My heart was in my throat the entire time I read this. The raw, tender chemistry between two deeply damaged people finding safety in each other made the high-stakes MMA drama hit so much harder.

Could. Not. Put. Down. This one had a little bit of everything I love - found family, strong(er than she appears) FMC, tough on the outside/soft on the inside MMC, suspense, etc. Very unique plot. You end up feeling like you know the characters. Hope to read more from this author.

Wow. Loved. Loved. Loved. Loved. What a breath of fresh air!! I am not an MMA fight fan, but this book kind of made me one. I loved how real and raw the characters and their problems were written. Not many books are brave enough to dive into the darker, relationship gray areas, that this book tackled. Highly recommend.

There are not enough words to express how much this book means to me. Kai and Savannah’s story isn’t a cookie cutter romance, it isn’t a whirlwind of happiness and contentment. It’s raw, painful, dark, and deeply emotional. Savannah’s pain feels so real, because it *is* real. Her traumatic past is one similar in ways to so many of us in real life. A hard upbringing, violence from those you trust, a long road to recover afterwards. Her walking into that MMA gym towards Lexi, Josh, and especially Kai, was the first step towards real healing. The found family in this story was so tender and natural, Josh and Lexi’s immediate calling to protect her as much as they protect Kai was so beautiful. Kai’s backstory and his fight for redemption was the perfect match for Savannah. His hard exterior/soft interior, grit, and courage to keep going was inspiring. This book is the perfect example of the quote, “You are not the sum of your weaknesses and failures….”. Living a life of pure love, joy, and contentment is worth fighting for.

What a beautiful story of fighting to take your life back and finding the true love of your life. This book had all the emotions and so many beautiful moments. I had a hard time putting this book down.

I devoured in 24 hours! I just could not put this book down.
When Savannah signs up for a self-defense class her world stopped when Kai agreed to train her. When the trauma of their pasts catches up with our MMC and FMC they are able to support and work through so tough dark times. Everything in this book felt so real that I feel like I know these people IRL.

This was the debut novel by this author, and I look forward to reading more of her books in the future truly enjoyed her writing style.
Looking for a great sport romance with a bit of edge I highly recommend this book!
