Description
USA TODAY bestselling romantic suspense author Colleen Coble and Rick Acker deliver the second book in their compelling Tupelo Grove series (following What We Hide), where a crumbling university, stolen artifacts, deep family secrets, and deadly ambitions all stand in the way of a second chance at happiness.
College professor Savannah Webster is ready to give her ex-husband, Hez, another chance, and she believes he's finally ready for them to face their many past trials as a team. But when Savannah finds evidence that points to Hez's old demons resurfacing, the fragile trust they've built begins to crumble. And it's not just their relationship that hanging in the balance--the survival of the university Savannah's family poured their lives into is also under threat.
Hez is determined to put his past mistakes behind him with his new role mentoring law students at Tupelo Grove University's legal clinic. His primary focus with the clinic is to help Savannah pull the university out of a pit of debt and bad decisions made by the previous leadership, including her father. But their quest for stability takes a dark turn as they try to root out the dangerous smuggling ring the university is entangled in, and their investigation puts them in the crosshairs of criminals who will stop at nothing to eliminate any obstacle in their path.
The twists continue until the final page as a dangerous world of smuggling and financial instability collides with the complex dynamics of legacy and family.
Colleen Coble and Rick Acker's Where Secrets Lie is gripping suspense with closed-door, second-chance romance. "With an unpredictable plot, complex characters, and a college campus that holds dark secrets, this mystery will keep you guessing." (Robert Dugoni).

This is book two in the Tupelo Grove series, which can definitely be read as a standalone. However, to fully appreciate the captivating story from book one, I highly recommend reading them both in order.
I have read nearly every book Colleen Coble has written. She has always been a favorite of mine and is a gifted storyteller. Since teaming up with Rick Acher, her writing has reached a whole new level. Despite having other commitments, I read this book straight through, only pausing with about an hour left when I absolutely had to put it down to get some sleep. When I picked it back up in the morning, I couldn’t stop until I reached the end. It will be a few days before I can dive into another book, as this one will linger in my thoughts for a while.
Savannah Webster is a college professor at Tupelo Grove University (TPU) who is disappointed to learn she did not receive tenure. She and her former husband, Hez—a lawyer—are planning to remarry, and the need to find another job weighs heavily on her mind. In an unexpected turn of events, Savannah is offered the position of President of TPU. The university is facing financial difficulties and the fallout from some previous bad decisions. Hez fully supports Savannah as she navigates the various professional challenges she encounters, as well as those they face together to ensure a successful second marriage.
There is suspicion that some TPU staff may be involved in a complex and dangerous international smuggling operation. Hez, who mentors law students, assembles a small group of students who volunteer to investigate a few questionable situations. In addition to these pressing concerns, Hez is also working to resolve some of the issues that caused his marriage to fall apart the first time.
This is a captivating, fast-paced story filled with many twists and turns and unexpected dangers. When I turned the last page, I felt as though I had been on a roller coaster ride.
I received a complimentary copy of this book; all comments and opinions are my own.

Savannah and her ex-husband, Hez, are working on reconciling from a divorce that shattered both of them. Savannah is now leading her family's university, TGU, with Hez opening the Justice Chamber - a non-profit legal clinic. They work with Savannah's half-sister, Jess, who is keeping secrets from both of them. The University is in financial trouble, largely due to Savannah's predecessor and her father, Pierre. In addition to strugging to reconcile the financial difficulties, there's a Mexican artifact smuggling ring that has been linked to TGU. The mysteries are suspenseful and interesting, and they are coupled with a wonderful storyline of Hez and Savannah trying to work their way back to each other. Looking forward to the next book in this series to see where the authors take Savannah and Hez next. A great big thank you to Thomas Nelson Fiction for an advanced reader of this book - the opinions expressed are my own.

I knew this would be a great book. I love this author and she never disappoints. Loved the cover and as always I didn’t want this book to end. She is one of my favorite authors.
I received a copy of this book from Netgalley for my honest opinion.

This is the second book in the series but it could be read as a standalone. It was great to catch up with Hez and Savannah. They are still mourning the loss of their daughter but are ready to move on again with each other. But there is smuggling going on at the small college where they work. Lots of twists and turns and an ending that left me wanting the next book.

Excellent 2nd book in the trilogy! Action, legal doings, twists and turns, surprises, romance, faith and so much more! Hez and Savannah really grow/mature in this one. We learn more about the two related families that are at odds. I liked hearing thoughts and conversations with the “bad guys”. Readers are in the know about some things, but there are still surprises! I need to go back and read #1 again and I’m really looking forward to the next book! This pair of authors really do a great job! I love it!
I received a NetGalley ARC of this book, but this review is my own true opinion.

It captured me from the first pages and as it build to the end pages,
With a good flowing plot, and good characters, which added to the story.
I recommend thus book ,as well as the series.
Given arc book to review by Net Galley and Thomas Nelson.

Colleen and Rick have hit another one out of the ballpark yet again. Where Secrets Lie is Book 2 in the Tupelo Grove series. So many twists and turns. Such an amazing duo and series. I love it.
I received an advanced reader’s copy from Thomas Nelson and Netgalley. Opinions are my own.

WHERE SECRETS LIE is the second novel in the Tupelo Grove series by COLLEEN COBLE and RICK ACKER. It is an exciting legal thriller which is full of surprises, with interesting characters and a strong Christian message of forgiveess and redemption. I am looking forward to the next book in the series.
Savannah and Hezekiah Webster are committed to getting remarried, but trust issues threaten to derail their plans until Savannah comes to terms with the fact that her fears stem largely from family trauma. She is surprised when her overbearing and selfish father, Pierre Legare, offers her the presidency of the struggling Tupelo Grove University, where her beloved younger sister Jess is the finacial manager. …….
There is berayal, revenge, murder, the smuggling of artifacts, unpleasant family dynamics and illicit business practice, and Savannah and Hez are not sure who to trust as they try to save the Legare family legacy……
I like Jess’s son Simon, who not nnly adores his mother and is determined to keep her safe, but loves Savannah and Hez, and is proud of his uncle including him in the Justice Chamber he has started at the university.
There is a lot more to the story but I am not going to say any more for fear of spoiling things for you.
I highly recommend Where Ssecrets Lie to anyone who enjoys a good romantic thriller.
I was given a free copy of the book by NetGalley from Thomas Nelson. The opinions in this review are completely my own.

I couldn't wait to get back to Tupelo Grove and Savannah and Hezs story! Colleen and Rick have another bestseller. This book is just as intriguing as book one. Its Interesting characters and strong Christian message of forgiveness and redemption. Also what seeking revenge can do to your life. Savannah and Hez are divorced but are trying very hard to reconcile. Savannah has major trust issues with Hezs drinking which to me is only natural when she finds his favorite wine bottle empty in his trash can. He says someone put it there will she believe him? This book has everything, murder, revenge, betrayal and artifact smuggling! Jess is still busy with her revenge against the Legares, and almost has Savannah moving to another university when her father offers her the job of President of the University which she accepts. Hez is busy with mentoring his law students. He gathers a few student volunteers to help him investigate the clues to the smuggling ring. They are at a loss as to who to trust with the information they uncover .I don't want to go any farther in this review and ruin the surprises which are many. I highly recommend Where Secrets Lie to all Christian Romantic Thriller lovers! I have read just about everything that Colleen Coble has written and she is a gifted storyteller. Together her and Rick Acker are a dynamic duo! I cannot wait for the next book. I want to thank Thomas Nelson Fiction and NetGalley for this complimentary copy in exchange for my honest opinion.

This book continues on from "What we hide", a series set in Tupelo Grove. This book had a plot twist that I didn't see coming and I was blown away. I like the way the book has built on the previous one and added layers to the characters.
The characters have complex issues which the authors highlight in this book. I give them props for not going for the easy fix. The side characters were well written as were the the bad guy.
I receive complimentary books for various sources, including Netgalley, Authors, and other such sources. I am not required to write a positive review and have not received compensation.

Where Secrets Lie is the second book in the journey of Hez and Savannah Webster. Intrigue, suspense and complex family dynamics make this a good read! If you like good complex mysteries, you won’t be disappointed!

Colleen Coble continues to captivate with the second installment of the Tupelo Grove series, Where Secrets Lie. As a fan of her suspenseful romances, I found this book to be another thrilling addition to her collection.
The story picks up where the first book left off, delving deeper into the mystery surrounding Savannah and Hez. Their journey is not just about unraveling secrets but also about personal growth and resilience. Coble does a wonderful job of weaving suspense with heartfelt moments, making it hard to put the book down.
The setting of Tupelo Grove once again plays a vivid role, immersing readers in a world full of intrigue and small-town charm. The twists and turns kept me guessing until the very end, and I can’t wait to see where Savannah and Hez’s story goes next.
If you're a fan of Colleen Coble or love a blend of romance and mystery, this book is a must-read.

This is the second book in the Tupleo Grove series. This book is surrounded in a plot to bring down a crumbling university where those who seek its demise are selling off artifacts and draining the funds needed to keep it from closing its doors.
Savannah Webster is bound and determined to find out who is trying to destroy everything her family has done to keep the university from going under. As the newly appointed president, she is looking for the culprit.
This book had a twist, and I can't wait for the next book

The story, and secrets, first revealed in What We Hide continue in Where Secrets Lie. More twists, more turns, lots of questions, uncomfortable realizations, mystery, family drama, and romance. It’s a complex and emotional story, but I was hooked and had trouble putting it down. I’m excited to read the third book in this trilogy!

Journey back to Tupelo Grove just a few months since the previous book ended. Savannah is ready to explore a new relationship with her ex-husband Hez while trying to also help her sister Jess with caring for her son Simon. Hez is ready to kick off his new justice center at the college and is excited to have a future with Savannah again.
****STOP HERE IF YOU HAVEN'T READ BOOK 1 YET****
But we now have jess in the story and all her plots and machinations are explored through her point of view too. We learn the smuggling ring isn't dead--just had to be revamped. And finally learn what is the reason for Jess to pursue bringing destruction to the university...revenge.
Over the course of the book though we see how much she battles her love for her sister Savannah with her desire to bring the college down and how badly she tries to protect Savannah from it all.
This book is also a great case study for redemption. Redemption for Hez to prove he's changed to Savannah. Redemption explored for Jess. I love that there is a strong faith element in this mystery.
But wowza...the way the epilogue closed. I was just like "nooooooooo". I really hope this is a trilogy and can all be wrapped up in #3!
5 stars for excellent writing and suspense.
*Thank you to Net Galley and the publisher for an ARC of this novel. All opinions are 100% my own.

I found this book on NetGalley while reading and finishing another one of Colleen’s books and I’m so glad I did. I absolutely love this series. I read the first book back during the summer and I loved it so much, these books have romance, intrigue and on the edge of your seat suspense. I was literally not able to put this book down. And every time I thought I had been wowed I was wowed once again. Every page was more and more what I love about Colleen. I have gotten where I was only reading fluffy romance books but any time I read Colleen Coble’s books I am left with just a little more happiness from the whole gamut of emotions and feelings. I cannot express enough how much I love reading a Coble/Rick Acker book but I love both individually. Must read 10 stars book.

This was a strong sequel in the Tupelo Grove series, it had that element that I wanted and thought worked in the first book. It had me from the first page and how the characters worked in the story. Colleen Coble and Rick Acker have a strong writing style and was glad I got to read this, I'm excited for more in this series.

Secrets in every relationship and in every interaction kept me guessing and turning pages throughout this suspenseful book. Set in the south, this second story in the series written by two masterminds, #Colleen Coble and #Rick Acker lead down twisted paths of theft, pride, relational fueds and murder. Cannot wait for the next one in this series. This book was provided by Colleen Coble and #NetGalley for my review. Opinions expressed here are my own thoughts. Definitely worth the read.

This was a fantastic read and pulled me straight in so much that I couldn't put it down. Hez and Savannah experience challenges in their relationship as well as with Tupelo Grove University when Savannah becomes the university's president. This story involves revenge, family dynamics, and an artifacts smuggling ring but is also about redemption. The ending site was a surprise, and I can't wait for book 3.
I received a complimentary copy of this book from NetGalley. All thoughts and opinion are my own.

Poor Savannah. She really has her blinders on when it comes to her sister. We definitely do that too. Don't see things we don't want to in certain people. She had her guard up when it came to Hez when she really should have had her guard up with her sister. Boy those twists at the end though! I really didn't expect them! Now I can't wait for Book 3!!

Where Secrets Lie is the second novel in Colleen Coble and Rick Acker's Tupelo Grove series and wow was it great. It picks up after the first novel and follows the same characters. I guess you could read it as a standalone but I think you'd be lost on some of what is going on so definitely read the first novel before this one. This was so full of twists and turns and I never saw what was coming around the next corner. I loved seeing Hez and Savannah work on rebuilding their relationship and getting back together. The last page left me so hungry for answers and I can't wait until the next book comes out.

I was given this book by NetGalley for an honest review-
Another great read fr9m Cobel! Savanah, a college professor at their families university with Hez, who mentors law students strive to get the university back on its feet, In doing so they discover a smuggling ring and then things become very dangerous and shocking. Can they save the university and stay alive? This was a great read!

I love this continuation of the first Tupelo Grove book!! Especially after the first one left me hanging! However, this one does the same!! Aaaah! I must know what happens next, but I guess I'll have to wait!!! Lots more truth comes out in this book, and there's more to come in book 3.
Thank you to the publisher and NetGalley for the advance e-copy of this book!! All opinions expressed are entirely my own.

"Secrets never lie buried, do they? They always rise to the surface like stones in a New England field." (Jess from Where Secrets Lie.)
Secrets abound, suspects grow, suspense builds, and family drama interspersed all made for a story that pulls the reader in. I throughly enjoyed this book and had difficulty putting it down.
While this story can read as a stand alone, I highly recommend reading "What We Hide (Book One) first as it will give background and introduces the characters.

In depth characters, a plot with all the twists and turns you never see coming and seamless writing by two wonderful authors make this a book you won’t put down. Can’t wait for the last book in this series!

Where Secrets Lie by Colleen Coble and Rick Acker is a gripping romantic suspense novel that blends intrigue, danger, and emotional complexity. The story follows college professor Savannah Webster, who is cautiously reopening the door to a second chance with her ex-husband, Hez. As they begin to rebuild their relationship, Savannah uncovers evidence suggesting Hez's past demons are resurfacing, threatening both their fragile trust and the university that her family has worked tirelessly to build.
As Hez steps into a role mentoring law students at Tupelo Grove University, his focus is on stabilizing the institution, which is teetering on the edge of financial collapse. But when their investigation into the university’s involvement with a dangerous smuggling ring brings them into the line of fire, they find themselves battling not just for their relationship but for their very lives.
The authors expertly weave a tale of family loyalty, redemption, and betrayal, keeping readers on the edge of their seats with every twist and turn. The tension between the couple, combined with the escalating danger from external threats, creates a thrilling narrative that is hard to put down. With well-crafted characters and high stakes, Where Secrets Lie is a compelling read for fans of romantic suspense, filled with unexpected revelations and a relentless drive toward justice.

This book was a quick read for me. Coble doesn't disappoint. Lots of suspense and action amidst the character issues she weaves into the book, makes it a winner. The ending is satisfying, too. Well done.

The plot thickens. Who are the good guys? Who are the bad guys?
Everyone suffers loss and yet life must continue.
For Hez, Savannah, and Simon, the danger is far from over.
Can they save the college? Grudges run very deep.
This book will keep you turning the pages!
I received a complimentary copy of this book. My opinions are my own.

I really enjoyed this newest read by Colleen Coble and Rick Acker. It was a fast paced romantic suspense novel. I enjoyed the chemistry between Hez and Savannah. I believe this is my favorite book, so far, in the series. I look forward to the next one!

Coble & Acker have done it again! The second book in the Tupelo Grove series is absolutely fantastic! It takes you on thrilling ride of intense danger, tangled secrets, intrigue, and family drama. It is impossible to put it down with a shocking ending that left my mind spinning and anxiously awaiting book three!
This book continues with Savannah and Hez navigating their way back to a relationship after much trauma and a divorce. The danger surrounding them as they fight to save TGU quickly ramps up as they begin to uncover many secrets leaving you guessing where the danger is coming from and who is behind it.
This series is a must read! As an avid reader, I can honestly say this is a favorite new series. I was already a Coble fan, but these two authors together are absolutely amazing.

Where Secrets Lie by Colleen Coble and Rick Acker
This was a phenomenal book!
Savannah Webster tries to put her life back on track with a second chance for her ex-husband, Hez. She believes they are ready until she finds evidence that his past demons are back. With their complex family issues, they also face the danger of taking on an international smuggling ring that the University is entangled with.
Savannah takes charge at the helm to try and rescue the University after complete financial devastation. Danger is everywhere, in every direction.
There is so much suspense packed in and I was hooked early on! This is the second book in the Tupelo Grove series. Hez is still my favorite character!
The story is so well layered with wonderful characters that are so well developed, the reader just exists as part of the story. I loved it! I can’t wait for more! The duo of writers is truly gifted, the writing is seamless.
Twists and turns will keep you turning pages until the end! 5/5⭐

Where Secrets Lie is the second book in the Tupelo Grove series. I also read the first book, and I thoroughly enjoyed both of them. While I believe there is enough background information that it could work as a standalone, you would be better off starting with the first one in the series.
This duo of authors worked to produce a thriller that kept me fascinated by the twists and turns throughout the book. The characterization was well done showing how each person reacted to the events in their lives. There was one character that I wish the authors would have kept around because since this is a Christian book, the person seemed to be on the way to making an important faith step, and it would have been good to see.
Overall, like all of Coble's books, this was another great story.

Book 2 in the Tupelo Grove series was riveting! This writing duo spun a tale of secrets, deception, murder, and more that had me spellbound. Savannah Webster, a college professor, is working hard to help her family's university make a comeback after a stolen artifact debacle. Her sister Jess is working her magic on the financial end but has much to hide. Hez, Savannah's ex-husband, is the legal expert working to help the university by starting a law clinic. Hez and Savannah are working to repair their relationship, and things seem to be on the upswing - until Savannah finds an empty liquor bottle in Hez's condo. A recovering alcoholic, Hez vehemently denies it's his, but the seed of doubt has been planted, and Savannah must face her own demons. When law students uncover the fact that stolen artifact ring is still in process, things swirl out of control and danger lurks around every corner. Grab this latest thriller and be prepared to stay up late!

I was so excited to get back into Hez and Savannah’s story—and it was even better than I hoped. Colleen Coble is one of my favorite authors, and the books she’s written with with Rick Acker as a coauthor are some of her best.
The last book ended on a cliffhanger, and this one jumped right back in. Even though you start out knowing who the “bad guy” is, there are plenty of twists and turns to keep you on your toes. You’ll never guess what’s going to happen next.
And it just keeps getting better! So many times in this book something happened that I never saw coming. Just when I thought I had it figured out, a new twist came out of nowhere. No spoilers, but the ending somehow left me feeling satisfied, while also craving more!
Hez and Savannah have a lot of trust issues, but I loved seeing them come together to fight for justice. I can’t wait to see where the next book takes us. Because that last sentence left me with a thousand questions!
I received a copy of this book through NetGalley. All opinions are my own.

We are back in Tupelo Grove University with Savannah and Hez in Where Secrets Lie, the second book of the Tupelo Grove series. It is suspenseful, full of betrayal and lies, an artifact smuggling ring, and family drama. There are many twists and turns and a few surprises thrown in with this romantic thriller. I recommend reading the first book in the series to meet all the characters and understand their dynamics. I am looking forward to the third book in the series!

Oh my goodness gracious, Colleen Coble and Rick Acker have done it again. Their second book in the Tupelo Grove series, Where Secrets Lie, is absolutely jaw-dropping!! Mine dropped several times. The mystery is top-notch and the heartstrings tug is so powerful. If you haven’t read any of this series, you are missing out!!
I received a complimentary copy of this book from the publisher. The opinions expressed are completely my own.

I loved the second book in this series! Although off to a possible rocky start, I loved watching the relationship between Savannah and Hez grow again and how supportive they are of each other.
If you read book one, I highly recommend this one!

Talk about a cliffhanger..."to be continued"!!!! Oh my! I kept clicking hoping for the next page of Colleen Coble's and Rick Acker's "Where Secrets Lie". My hope was deflated, but I will keep an eye out for the next book in the series. There is a next book, isn't there? "What We Hide" was book one in the Tupelo Grove books.
I have never been disappointed in a Coble book. I certainly was not with this one. Certainly, an edge of your seat, page-turning suspense.
Releases June 3rd. I received a complimentary copy of this book. Opinions expressed in this review are completely my own.

If you read the previous book in this series it would help in understading the characters! (What We Hide)
Jessica LeGare was good at keeping secrets - she kept them for her own profit and her son Simon's safety.
Her sister Savannah was her opposite, Savannah was a Teacher at Tupelo Grove University and she had just lost her tenure, but she found out that the Board wanted her to accept the Presidency of TGU!
Jessica was the Financial manager of the college but she had other motives besides benefiting the school, she was involved in smuggling artifacts.
Hezekiah, Savannah's husband is good at sleuthing out facts.
You will be on the edge of your seat!

I loved this book even more than the first one in the series and I can't wait for book three. The mystery is so detailed and kept me guessing at every turn. A not to be missed suspenseful thriller with lots of heart and soul!

Really well written book. I did not read or listen to the 1st book in the series & while I do feel I missed a little, I was able to understand enough of what had transpired that I didn't feel like I missed out on anything, nor did I have a hard time understanding the book.
The characters were well written & well developed. I enjoyed that the book was clean with no language or sleeping around. I appreciated that even though the main characters were previously married & now divorced, they still had boundaries & did sleep together.
The book kept me interested & anxious to find out what happens. There were many surprises, twists & turns! I was happy with the way the book ended, although there were some incredibly hard things that the characters experienced.
The Epilogue frustrated me, because now I have to wait to find out more! (Yes, I understand authors do that on purpose).
I look forward to reading the next book!
(I received this book as an ARC read. All opinions are my own.)

“Where Secrets Lie” is another page-turning, suspense-building story from Colleen Coble and Rick Acker. Keep your friends close and your enemies closer seems to be the name of the game in this story. Sinister forces are at work for TGU, Savannah, and Hez. Jess is trying to keep herself, her son, and her sister, Savannah, out of the line of fire, but the villains are stacking up in this newest book from the Tupelo Grove series. This story flows well and shows well-researched and well-thought out scenarios. The plot keeps the reader on high alert the whole time, with no lag time and hardly a moment to revel in a peaceful resolution. The characters show good development and walk through difficult situations together well and in a realistic way. The conflict is spread out throughout the book and keeps going until the last sentence! I sure hope the third book will not be far behind the release of this one, because I want to know what happens next in the story! I highly recommend this book to lovers of suspense or legal fiction. You won’t want to miss it!

Wow! Book 2 in the Tupelo Grove series was exceptional. The writing team of Coble and Acker have another winner on their hands. Just when you think you have things figured out, there’s another twist. I’m eagerly awaiting the next book in this series. I was given a complimentary copy of this book and the opinions are my own.

Just like the first book in this series, you will be holding your breath, and really not expecting what is about to happen.
So much hate, and spreading it to the next generation, sad. In the end, people are no longer there that we loved and cared about. The epilogue tells of the next book in this series, and it looks like the evil doesn't end.
I loved being back in Tupelo, and with Savannah and Hez, and of course a sweet little boy. There is so much going on here, and old hurts that go back a long way, keep reappearing!
I kept wondering if Savannah and Hez were going to be able to remarry? The stumbling blocks keep falling!
Now I'm waiting for the third book in this series!
I received this book through Net Galley and the Publisher Thomas Nelson, and was not required to give a positive review.

This is the second book in the Tupelo Grove series. I recommend reading the first book prior to reading this book. Where Secrets Lie is even better than the first book. There are a lot of twists and turns that will leave you guessing. I didn't want to put the book down. I'm eagerly waiting on the third book in the series to come out.
I received a complimentary copy of this book. Opinions expressed in this review are completely my own

This is the second book in the Tupelo Grove series. I highly recommend you read the first book before reading this one but it can technically be read as a stand alone. This book continues the story between Hez and Savannah as they try to continue to rebuild trust in their relationship. They are also working on saving Tupelo Grove University from a artifact trafficking ring.
I really enjoyed this read. It was interesting and had some twists I was not expecting. This was a great suspense novel I recommend you give it a read!
"I received a complimentary copy of this book. Opinions expressed in this review are completely my own."

I am so excited to share that Savannah and Hez are back! Once again, Colleen Coble and Rick Acker have teamed up to bring the us back to Tupelo Grove University and they do it in the true explosive, engaging style they are both known for. (BTW, these two working together to create stories is brilliant!) This story picks up pretty close to where the first one left off amps up right away. There are layers to the challenges the school is facing, and Hez and Savannah believe they are up to the task. While they have different strengths and opportunities, they are committed to the school and to each other. I love the way Hez and Savannah are open to rebuilding their marriage, and despite the many threats and intruders that test their new resolutions, they do work together in a beautiful way. There is honesty, forgiveness, and newfound hope for their life to come. They are honest about the difficulties and what they have to work through to succeed this time around. There are plenty of twists that moved my mind in new directions, but always with the undercurrent of hope and redemption.
I received a complimentary copy from the publisher via NetGalley and all opinions expressed are solely my own, freely given.

I have read both books in Coble and Acker's Tupelo Grove series and though they could be read as stand alones, I think you will get more out of the overall experience of reading these books if you read them both and in order. I love all of Coble's books and this addition of writing with Acker has elevated her books to levels that I didn't know was possible. The suspense of this book is my favorite aspect. I also love the characters in this series and how we see them change and evolve. I would give this book 5 stars!
I received a complimentary copy of this book. Opinions expressed in this review are completely my own.

This is book 2 of the Tupelo Grove series - I have not read book 1 and didn't find that impacted on my enjoyment or ability to follow the story (though I imagine it would have been even better had I read book 1). This book and series have some deep story lines of love, deceit, family history and greed. It is not a quick read but rather a book to be savoured as you read it to really understand and enjoy the complexity of the story and feeling the emotions of betrayal, relief, grief, hopelessness, victory and love alongside Savannah and Hez.
Savannah and Hez are working to rebuild their relationship but keep getting slammed with unexpected challenges. Can they pull together to overcome these or will they be too much to conquer alone, let alone together? You will have to read the story to find out - I don't want to give anything away!
This book ends in a good space but also leaves you hanging for book 3 in the series as there are a few loose ends to tie up. The title sums up the book well - where secrets lie - throughout the story secrets come up from multiple places and not always where you expect. We all know secrets have a way of coming out and usually not in a good way and as I was engrossed in the story I felt the pain of those secrets, but also the strength of character and relationship as Savannah and Hez (and others) were able to work their way through their impact.
I definitely enjoyed this book and recommend you read it. I received a complimentary copy of this book. Opinions expressed in this review are completely my own.

Return to Tupelo Grove in this second installment, picking up where the first book ended with the university and family in more danger. The romance, suspense, family drama, and legal entanglements are ramping up to an explosive confrontation. Savannah and Hez are moving forward together, but trust is so fragile and tests are coming. A former enemy rises to the top, threatening both their new relationship, the university's future, and the lives of everyone within touching distance.
The added detail to the characters and their messes and problems, takes this story to the next level. Colleen Coble and Rick Acker build on what the reader already knows and fills in such rich detail that I didn't want the story to end. Secrets and lies are catching up and when they do, the explosion could pull them all in.
The reader also gets to know more about the university and charming town it resides in. I loved getting to revisit Tupelo Grove and the interesting history it holds.
This story has suspense and danger around every corner. Just when the coast seems to be clear, another threat rises to threaten everything they thought they knew and those they love. Who will be the next casualty in this war for money and power? And how many will have to fall before it is finished? I highly recommend this series and can't wait for the next installment from Colleen Coble and Rick Acker. It is already on my TBR pile! I received a complimentary copy of this book. Opinions expressed in this review are completely my own.

In Part Two of A Tupelo Grove series, university professor Savannah Webster and her ex-husband Hez attempt to begin a new life together. But shadows from the past cause Savannah to question the wisdom of renewing their relationship. Add in scandals, scheming, and smuggling, and Coble and Acker have crafted a story that kept me turning the pages and trying to figure out who was behind it all.
Richly drawn characters and top-notch plotting make this a fabulous read! Note: Where Secrets Lie is a much richer story if book one is read first.

This is a fast paced book full of intrigue and suspense that will keep you on the edge of your seat from the beginning until the cliff hanger end! Savannah and Hez are trying to save their beloved college, TGU, that Savannah's family has been a part of since she was a child. There are a lot of crooked people that are trying to bring the college down along with Savannah and her family. When her sister, Jess, is murdered, Savannah takes in her 10 year old son, Simon. Savannah and Hez are trying to solve her murder along with many other mysteries that arise. There are so many twists and turns in this story. Buckle up your seat belt for a wild ride! Thank you NetGalley for this fabulous ARC for my honest review. Colleen Coble did a wonderful job on this book I just couldn’t wait to see what happened next and then it ended leaving me wishing I had the next book to start next. There is so much going on in this story there are clean romantic moments and the suspense with twists and turns that will make you think you are a great detective and have it figured out but then you realize you don’t. I loved the Faith content in this story., also. It’s what I loved the Faith most about this author. I highly recommend this book.

Where Secrets Lie is book two in A Tupelo Grove Novel Series by Colleen Coble and Rick Acker. This story takes over where the first in the series ends, so it is best to read them in order. This is a fast paced story that is filled with action, suspense and mystery. Once again I was pulled into the mystery of what was happening at the University where Savannah and her sister work. The mystery behind the missing artifacts continues and more twists appear surround their fathers.
This is such and enjoyable story to read, the mystery behind Savannah’s sister really surprised me. I enjoyed how supportive Hez was to Savannah as she was dealing with so much within the University and her family. I enjoyed seeing how the two were able to work through their differences. This is a great story with lots of twist and turns that kept me reading to get to the end. I was totally surprised by way Savannah’s father was involved with the University.
I voluntarily received a complimentary copy of this book; this is my honest review.

If you’re looking for your next binge-worthy suspense read, put Where Secrets Lie by Colleen Coble and Rick Acker at the top of your list. I just finished it—five stars, no hesitation. I couldn’t put it down.
The story follows Savannah Webster, a professor at Tupelo Grove University who’s trying to move forward after a painful divorce. But when her ex-husband Hez shows signs of slipping back into trouble, and a dangerous smuggling ring threatens the university her family founded, she finds herself caught in a high-stakes tangle of secrets, lies, and buried history.
What really stood out to me? The intricacies of the plot. Coble and Acker clearly did their research—this story has layers. From legal twists to small-town politics to family drama, it all clicks into place without ever feeling forced. The mix of suspense and second-chance romance hits just the right note.
The ending delivers a serious cliffhanger—and while it left me hanging (in the best way), the next installment isn’t expected for a while. Here’s hoping time flies, because I’ll be first in line when it drops.

Savannah and her ex, Hex are ready to give it a go again. He’s got the ring and she is ready to say yes. She still fears that some of his old habits may come back to bite them both but at this point she wants and needs stability in her life. Some in her family including her sister Jess want no part of him coming back into the fold. He is a fave of her son, Simon and others that are on staff at TGU, the university where both are members of the faculty.
Where Secrets Lie will be published on June 03, 2025 by Thomas Nelson. I was able to read and review Coble and Acker’s second novel in the Tupelo Grove series.
The school seems to take two steps forward and one step back. They are plagued with a smuggling ring that is pushing hard to sell many of the school’s antiques. They are also on the edge of losing funding. Savannah, Hex and faculty are working to repair the economic disaster however there are others that seem to be in control of finances and plan to put TGU at an end.
Another excellent story in the history of a small school that is well liked by students and staff. Readers will enjoy more of the duo's romantic plans as well as their last hopes for another successful year for the university.
Do read this outstanding continuation of Book 1 - What We Hide.

** “Let God worry about tomorrow. And try not to worry. It solves nothing, and it disrupts our trust and faith.” **
Authors Colleen Coble and Rick Acker continue their joint thriller series with “Where Secrets Lie,” a continuation of the drama faced by former spouses Savannah Webster and Hez Webster.
As Tupelo Grove University continues to face smuggling issues and financial woes, Savannah is seeking to obtain tenure, her sister Jess is still the university’s CFO and Hez still hopes to open a justice center at the school. But when disappointment is followed by more deadly incidents, they face some devastating circumstances that could tear their reblooming relationship apart.
These two authors seemingly blend together a story brilliantly, doing an incredible job of creating a fast-paced, intense plot filled with twists and turns, including another shocking ending. They develop some great characters, including a boy named Simon and an alligator named Boo Radley, and they also include some old friends from Coble’s Pelican Harbor series.
They also include some great themes in “Where Secrets Lie,” including “if good people do nothing, evil wins”; forgiveness is hard; secrets never lie buried; the power and impact of justice and mercy, and how it can be hard to achieve and accept them; and God cares for us and our futures.
Fans of Lynette Eason, Kelly Irvin, Terri Blackstock and Irene Hannon will love this novel, which is due out June 3. I would not recommend reading this as a standalone novel.
Five stars out of five.
Thomas Nelson provided this complimentary copy through NetGalley for my honest, unbiased review.

Book Two of the Tupelo Grove series is more in the life of Savannah Webster, history professor, and her former husband, attorney Hez Webster as they work to resolve issues that caused their marriage to end and look to rekindle their life as husband and wife again. The corruption and network of stolen artifacts connected to some at Tupelo Grove University is ongoing and something that they want to end. This story hits all the emotions with hurt, sadness, revenge, conniving, hate but yet with faith, hope, and love. This is a suspenseful read that kept me engaged until th end. I enjoy seeing characters from a couple of other Colleen Coble series set in the Mobile area. The collaboration of Colleen Coble's romantic suspense stories and Rick Acker's law background makes for a great read.
I received a copy in exchange for an honest review. These are my thoughts.

Savannah Webster, a college professor at Tupelo Grove University, has recently started dating her ex-husband, Hezekiah Webster. Savannah and Hez hope to put their tumultuous past behind them, learn from their mistakes, and press forward into a brighter future.
When Savannah gets passed over for tenure, her world seems to cave in. She resists moving away from the town where their only child is buried. When her father offers her the university presidency, Savannah reluctantly agrees.
She soon discovers a smuggling ring operating on campus, and Hez and his Justice Chamber students are willing to help with the investigation. Someone seems determined to ruin the struggling institution by whatever means possible.
When Savannah finds an empty wine bottle in Hez’s kitchen, she starts to second-guess her decision to restore their relationship. How can she trust a man whose alcoholism contributed to the demise of their first marriage?
While Hez and Savannah struggle to repair their relationship and move past old ways of relating to each other, the pressing need to uncover the smuggling ring continually interrupts them. Despite Savannah’s misgivings, she knows that she and Hez can bring the perpetrators to justice together. But at what cost?
What I Loved About This Book
The second in the Tupelo Grove series, Where Secrets Lie, peels back a layer on the mysterious smuggling ring and Savannah’s family members' involvement. I couldn’t stop turning pages as Savannah and Hez uncover twists and turns they (and the reader) never expected.
The truth will shock you. But is it the whole truth?

Colleen Coble and Rick Acker's Where Secrets Lie, the second book in the Tupelo Grove series, is a gripping tale that immediately captures the reader's attention. The authors' masterful storytelling weaves a complex web of secrets and surprises, keeping me on the edge of my seat. I became deeply invested in the characters of Savannah and Hez, feeling a strong affinity for them. The book's suspenseful plot had me biting my nails in anticipation of what would happen next. I am eagerly anticipating the release of the third installment. *I was provided with a copy of this book by the publisher, and this review is my honest opinion.

such a brilliantly written mix of legal, romance and family drama come into this book. and the balance is just spot on. we are back with book two and back with Savannah and her husband Hez who are trying to rebuild all that was lost to them when their marriage came under fire. but they both want to keep it together. they both want to make it work. but there is the underlying issue of corruption happening at the university where Savannah is a professor. so in this book we have some truly relatable factors with the added suspense and legal dramas that both authors bring to the table perfectly.
its a whip smart book. you can love any of the genres and appreciate how good this book is. and its a totally unique and different kind of book for me and i really appreciate the chance i got to read such a book with all the characters involved.
bringing both authors with their respective backgrounds was a really clever idea. and i hope they felt they worked together as much as their writing shows because they must have then had a great time with this.

Colleen Coble and Rick Acker craft a masterfully entertaining christian suspense thriller. Tupelo Grove a picturesque southern college steeped in history, finds itself in the middle of trouble. Savannah and Hez recently escaped a life threatening situation. Jess is back also with her drama. This is book two in the series, but can be read as a stand-alone. Very well paced, great chemistry among the characters. These are characters that you want to succeed.
Thank you to Thomas Nelson for the ARC / ALC. Karen Peakes is an amazing narrator. The production quality was top notch.

This was certainly a page turner! It’s a fast moving story. It’s filled with lots of twists and turns. There’s surprises around every corner. You won’t be able to put this book down! I’m anxiously waiting for the next one in this series.

Thank you Netgalley and Thomas Nelson for the chance to read the ARC of Where secrets lie by Colleen Coble and Rick Acker. I was eager to read the 2nd book in the Tupelo Grove series as I loved the 1st book Where we hide, which I read with my sister in our bookclub! What we hide ended with a surprising twist (I recommend reading it before jumping into Where secrets lie) and the suspense continues as Savannah and Hez not only try to pick up the pieces of their broken marriage, but continue to try to solve the mystery behind the theft of artifacts, and sabotaging the university. I love the characters, especially Savannah and Hez, and adore Cody the dog!!! I am definitely looking forward to the next book in the series! Totally recommend this to those who read romantic suspense, and legal thrillers.

As the second installment in this delightful Christian mystery series, it continues to captivate with its inspirational characters and masterfully woven plot. The story is easy to read, yet rich with suspense and heartfelt moments that keep you turning the pages eagerly.
The characters are not only relatable but also embody deep faith and resilience, adding layers of meaning and inspiration. The plot is wonderfully crafted, filled with twists and revelations that keep you guessing until the very end. It’s the kind of book that sparks thoughtful discussions, making it an excellent choice for book clubs.
If you're looking for a mystery that blends intrigue with uplifting themes, "Where Secrets Lie" is a must-read. Colleen Coble and Rick Acker have created a story that lingers in your thoughts long after the final page. Highly recommended for fans of Christian fiction and mystery lovers alike!

Where Secrets Lie is a fast-paced, twist-filled thriller that kept me hooked from start to finish. Just when I thought I had it figured out, another secret unraveled, pulling me deeper into the mystery. The characters are complex and relatable, and the emotional stakes add depth to the suspense. A compelling, well-written read that’s both thrilling and heartfelt. Highly recommended!
Rating: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

In this second book in the Tupelo Grove series, the authors captivated me immediately with the romance between Hez and Savannah, Jess’s duplicity and precocious young Simon. The action is non-stop as Savannah tries to save her beloved university and Jess works behind the scenes to thwart her. Hex, a lawyer with a plan and a purpose, begins his Justice Chamber project, investigating corruption and cases that involve the university. In all of their interactions, there are a lot of secretes and twists along with red herrings. The action is riveting as there are more murders and subterfuge, along with the stolen artifacts that are tied to the university. Danger runs rampant through the pages and it was hard to put the book down. I enjoyed learning more of the back story about the characters and the reason they behave the way they do, especially Jess. I found the characters to be mostly likable and totally dynamic, with realistic flaws that made me like them even more. I especially enjoyed how well the threads of the complicated plot were all interwoven and came together perfectly at the conclusion. This book may be read as a standalone, but I think readers would find it more enjoyable if they read the series in order as characters introduced in the first book are the same ones in this one, only with additional details and a few new characters added to the mix. The mystery drew me into the story and kept me reading to try to solve the murders and understand the dynamics of the families involved in the legacy of the university. I am already looking forward to the next book in the series since the setting, the characters and the plot have captured my imagination and my desire to know all of the secrets.

This book hooks you on the first page and doesn't let go. It's well written with wonderful characters and just enough suspense, drama, and mystery to keep you turning the pages. This book was a great read and I highly recommend it.

What a story!
College professor Savannah Webster and ex-husband lawyer Hezekiah are back. Their broken marriage and loss of their precious child has caused problems, agony and soul deep scars for both of them. They have been struggling back toward one another, a love that didn't perish. Is love and attraction enough?
Now something is still happening at the university that Hez is trying to help Savannah save. Is the pressure too much for him? Is Savannah really able to trust Hez? Savannah's sister Jessica is hiding a secret. Will the university survive debt and smuggling activity that has come to light?
I want to thank Barbour Publishing and NetGalley for my e-copy of this second book in the Tupelo Grove series. Wow! This is my own opinion of the book. It's a shining five-star read for me. There is so much going on right down to a touching death scene, tastefully written, that brought tears to my eyes. I love the character Bruno Rubenelli and that Blake Lawson makes an appearance too. (Ambush)
There is intrigue, danger, sabotage and more. The power and damage caused by revenge can be beyond words, I think Colleen Coble and Rick Acker have handled the subject very well. In my notes while reading, I jotted down, "the power of revenge is devastating unless it ends in forgiveness."
Coble and Acker, what is next!?

Colleen Coble and Rick Acker are a dynamic duo as a writing team. Each time I read a new book in their Tupelo Grove series, I am unsure how they could ever top it, and then they do! Where Secrets Lie is an amazing piece of romantic suspense, but if you haven't read the first two books, please do yourself a favor and begin at the beginning. Each story, and most especially this latest release, has multiple storylines that intersect. The plot is most definitely not predictable, which fascinates me. The characters are realistic with weaknesses and past sorrows that work to assert themselves when least welcomed. They are also prone to seeking hope even when it seems blocked at every turn, something that would benefit us all.
The writing in Where Secrets Lie is crisp and focused. It evokes strong emotions of many kinds. The authors' voices consistently meld forming a harmony that creates a strong, singular voice. I am grateful to have received a complimentary copy of this book from Thomas Nelson via NetGalley without obligation. All opinions expressed here are my own.

Having survived a kidnapping and all that went with it, Savannah and Hez are ready to put the past behind them and look to the future - specifically, the renewal of their old relationship. But those plans go sideways when Savannah finds a wine bottle in Hez's bin, suggesting he's turning back to the alcohol that tore them apart. Worse, the university they've been fighting to save is still heading downhill. When Savannah loses her position, she starts to ask whether it's time to walk away, but the university is her family's legacy. With enemies both known and unknown attacking from all sides, can they save TGU, or is anything they can do too little, too late? And as things get hotter, the question of whether they themselves will come out alive doesn't seem too far-fetched...
The previous book left me on a slightly unpleasant note, making me uncertain how I'd feel about this story, but I couldn't resist anyway - and I'm glad I didn't try. This story kept me turning pages far too late because it was so hard to put down. Like the previous book, it's a good combination of relationship development/mending and action/suspense. Savannah and Hez have come a long way, but they've still got a long way to go, and I'm looking forward to the next book already. Relative to the last book, I appreciated the 'bad guys' being more in the open (at least to the reader), because it gave more of a look into their motives, making their actions at least more understandable, if still not right. Note that this is a series that's best read as a series - this builds strongly on the first book and leaves things to be resolved in subsequent book(s), though I wouldn't call it a cliffhanger at all. All in all, a great read and I'm looking forward to the the next book. Recommended.
I received a complimentary copy of this book. Opinions expressed in this review are completely my own.

I was beginning to wonder if my nerves could take much more in this fantastic series. Wow! This writing dynamic duo know how to pen a mystery that will keep you glued to the pages wondering when the next shocker will happen while also giving you heart palpitations.
Family legacy is at stake as well as a marriage that needs to be rekindled. Pair all of that with smuggling, possible financial collapse and secrets that will shock you to your core, and you have a phenomenal romantic suspense that will stay with you long after you read the last page. I found myself really rooting for Savannah and Hez. They have some major obstacles to overcome before they can fully rekindle their romance. I love both of these characters because they are so realistic with real life troubles and flaws which make them easy to relate to. This book was an emotional landmine with feelings all across the spectrum. Savannah and Hez want to do things right, but have mercy, it seems nothing can go right. At least now I can breathe for a little while. The saga is never ending, and I cannot wait for book 3, if my nerves can hold up.
Thank you to Thomas Nelson Fiction and NetGalley for this ARC. I am leaving this review voluntarily.

Wow🙌🏼 this book was amazing!
Suspense that will have you on the edge of your seat. Just when you think you’ve for it figured out…boom, something completely different happens!

Where Secrets Lie is the second book in the Tupelo Grove Novel series by Colleen Coble and Rick Acker. This story is a continuation of the first book in the series, What We Hide. The stories center around Jess Legare, CFO for Tupelo Grove University; her sister Savannah Legare Webster, a history professor at TGU; and Savannah’s husband, attorney Hezekial Webster.
Jess’s duplicity backfires as she works to exact her revenge on Pierre Legare. Due to her mother’s infidelity and Jess’s resulting birth, Pierre had treated her late mother horribly and wasn’t much better with Jess. Her physical needs were met—food, clothing, shelter, education, but her childhood, with the exception of her sister Savannah, was emotionally traumatic. Now Jess has aligned herself with other Legare enemies, and is robbing the historical artifacts of the university while creating providence for recently discovered and stolen artifacts from Central American jungles.
Savannah and Hez have no idea there is a mole in their trio and that all of their plans to thwart those trying to bring down the university are being leaked straight to the adversaries. That is until a plan is hatched while Jess is out of town. With inside information and federal help, the smugglers’ plans are thwarted, smugglers perish, and the course of events are altered.
This is another well written thriller by Ms. Coble and Mr. Acker. With well drawn characters, an ever twisting plot line, and surprising events, this story takes the reader on a wild ride. I very much enjoyed this book and I do recommend it!

What is your favorite book series?
Savannah Webster and her ex-husband Hez are trying to give their love a second chance. They had previously been married, but their marriage broke when they lost their child and Hez turned to alcohol. Things look bright until Savannah finds an empty wine bottle in Hez’s garbage. Has he turned back to alcohol? Savannah takes on a new role as the president of her beloved Tupelo Grove University and Hez starts a new legal clinic. Together they discover many problems with finances at the university including someone at the university using it as a front for a smuggling ring. Will they be able to save the university?
My thoughts on this novel:
• This is the second book in the Tupelo Grove series. I enjoyed the settings, characters, and suspense in the first book and was excited to read more in the series. I would definitely recommend reading both books in order in this series.
• There is a theme of forgiveness throughout the novel paired together with the desire for revenge.
• This novel also showed that the path of love is not always simple and takes work.
• This was a great family drama that was action packed and showed the importance of family.
• It was a clean read.
• There were faith elements throughout the novel relative to forgiveness and a character’s death.
• Colleen Coble and Rick Acker are a great writing team. Colleen is an experienced writer and Rick knows the legal ins and outs.
• The novel had a fantastic ending with a mic drop moment. I can’t wait to see what happens next and look forward to the third book in the series.
• I also like the authors note at the end which included interesting information about artifact smuggling.
Overall, Where Secrets Lie by Colleen Coble and Rick Acker is a great Southern romantic suspense novel. I highly recommend this enjoyable series.

I received a copy of this book.
Full of action and plot twists.
Great Characters.
Could not put it down.
Looking forward to reading more books by this author.
Definitely recommend.

This is the second of the Tupelo Grove series about Hez and Savannah Webster. Overwhelmed by the impending bankruptcy of the college as well as the legal issues dealing with the artifact smuggling that had been traced to the university, Hez and Savannah are struggling to mend their relationship, find the thieves and save the college. Dark secrets that are hidden by Savannah's family members threaten to destroy them at every turn. The story ends in a cliffhanger, pointing in a new direction to aspects of the case believed to be settled. This was a shocking ending and I can't wait for the third installment.
Coble has created a world in Tupelo Grove and the surrounding area, link this series and others to friends and family members in the area. I really enjoyed the world and the characters that are part of the stories. Looking forward to everything the author puts forth from this area.

Oh. My. Goodness. I knew Where Secrets Lie was going to be good based on a) how much I enjoyed What We Hide and b) the stunning way that first book ended. But once again I was not expecting some of the twists that we encounter on this second visit to Tupelo Grove University. Well… to be more specific, I knew there would be some shocking plot turns to navigate but I really couldn’t predict what they were going to be. Let me say this first – if you haven’t yet read What We Hide, put this review down and go read that instead because Where Secrets Lie will be more impactful for you if you’ve been with this series from the beginning. I guess you COULD read this as a standalone if you really have to but I don’t think you really truly want to.
Where Secrets Lie picks up with Hez and Savannah a little bit after the events of What We Hide, and we’re immediately immersed once more in the complex dynamics of their own renewed relationship and those of Savannah’s family, as well as the criminal minds who are continuing to weave their web of lies and smuggling – and murder – at Tupelo Grove. I could not have put down this story if I’d wanted to, which is fine because I didn’t want to. Every time I thought I might be able to let my guard down just a teeny bit … nope, the brilliant writing team of Coble and Acker threw in another bombshell reveal or unexpected development to keep me on my toes. And I loved every pulse-raising word of it! I also loved spending time with these characters again, getting to know a couple of new ones, and visiting with some familiar faces from Coble’s other adjacent-set series. Every layer in this story is well-placed, and based on the ending (which punched the breath out of me just like the ending of What We Hide did) I am hoping there is much more to come!
Bottom Line: The title of Where Secrets Lie is absolutely perfect for the story inside this latest Tupelo Grove suspense novel from Colleen Coble & Rick Acker. Secrets & deception abound on this quaint campus of higher learning, some of which may leave your jaw on the floor and your heart skipping a beat. I was deeply invested in how everything would play out for Hez and Savannah on several different fronts – from their families to their romance to their respective spiritual & personal growth arcs and, of course, the various suspense threads weaving expertly together into one edge-of-your-seat story. I am loving this setting, these characters, and these two authors writing together. Consider this my order for at least 10 more Tupelo Grove novels and whatever else Coble & Acker want to write in addition.
