Do they look guilty? Yes.

Do they feel guilty for having wished him dead just hours before? Maybe a little.

But—solid motive and a crime scene covered in their DNA aside—they’re innocent. They swear.

To clear their names, Kat, Olivia, and Elle team up to find the real killer. But as they go undercover and lie to everyone, including the hot detective working the case, they realize that every person in their ex's life had a reason to want him dead. Will they uncover the truth before they go down for a murder they didn't commit?

Filled with humor and shenanigans, The Ex-Girlfriend Murder Club is a romp of an adventure by award-winning author Gloria Chao, perfect for fans of Dial A for AuntiesFinlay Donovan Is Killing It and John Tucker Must Die.

Easily one of the best books I’ve read in 2025! This story had me guessing, reeling, and shocked. I did not see the end coming until right before, and holy Hannah! I wish I could go back and re-read this book again. I enjoyed Kathryn, and seeing her growth throughout. The main thing I loved was the strength of women uniting for a common cause and sticking together through everything. We should all be so lucky to have friends like that. Highly, highly, highly recommend this book!

This book is pure fun! It's a humorous murder mystery with an unlikely group of gals! I liked the premise and the three main characters, Kat, Olivia, and Elle! This is a fun adventure with the ladies and I liked how they worked together to find who killed Tucker (an ex-boyfriend of all of them!). This just had fun situations and humor and was an overall enjoyable read for those looking for a fun read! Thank you HTP books and Netgalley for an early e-copy of this book!

Thank you Netgalley for this arc in exchange for an honest review. GLORIA DID IT AGAIN!! This book is very different from her contemporary YA romcoms but it was so good!!! The mystery, the plot twists, the murder!! It was all so creative and I never saw the plot twist coming! I had so much fun with this book I couldn’t put it down. Knowing there is going to be a sequel makes me so excited you have no idea. I love Kat the main character. She’s so awkward and relatable. This book still made me cry once because Gloria always sneaks in something about being Asian that’s so relatable or heartwarming I can’t help but cry. I hope I get to see Gloria again and get a copy of this book signed. ❤️ I LOVE YOU GLORIA!! I’m also so honored I got to read this book months before release.

This was a really fun and fast paced read. I laughed out loud so many times as I was reading this. It’s a bit silly but definitely one of those heartwarming story’s that just makes you smile. I could tell the author just had fun with this one. It felt simultaneously nostalgic and fresh. Definitely perfect for fans of Dial A for Aunties and The Other Woman. I really enjoyed the main characters. Kat, Olivia and Elle were hilarious as a trio. I loved the found family / sisterhood moments between the three women. They were all quite different personality wise but they really worked well together. The pacing was done really well and I thought the different layers of clues and mystery kept me on my toes. I did appreciate the small bits of romance that were included but Im glad it didn’t shift the focus of the story. I will say my one complaint was I wanted an epilogue. Just a brief glimpse into the future of what happened afterwards but that’s just me.

Overall this was a really funny and enjoyable mystery that was lighthearted at times while also being an actual mystery. The found family and girlfriend bonds were wonderfully written and had me rooting for the characters.
