the same time.

Identical twin sisters Edie and Alice just don’t see eye to eye, typical of siblings right? But as time goes on the twins relationship spirals downwards, is there anything they can do to save their relationship? Could some advice from their dad lead them to doing something they have previously done as children…….

As you read on, and delve into each sister’s lives, you will find yourself draw in. The characters become so real and you will be routing for them in different aspects of their lives.
It is well written and the characters develop well throughout, most of which you will come to care for.

I love the outcome. There were several ways I could see this going and the author chose the best. Not drawing things out or instigating more issues between the families, but bringing out the best in them.

Definitely a must read. I’ll be looking out for more from this author.

Edie and Alice are identical twins in their 40s with their respective families and very different lives. They have grown apart and resentful of their differences so they decide to switch lives, indefinitely! This isn’t new to them since their mom use to make them do it when they’ve gotten to the point of missing one another’s perspective.

This time around a lot is at stake with balancing kids, husbands, friends, jobs, homemaking, etc.

The book was plenty entertaining. At a certain point I just wanted them to switch back and move forward. But it wrapped up nicely. I would recommend

When I seen the title of this book I immediately went and read the description and just knew I had to read this one.

A set of twins swapping lives to spend some time in the other’s shoes, to see how each other’s lives work…yes that had me very intrigued and it captured my attention from the very first page.

Edie and Alice may be identical twins but they couldn’t be more different. Edie is loving life, she’s may have money issues but she has the most wonderful man and kids and loves her job. Alice is set in her ways, she likes things to be prim and proper. Her house, her job, her family, social media, everything. She likes it all a certain way and doesn’t understand how her twin could possibly live any other way.

When a disagreement ends with a swap suggestion the twins decide to do it. To live in each other’s shoes for at least a week to better understand each other. What could possibly go wrong, right?

The back and forth between the two and the constant bickering is REAL coming from a girl with 5 sisters, I KNOW. None of us truly understand the other so this story was really felt. Stepping into Alice and Edie’s shoes has been so much fun, getting to know their likes and dislikes, their family and all the little things they enjoy has been lovely.

Charlotte Butterfield gave us a beautiful story full of family dynamics. With strong fierce women and lovely side characters. This is my first read from this author but it definitely won’t be my last. The writing style was great and flowed so easily. I loved these sisters, very much so.

The Sister Switch was a fun and heartwarming read. A read that kept me hooked from beginning to end.

This was such a fun book to read. One of those books where you laugh so much people want to know what you are laughing about.

It's a twin story, a relationships story, a real life (in parts) story that I think anyone will relate to.

The literal example of walking a mile in someone elses shoes, and despite all the laughs, there's some real depth to it.

This was a treat! I adored every second. I definitely thought of Parent Trap a few times but this is the adult version. It was interesting to see the differences in the twins and see them navigate through each others shoes and evolve. This was a heart warmer and definitely had me shake out a few tears but some parts were dragged out for me when it came to overcoming personal dilemmas

Thank you to NetGalley and Avon Books UK for allowing me to read an ARC of The Sister Switch by Charlotte Butterfield, in exchange for my honest review.

I so much enjoyed reading this book! This was a charming and entertaining story with both enlightening and heartwarming moments, reminding us that there is a place for each of us in this world.

The characters were all realistic (yes, even Danny), and it was refreshing to see the sisters and their families grow.

We never really know what's happening in someone else's life, do we?

This was the second book of Charlotte Butterfield's I've read and I look forward to reading more.

While I’d argue this book leans more towards women’s fiction than romance, it was a delightfully entertaining story of walking a mile in someone else’s shoes. Alice and Edie are identical twins living completely opposite lifestyles. In a bid to prove themselves right, they bet that the other cannot survive her life and along the way they begin to understand each other better. I enjoyed the sisterly bickering and meddling as it reminded me of my own extended family. Above all, this book reminds us to not be so deeply entrenched in our own point of view that we cannot empathize with someone else.

This book has made me smile. Sibling rivalry at it's best and worst with identical twins.
Recognised so much of myself in both Edie and Alice.
Swapping lives before they lose their TV job.
Seeing eachother lives, family and relationships through different eyes instead of with the usual resentment, opens up understanding and kindness.
I really enjoyed this book and would definitely recommend it

The story revolves around twins Alice and Edie who argue so much, they are completely different, work, life and attitudes.
As children their mum used to tell them to swap so they could appreciate the other and not argue. So they decide to give it ago as adults.

I really enjoyed this book, it had some funny moments but also serious issues.
Highly recommend reading this.

This was an enjoyable book if you like books that focus on twins switching places. There were many different themes to it such as second chances and reflections. This book will leave a smile on the reader's face.

A fun thought provoking book exploring what it’s really like to walk in someone else’s shoes. The two sisters are brilliantly developed and although very different everyone will find echoes of themselves in one or the other. The bickering was at times a bit much but also highlighted their differences. The main characters are supported by a colorful cast, the writing is brilliant and evocative. All in all a brilliant book which I enjoyed more than I thought I would. I definitely recommend it for fans of Samantha Tonge, Fiona Gibson and Kristen Bailey.

A mad and messy plot with twin sisters swapping lives in a stroppy exchange. Their lives are different and both want to show that they have their own journey sorted and meddle in the decisions and the families of their sister. The idea is rather madcap and some of the interference is fun and some is a bit deeper and has deeper potential impact. The sisters are a teeny bit irritating which stops this being a 5 star review, but a solid 4.
