Fruitful Living Growing a Life That Matters by Elisa Morgan is an insightful book for anyone looking to grow more Christ-like every day. The emphasis is on “being” then the “doing” will happen. I found it so truthful that it is not all or nothing but a God development in our lives. Plain spoken and easy to identify with the author while making relevant connections to my own life, this was a helpful and healthy read. Biblical based Fruitful Living is a gem of a read.
While the chapters are short with a list of putting into thought and action then a helpful sample prayer at the end, it is not a daily devotion. Divided into three parts, the first is the shortest but oh so thought provoking titled, Fruit Matters. While I wanted to dive into the second section on the individual Fruit of the Spirit, I found the first to be so helpful in preparing my heart and mind. The third is a section on Growing the Fruit in daily life. What felt like a wonderful bonus was a parable at the end of the book, titled The Orchard. I highly recommend Fruitful Living to any and all who are interested in the Christian faith.

Many followers of Jesus have no idea about growing in faith. They go along, day to day, hoping for relief, release, and some movement away from destructive habits, harmful emotions, or clouded thinking.
Morgan makes a clear and compelling argument for the ongoing transformation of a disciple. She examines the fruit that the Holy Spirit develops naturally as we obey.
You don't have to be perfect, you may fail, and you may feel discouraged at times. But Morgan shows how Jesus will shape every part of your life from the inside out. Growth - and spiritual fruit - is normal, life-bringing, and sweet progress.
Recommended for studies, small groups, and those seeking a deeper walk with Jesus.

This book gives hope and inspires. We all have bad days, no matter our religious beliefs. Skip the religious part if you want to, and use this book to lift you up. It will.

I always enjoy Our Daily Bread publications, especially the devotionals, and was excited to see that Elisa Morgan had a new book through them. Fruitful Living. The book has three parts with why the Fruits of the Spirit are important, breaks them down with a chapter on each one and how to grow a fruitful life.
I did not learn anything new from this book, but it had great reminders. Elisa Morgan continues to be a great author, and I wish she had written her thoughts more than having others share their opinions and experiences. I do think everyone reading it will come away with great reminders. I look forward to hearing more from Morgan on the Our Daily Bread podcast "God Hears Her."
I received a complimentary copy of this book thanks to publisher and NetGalley, but all opinions are my own.
