A sweet, lovely romance with some genuinely funny moments. Ree and Jake are a cute couple, and despite their relationship developing very quickly, it seemed believable and genuine.

I loved that neither Ree or Jake were caricatures or cardboardy.

The glimpses of the beautiful Gippsland region certainly makes for a wonderful setting too.

The Cowboy is a lovely start to a very fun series from Tule.

"The Cowboy" by Margareta Osborn

What I liked about this read....

"The Cowboy" was truly a sweet contemporary romance about Carina Chapman and Jake Richardson. We find that Carina is taking a vacation in Australia, however the resort location isn't where she thought she would be where she ends up at a cowboys 'rustic homestead beside the Barcoo Creek." What is up with Jake's resort that will have the reader shaking their heads? What will this classy lady from New York do when she finds out that she has been sent to the wrong resort? Get ready for a lots of twist and turns but in the end will this lady get the man she has desired? To learn this and just what this author has for the reader you will have to pick up this novel to see for yourself if in the end if Ree will have a 'new life at Barcoo Creek Station Stay.' I really liked it when the Jake, the Australian cattleman referred to Carina as 'Ree, mate and darling.' I felt that the read move somewhat slow but in the end it did make up for it. I loved the steps of everlasting partner relationship....'being happy in yourself...awareness of what marks your partner tick...new adventures together...partners need to take responsibility for keeping the relationship going....moving forward and lastly keeping working hard to reap the rewards.'

This is a short read about a girl named Carina from New York. Her assistant makes her reservations in Australia but once she reaches her destination she is tired and reading to hit the hay and relax, only to be thrown out of the hotel. By some mistakes she ends up at the wrong resort and everything only gets interesting from there. Jake on the other hand is working really hard to get his “resort” ready only to be faced with one thing after another going wrong. When low and behold Carina shows up earlier then he had planned and he has nothing ready. The chemistry in the book in there through most of it but they both seem to be fighting it and not quite sure what to do with it. Jake works hard to make Carina’s stay enjoyable but it seem like no matter what he does he just can’t seem to get it right, or is he? The story builds from there I can’t say there really is anything about the book I love or hate the story over all was cute and I liked the fun back and forth with the characters, over all I would say this is a good read quick but good.

Book Review: The Cowboy by Margareta Osborn

When quintessential New Yorker Carina Chapman arrived in Australia’s High Country, she was expecting luxe accommodations at Barcoo Creek Resort. Then she found out that she was actually booked at the Barcoo Creek Station where luxury means a cowboy cooking for her instead of a Michelin chef.

She was ready to hightail it back to Manhattan, but cowboy Jake Richardson’s blue eyes and ripped body was worth at least a one night stay. Carina was in lust; she was unaware that it was slowly turning into love.

A romantic comedy, The Cowboy by Margareta Osborn has all the elements of a feel good book about the Australian outback. Putting a high strung New York with a mellow cowboy was genius.

The Cowboy is Rated YA for Young Adult for some mild sexual content.

A short read. Carina, city slick from New York is in need of a vacation. She flies to Australia, to an all inclusive resort. Thinking she was at the right one when she finds out she is at the wrong resort and ends up at Jake's, the cowboy. who is just starting his resort. He is having a hard time getting everything up and running, so Carina helps him along. There is a lust that develops between these two, but living on different continents, will it be possible.

I enjoyed this read, loved all the descriptions of the Australian landscape and wildlife. I received this book from Net Galley for an honest review.

3.5 Stars!
The Cowboy.........Margareta Osborn

This is not your typical city girl meets cowboy. Carina Chapman is a city girl, right from New York City. But her cowboy is a tall, dark and handsome rancher from the High Country of Australia.

Ree is on a getaway arranged by her assistant at a spa resort in the mountains outside of Melbourne. Way outside she discovers. After a very hair-raising trip through cliffs and rocks she arrives at the resort. Cocktails and a swim is all she has been thinking about. But...it turns out the beautiful resort she is delivered to, is not where her reservation is. She is a guest of Barcoo Creek Bush Resort. The next stop on a desolate road, which she has to walk to, in stilettos.

Jake Richardson is desperately trying to ready his ranch for his first guest. The water pump is broken, he has a mouse plague and his cook and maid left. But, of course she arrives early. Ree is not impressed with Barcoo Creek, or it's owner, but she's too tired, dirty and exhausted to do anything about it. After a shower, some sleep and a tour, it doesn't seem that bad, and Jake is trying so hard and is very sexy.

Their adventures are hilarious; snakes in the toilet, broken down car in the bush trying to see a koala and Ree falling under the spell of Australia and Jake. Jake needs this resort to work, he can't face losing his family's land. This is a delightful read with lots of laughs and romance. Cowboys are cowboys no matter what country your in.

I received this eBook from the publisher and NetGalley for an honest review.

Carina Chapman hasn’t had a holiday for years - rarely taking even a weekend off. She gets her PA to book her in to a retreat out in the wilds of Australia but it turns out there are two retreats with totally different levels of provision. Carina believes she’s booked into the 5 star resort but finds out she isn’t! She’s unceremoniously thrown out of that by the obnoxious manager and makes her way to the other retreat.

Cowboy Jake Richardson is trying to introduce tourism to his ranch in a desperate measure to raise funds to enable him to keep his family home. His housekeeper has defected to the other resort, his Mum has dementia and has gone to live in a home and his ex-wife has totally deserted him. He doesn’t even know how to operate the coffee machine! Then Carina arrives . . .

The story of these two is a heart warming one of self discovery, enterprise and initiative. Their lives initially seem complete opposites but, as the story develops, their skills, emotions and lives interlink more and more. A lovely story set in a fantastic region brought to life by the author. I really enjoyed my escape into this book!

The Cowboy, Hot Aussie Heroes Book 1, is a cute mistaken resort romance. Talk about a vacation gone wrong! I could only wish my worst vacations had turned out as well. Margareta Osborn’s Jake Richardson is one tough rancher thrown into the tourism business as he tries to save his family ranch. It seems as if he is learning as he goes and the learning curve is huge. Carina Chapman is a sophisticated New Yorker looking for a 5 star vacation but winds up booked at Jake’s ranch/ resort that is not yet opened. The story centers on the bumps that follow as Jake tries to salvage his ranch and Carina’s vacation.

I enjoyed seeing the area through a native and a new comers eyes. The countryside sounds beautiful and the wildlife interesting to me, not so much to Carina. That’s makes for quite a humorous story. A good start to a new series by Tule Publishers.

The Cowboy had me hooked from the first page with its setting in the gorgeous bushland close to my home. It is a sweet uncomplicated story that nicely showcases the attractions of the Victorian high country, and it is well written though at times a little gauche? I did find Carina rather irritating at the beginning of the book, and i didn't like either her name or the diminutive Ree. I also found Jake's complete unpreparedness for guests at his property a bit hard to swallow, however this is fiction so I'm prepared to gloss over the finer details. On the whole this is a light, easy to read and enjoyable book perfect for a lazy Saturday afternoon.

A cute read about an American city girl who goes on vacation to the Australian Bush to discover herself and finds herself a cowboy while there. I really liked Carina. She acted exactly in the way that I would, wildlife freaks me out, but with a little nudge and through her, I got to see the beauty around her as well.

The story has such a delightful humorist way to describe how things are going in this recently opened 'resort' with Jake's first guest, making it nearly into a tragicomedy. Jake is a down to earth, handsome, farmer, down on his luck and trying to save his farm by opening it for the tourist, as a resort. He is willing and able to go the extra mile to make Carina happy, with genius ways to fulfill her vacation fantasies of a spa, swimming pool with a bar etc.
Carina comes off as a spoiled diva at the beginning, true city slicker, until she opens her eyes to her beautiful surroundings, and to the possibility to make the most of her vacation as it is.
They are such an 'opposite attracts couple', that at first it was hard to see, what Jake was seeing in her. Thankfully, she became more likable towards the end. I wanted a bit more conclusion, maybe an epilogue, of how they managed to turn around the farm's tourist business, not to mention how the New York city slicker managed in the outback. The beginning of the story had so much detail, that the ending seemed rushed. But overall entertaining story, written with humor, drizzled with some life lessons, and a steamy romance

THE COWBOY is another book in the Hot Aussie Heroes series recently released by Tule Publishing. I really enjoyed looking at Australia’s outback through the eyes of an American city slicker. And boy oh boy did Carina have a steep learning curve to adjust to what to her was an almost alien environment. Mice, snakes, spiders and possums are all horrifying when you stare eyeball to eyeball with them. But alternatively Jake is plunged into his own piece of unknown territory when he finds out that cooking up a juicy steak on a BBQ and serving it to a vegetarian guest can be horrifying too.

I have to confess it took me a while to warm to Carina, I actually found her quite irritating to start with and it crossed my mind that if she was a successful business woman in a cut throat environment such as New York she could have handled a few critters a bit better. Having said that, there is tremendous growth in Carina as a person – in fact in truth it is she who makes the most adjustments in this relationship. Jake was a typical bushy, I loved him to bits – kind hearted and bending over backwards to try and keep her happy. He just keeps getting things wrong despite his good intentions. As Carina gets to know more about Jake’s background she gradually recognised all the good things that were happening and realised she doesn’t want to toy with his affections. She starts to help Jake with suggestions on how to make a better go with the deluxe ranch stay. The sexual attraction is at a super high level as they are both drawn strongly to each other – but both trying not to succumb for different reasons. There are some very funny scenes – and some magical scenes as Carina gets to see the positive side of the Australian Outback. The ending was happy, as you would expect, if a little bit quick. But when love calls all you can do is respond

Carina Chapman needs to get away...far, far away. She has her personal assistant book her into a 5-star resort in Australia. That would be far enough. When she arrives, she finds that there has been a mistake, and she has actually been booked at a rustic, homestead, ranch-turned-sort-of resort. Jake Richardson is a cowboy forced into the "resort" business to try to save his ranch. When the mistake is brought to light, Jake talks Carina into giving it a try - promising to try to deliver all the items on her vacation checklist. Let the fun begin!

I enjoyed the trip to the outback and the writing style of Margareta Osborn. The book is short, thus the character development and relationship development are as well. The author did a fantastic job of supplying the reader with enough information to make the story or Jake and Carina enjoyable. I look forward to reading the remaining book in the Hot Aussie Heroes series. I recommend!

The Cowboy was novella length but still managed to fit in a lot of fun and emotion into a smaller book. It wasn’t an overly deep story but it was entertaining and sweet, just what I wanted in a short contemporary romance. Some might complain about the Aussie stereotypes or clichéd language, but I found it cute.

Osborn did such a fantastic job describing Barcoo Creek and the Australian wilderness, I felt like I was along for the adventure with Carina - I’m ready to vacation at the resort and experience all of the beauty for myself. Jake and Carina were fun together, throwing off sparks and laughter at the city slicker’s expense. I did like that Carina decided to go with the flow, although her decision at the end was a little abrupt – but with a novella like this you want your happy ending and you only have so many pages to get there :)

For an amusing read, where you feel like you’re on vacation down under and maybe even falling in love a little with a rugged Aussie, give The Cowboy a shot. With its shorter length and beautiful descriptions, highlighted by comedic fish-out-of-water moments and an endearing opposites-attract storyline, it is sure to please.

I am loving The Hot Aussie Heroes Series. Every book is a unique, fun and sexy read. I received this book for an honest review. The Cowboy by: Margareta Osborn is the standard opposites attract story. City girl Carina and cowboy Jake may not have much in common but are drawn to each other none the less. Liked it alot.

This was a cute story of an American woman, Carina, thrown out of her element onto a Bush resort in Australia that is nothing like she expected - the saving grace being the handsome manager Jake. I really liked the setting of the story, and I thought everything was well described. Poor Carina has some trouble adjusting to this place, but eventually she sees it for its natural beauty. I didn't find a lot of chemistry between Jack and Carina at first, but as Carina warmed up to the environment I felt their attraction more. It was a sweet story. 3 stars.

Carina Chapman was on her way to a relaxing resort in the land down under, there's just one problem, her assistant booked her to the wrong resort.

Jake Richardson is trying to save is family ranch, so when it's proposed he turns it into a resort he does just that. There's just one problem, okay maybe a lot of problems; he has no idea how to run a resort and everything that could malfunction is malfunctioning, just before his very first client arrives, not to mention things need to be ready for the charity event for the Royal Flying Doctors.

Things are nowhere near what Carina expected upon arriving at Jake's "resort"; but what really endeared Carina as a character was that despite many of her reservations, she went with the flow and even tried to help Jake out.

Jake was an interesting character, you could feel his stress with trying to save the ranch, as well as trying not to be attracted to his first client.

The "Hot Aussie Heroes" series is a set of four book each telling a different story, but all focus around one major point, the Royal Flying Doctors. Some characters will make appearances in the other books.

Overall, you see both characters come together gradually as they get to know each other. If you're looking for some love quarrel drama, this book has none; it's a nice, short, feel good and relax kind of story.
