Description

I would sell my dragon soul to possess her…

From the moment I saw her, she held me enthralled. It was more than her beauty. It was in the very way she looked at the world.

The way she looked at me.

She saw me as no one ever had. The scars I tried to bury, the wounds no one else knew about. She saw the worst parts of me—and she didn’t look away.

Together we pursue a shared nemesis. While a terrifying foe stalks us at every turn.

Whatever enemy dares to get close, I will slay. Whatever path she walks, I will be beside her.

For I am hers. Utterly. Completely.

She’s my greatest temptation. The other half of my soul.

My mate.

New York Times and USA Today bestselling author Donna Grant delivers a powerful story of redemption, danger, and passion in the next chapter of the Dragon King series.

I would sell my dragon soul to possess her…

From the moment I saw her, she held me enthralled. It was more than her beauty. It was in the very way she looked at the world.

Katla is a Druid and for many many years lived in a valley filled with vines that would trap dragons. She finds out that a Star Person, Villette, manipulated her and finally breaks free of her. Merrill is an orange Dragon King and was held captive by Villette. Merrill and Katla both feel they need to prove themselves by defeating Villette. But while hunting her, a couple of more enemies start to pursue them. Merrill will do whatever it takes to stay with Katla.
These are such good books but are so hard to explain. Dragons. Strange entity. Forgiveness. Action. Steamy. Second chance for love.

I was honored to read this book (I absolutely love dragons) as an arc and I honestly enjoyed the story. This book has everything you look for in a fantasy novel.
I loved the characters and the depth of healing and emotional connection within this book. I will definitely be recommending it to anyone who is looking for their next adventure. I had such an amazing journey with this read and I will most definitely be checking out more reads by this author.

I received this as an ARC from Netgalley. Thank you so much!

This was such an entertaining read! Set against a historical backdrop, this book is perfect for people that enjoy possessive dragon males in an engaging story with emotional depth.

Couldn’t put this down once I started it and it lent itself as perfect escapism for my afternoon.

Pop on the kettle and get settled in for a world submerged with magic, mates and a whole lot of Scottish accents (if you have an inner monologue like myself it’s fabulous listening to the voices in your head as you read!). This book beautifully encapsulates Merrill’s and Katla’s past to be able to appreciate their journey throughout the pages of this book.

I was fortunate to receive Dragon Marked as an ARC which was such a pleasure to read - Donna balanced emotion with drama perfectly.

Love these dragon kings. This was Merrill and Katlas story! It was a good one, but then I haven’t read a bad one yet! Follow them as they set out to redeem themselves and maybe find love while they do!

I received a complimentary copy of this book from NetGalley. The opinions expressed in this review are completely my own. Thank you for allowing me to review

Dragon Market by Donna Grant is such a good story. I really enjoyed every second of this story. Such an amazing experience reading it!

This amazing story is Merrill and Katla's story. Katla was introduced in the Dragon Kings series in Dragon Born, which is another exceptional story in this series. Dragon Marked can be read as standalone, but to really comprehend the depth of Katla's backstory, I would highly recommend also reading Dragon Born. this love story between the King of Orange dragons and Katla, who is more than she originally seemed in Dragon Born, was beautiful, sad and joyous at the same time. Questions about "the entity" are answered and new ones arise. These little hints dropped in the story guaranteed I'll be reading the next book. Highly recommend this unique story!

The story:
A redemption journey ending in hea. I mean, can't get better!
The plot:
He was deceived by the enemy and feels he betrayed his kind, in pain, regretting his past decisions, and filled with rage.
She was led to believed dragons killed her family, and spent the last years of her life hunting them. Now that she knows the truth, feels gilty about the lifes she unfairly took.
Together, they embarc a travesy to find the real culprit of their sins and make her pay. Only they never expected to find a bigger threat and also fall in love in the process.

Let me begin telling you this book number 10th in a series. So there's A LOT-and I mean A LOT- of history in this world, which is probably reviewed in the previous books and you are not seeing. You can tell both mmc and fmc development goes a long way back, and it shows in the complexity of their feelings and relationships.
That being said, you can TOTALLY read this and understand the entirety of the story if you haven't read any of the previous books ( such as me), so kudos to Donna for it. You nailed it.

I loved the complexity of the world, the magic system, and how you get several races intertwined. It's really unique. Also loved the multiples pov's tho I prefer them to be identified as such. you learn who's talking on the first page of the character, but no name on the title.

🌶Spice lvl is open door, but there's not much along the story. You get THE scene, and it all goes done beautifully.

All in all, 4,5 stars out of 5 for me.⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️🌟

Definitely recommend if you love fantasy and romance stories ✨️

I received an ARC in exchange for an honest review. Yet another hit by one of my favorite authors. I can't wait for the next book by her. Highly recommend her work to everyone.

This is a great read.. So much turmoil and pain. Katla thinks she has nothing to lose. Saving three children is the first chink in her armor. Meeting Merrill yet another. The "entity" is a shocking thing and it's war against the dragons makes sense in the end. I loved the characters and their connections in this story.

So embarrassingly when I initially picked this book I didn’t realize it was part of a series. I was worried I wouldn’t be able to get into it because of that however that is not what I got at all. I was able to follow the story easily and loved the backdrop as well as the dragons of course. This is such a beautiful story I’m going to read the rest now. Would recommend for any avid fan of fantasy/Romantasy.

Merrill can’t seem to get a break: first Stonemore and Villette; then all sorts of self-doubts and anger issues. Meeting Katla seems to help but she has her own problems. In the midst of working to help each other (while simultaneously falling in love), they are suddenly attacked by several different evil beings and enemies. How they manage to save themselves and each other is the crux of this novel. However, I couldn’t help wondering if Merrill hadn’t already suffered enough before being subjected to the cruelty inflicted upon him in Dragon Marked. It is all a bit much.

This is definitely not a standalone novel; the back-story from previous books in this series is essential to better understanding what is going on. As always, Donna Grant ends the novel with an unexpected development and an Epilogue that hints at things to come. I’m looking forward to reading future novels in the world of the Dragon Kings.

This was such a good book! I loved every single moment of it. The cover is what hooked me at first and it definitely did not disappoint!

Rich and well developed fantasy world that see,s just at the tip of your fingers it is so real. Merrill finally gets his story, and no surprise that it is full of adventure, action, suspense, and dragons! Plus of course some very sizzling slow burn as he meets his mats. The invisible Entity blasts into the story, what the heck is it? And will it finally be defeated? Many tense and emotional moments, a must read!

Such a fun one, forbidden secrets, a shared enemy, and an impossible connection. I loved every part of this and can't wait for more.

Donna Grant's mesmerizing paranormal romance, "Dragon Marked", kept me hooked late into the night, eager to uncover what happens next.

The story brims with thrilling challenges and deeply emotional moments that will captivate both romantics and adventurers alike.

Mirrell, an empathetic and powerful Dragon King, and Kayla, a compassionate and beautiful Druid, are irresistibly drawn to each other from their very first encounter. With every turn of the page, their bond deepens as they help one another heal from past traumas.

Fans of the series will also appreciate the appearances of other Dragon Kings and their mates, whose stories were featured in earlier books. These characters play supportive roles that enrich the narrative of this exceptionally well-written tale.

Donna Grant masterfully concludes the story with a deeply satisfying happily ever after.

A special thank you to DL Grant LLC for providing this book for review consideration via NetGalley. All opinions are my own.

A beautiful continuation of a story line, filled with found family, redemption and fated mates. I loved the opportunity afforded to both the main characters in their redemption arc, but wish it had come with a bit more of their self-acceptance of their redemption, however I know there is another book coming in the series in which the opportunity may present itself. Overall, I would have loved more overall development with Kalta's powers, I felt her finding her powers felt a bit flat and would have loved to see more of her blossoming powers throughout the story. The book has a singular open door spicy scene, but it is well done and making you wish for more. The story does end in a slight cliffhanger, but thankfully the next book come out in July. I would recommend this as a quick, intriguing read for the fantasy lover.

Wow, just Wow!
This book is the continuation of Donna Grant’s Dragon Kings series. Our featured dragon Is Merrill, whom we heard talked about in her earlier Dark Kings series. In this story we learn how much Merrill has taken on over the millenniums. But hiding inside he is becoming more and more angry, enough so that he has distanced himself from the other dragons and the Kings. Wandering on Zora, he chances to see a woman who he feels he must meet. The woman is Katia, who help the evil Villette in her quest to destroy all dragons. With this setting up an incredibly interesting story which also brings in other characters that have been featured in prior books.
Dragon Marked is an excellent book, but if you haven’t read at least the prior books in the Dragon Kings series, you may not understand or appreciate all that is happening. But…if the storyline sounds interesting, start reading because every book builds on the ones before. Donna Grant has created and entire Dark Universe encompassing Celtic Warriors, Druids, Fae, Reapers, and Dragons. For the most enjoyment start at the very beginning with her Warriors series. I cannot wait for the next book in any of her series!
I was given an ARC through NetGalley, and this is my honest opinion.

Thank you NetGalley for the ARC!

Nowhere does it say this is book 9 in a series!! 💀 HA! I’m dead! Welp, though this is part of series, I still kept on reading and it ended up being like a stand alone! So that was nice!
However, I feel like as a reader, I should have read the previous books just so I have a better visual of characters, plot, and world building. I think I would have appreciated the greatness behind it! 😊❤️
The world building was FLAWLESS nonetheless! It was easy to imagine, simple yet complex, and the author gives you a visual for returning readers or new!
I do have to say…if you were hoping for ROMANTIC romance…you came to the wrong place. This romance is on an emotional level that will pull at your heartstrings and make you feel everything! The possessive dragon is a plus! 😮‍💨🤌🏼😍 Not only for yourself but for the characters!
I do wish there was some comedy mixed in with some banter from these characters…? I felt like it felt rushed almost. It did FEEEEEL like an enemies to lovers story. Like maybe the authors heart was just trying to put closure on some characters or side story from the series…? But I wouldn’t know cuz this is the only book I read! 🤷‍♀️
Also, Merrill darling, you need to TAKE your own emotional advice that you give others.
But again, we are being told the emotions, I wasn’t seeing them act them out soooo.

Loved reading the mesmerizing and spellbinding paranormal story. When Merrill leaves the Dragon Kings to find his enemy Villette, he meets Katla who is protecting three children. Read the highly recommended, wonderfully written, and a must read riveting story by the phenomenal author, Donna Grant.

Well now I have an entire backlog of TBR got this author! This is my first Donna Grant book and will not be my last. I've already added this entire series to my digital shelves. A fabulous fantasy with all sorts of different "creatures" including dragon shifters, druid , fae, and more in a fantastically built world. My only complaint is that the pacing seemed a little slow, but I also felt the urge to devour this book in 2 days. Sleep was sacrificed for this fun but heartfelt book where two people grieving losses and mistakes that were made come together to help one another through while fighting forces much bigger than them. Learning to ask for and accept help to overcome their own battles and the battles against evil forces that are pulling their world apart. An emotional and mildlysteamy book that's inspired me to read more from this author.

Back on Zora, back with our dragons, and finally—finally—it’s Merrill’s turn to take center stage. After playing the eternal supporting role in everyone else’s fiery drama, the spotlight is where it belongs. And oh, was it worth the wait.
Donna Grant, queen of the long game and even longer emotional whiplash, somehow manages again to drop a new villain worse than the last, as if her imagination runs on dragon fire instead of coffee. Every time I think, “She can’t possibly top the last threat,” she pulls out a new horror, and I’m left slack-jawed and clutching my emotional support blanket.
Katla and Merrill: two souls battered by the weight of their pasts, navigating not just treacherous terrain, but also the even more dangerous inner landscape of guilt, healing, and trust. Their journey is half action-packed thrill ride, half emotional therapy session—with dragons, obviously. One moment you're flying through firestorms, the next you're ugly crying and whispering “they deserve happiness” like it's a prayer.
Let’s be clear: this book is not gentle. It grabs you by the throat, spins you like a cyclone, breaks your heart into little glittering shards, and still manages to serve up a swoony HEA because, well, it’s Donna “Grant-ed” after all. Pun fully intended.
So here I am again, emotionally wrung out, mascara somewhere around my collarbone, and already desperate for the next installment. Because if you think anything is truly resolved, think again. Zora always has more secrets, and Donna Grant always has more dragons—and more ways to ruin us beautifully.

Donna did it again, as always another action packed, fast paced book full of love intreadue and amazing characters that grow and develop throughout the book. I can't say enough abou this book or her work as always she is a MUST READ author for me and I will pick up anything she puts out into the book world.

BRAVO on another amazing story

This was my first read by Donna Grant and I absolutely devoured it!! She has such a unique way of crafting complex and charming characters that you cannot help but fall in love with. Not to mention the fantasy world that is equal parts mystical and engaging while also carrying parrallels with how we view our world in the present. The romance was scorching hot (no pun intended) and had me swooning across every page! This is definitely an author you do not want to miss if you are an avid fan of romance, fantasy, and compelling characters that are guaranteed to sweep you off your feet.

Criteria for me on 5 STAR storylines is that they cause a variety of emotions plus I can’t stop thinking about the book or talking about it. Author Donna Grant is the queen at writing storylines that do this.

In previous books to this series main characters Katla and Merrill played key roles, and I began to wonder if they would be a match and get their own book. Both have done things they wanted redemption for, and both know that doing what it takes could or would end in their death. Enemies abound in this book keeping the reader enthralled till the end.

I was thrilled that Katla and Merrill finally got their story and though I felt the beginning of the storyline was slower than I wanted, I am delighted with this book. It was full of redemption, family love, new love, and lots of raw emotion for the reader. Make sure to have some Kleenex close by, you will need it.

Donna Grant always delivers. It is exactly what you expect, and I love her for that. This is not the first in the series and I could really use another one already.

I couldn’t put this book down! The story was gripping, the characters felt real, and every chapter pulled me deeper. Totally worth the read!

This author has built a complex world but the book was strong enough on its own you don’t have to read the others in the series to understand what’s happening. This book is based on redemption vengeance and love as the two characters find themselves on a journey to discover the truth and deliver justice

A redemption story about resilience and finding a connection in the most unexpected place (not to mention steamy Scottish accents). Merrill and Katla are two souls with heavy pasts that learn to trust one another over the course of this emotional, action-packed ride of a book. A fantastic read for everyone in need of a dragon of their own.

This is my first ever ARC read and I am so grateful to the author and publisher for taking a chance on me!

I did some digging and it didn’t seem like the other books in the series were a necessary read before starting this one. While I’m sure it would have provided tons of background I don’t feel as though I was lost in any way because this is the first of the series that I read. I appreciated the explanations and background so it was able to be read as a standalone, That said I will 100% be reading the rest of the books in the series and am excited to read the next book in a few months! (Unrelated but I also REALLY appreciate not having to wait a year or more for the next book…need my fantasy fix!)

I loved the writing style once I got used to reading the Scottish accent, it was a bit of an adjustment but not difficult to overcome. The story building and world building were fantastic! The journey this book took me on was better than many I’ve read recently. The MMC and FMC were a great pairing to overcome the major challenge and conquer the MMC’s inner turmoil. This book also got me right in the feels, even knowing the HEA was coming I cried more than once during this read! The spice level was just right for me and I feel like it added to the story rather than becoming the main focal point which was perfect because the story was so good!

Overall 5 stars and I can’t wait to get into the rest of the story!

An amazing book about revenge and redemption but with dragons - what more could you want?! This follows a druid named Katia and a dragon named Merrill who work together (reluctantly on her part!) to kill their shared enemy. Its a continuation of the story, so I would recommend reading the other books in the series so you dont get confused. This universe/series has got such a unique backstory and includes so many magical beings/creatures, such as druids, star people and fae, so its a really fun world.

This is a voluntary review of an advanced copy.

It has been awhile since I read Henry's story so I kind of forgot about Katla but I have been waiting for Merrill's book for a long time! I really wanted to know why he stayed with Villette when he didn't have to stay. Fortunately, there is much background information given so if you have not read or it has been awhile, you can get caught up quickly.

This book is such a great chance for Merrill and Katla to face their past and their guilt and realize that they can have a better future and that they are perfect for each other.

I loved that the book also answered one question so we now know about the entity and why it seemed to hate dragons and Star People but leave other races alone. Unfortunately, Villette is still on the loose!

This was an action packed book as Katla and Merrill tried to find Villette - each for their own reason. Katla wanted revenge for her years of servitude to Villette and being duped into killing many of the dragons. They each had their own guilt and were able to work through it during this journey.

Looking forward to the next book and new excitement!

Dragon Marked is an great book, but if you haven’t read the other books in the Dragon Kings series, you probably won’t understand a lot of what is going on and who the supporting characters are in this book. This story was long over due and well worth the wait! I highly recommend this series to anyone thinking about starting it!

I didn’t realize this was a book from a series but wow I still love it! I love the world building and how easy it was to catch up to who characters are

Dragon Marked by Donna Grant
Dragon Kings #9

The complex and often complicated universe created by Donna Grant includes a wide variety of paranormal beings that have their own laws, customs, and belief. I have not read all of the book from beginning to end but find myself being able to slip back in without trouble even if I have missed a book from time to time.

The dragon kings series has a large backstory that was summed up and referred to in this book well enough for a new reader to probably follow but having some background did help me when reading Katla and Merrill’s finding of one another as soul mates.

The story is an action-packed emotional thrill-ride from beginning to end that had me rooting for the couple and the dragons as they saved children, fought for their lives, were tortured, reconnected with family, and fell in love. Both Merrill and Katla feel guilty for past actions and seek redemption even though they both were manipulated by Villetta, a star person with a cruel streak. They seek to right wrongs, end evil beings, and find their way into a meaningful future.

The plot was well crafted, pace was perfect, setting perfectly described, characters easy to see and relate to, and the story excellently crafted with a twist at the end that evoked emotion. The ending indicated that Villetta plans to cause more chaos and gave me an idea of who will star in the next book of the series.

Did I enjoy this book? Yes
Would I read more in this series? Yes

Thank you to NetGalley and the author for the ARC – This is my honest review.

A wonderful read!
This novel drew me in from the very first page and kept me hooked until the end. The characters were vibrant and relatable, the writing was engaging, and the story had just the right balance of heart and humor. Highly recommend!
Many thanks to NetGalley, the author, and the publisher for my ARC. All opinions are my own.

Well, I certainly didn’t see this one coming! of course, I had read about Vilette and Miena and the terrible things they were doing on Zora. But I was a bit surprised that we would have a story about Katla. She was the one who helped Vilette to capture all those dragons in the magic forest, including Melisse (Dragon Born).

But of course, Donna is able to give Katha a history and reason for her betrayal and now her remorse. And Merill, poor Merill. He has endured so much. (why, thank you Donna, for all the boxes of tissues well spend)

This story is bittersweet, full of unexpected outcomes and heartbroken characters. And yet, when all hope seems lost. Donna shows you it is important to keep your faith and to fight to the end. Five out of five stars from me and a special thank you to Netgalley for providing the arc.
