Bloggers love Beyond Reach!

"Once again the author took me inside the book and made me feel what the characters felt... I was hooked from start to finish. I loved this story and I can't wait for book 3 to come out!" Kim. Superbookgirl13.
"This book managed to surprise me quite a few times and the twists towards the end might have been the most surprising of them all, it was really well done." Lola. Lola's Book Reviews.
"Trying to think of words to describe this book. Wow, epic, brilliant, OMG, just don't cover it. If you liked Book 1 you will love this book." Karla, Goodreads Reviewer.
"OMG. That is pretty much all I can say to properly express this book. I loved the first book very much, but this....*input words when thought of.* Even if I give a book 5 stars, it doesn't mean that it completely floored me, however, this book sucked me in and left me speechless." Amber. Paradise Of Pages.
"Page one and the action, characters, twists and tension just kept bursting out.....Talk about a story coming to life under the skill of a brilliant author! Siobhan Davis' world goes beyond gripping, nail-biting and gut-clenching into a realm of action and atmosphere on steroids." Dianne, Tome Tender.
"It's been so long since I've been this emotionally invested in a book/series. Beyond Reach is fast-paced and heart-wrenching. In other series, it feels as though love triangles are just thrown in for the heck of it but Davis doesn't do that, and it's really quite refreshing. " Danielle. RamblingB00ks.wordpress.com

Beyond Reach takes place some time after True Calling, Arianna has settled into her new home with rebel organization Clementia, but not everything is well. Her sister, mom and fiancé are still on Novo and she's withholding the information entrusted to her by her father to bargain for their lives.
Even though it was a while ago that I read the first book there are enough reminders and hints to who the characters are that I easily got back into this story. The story moves a bit slowly in the first part, but it does give us a sense of Clementia and how they aren't as good as they seem to be. I like the shades of grey and wondering whom can be trusted and who not. There is one scene that made me a bit uneasy and it really shows the lengths they will go to obtain the information and it's horrifying.
The characters are in a difficult situation and the author certainly doesn't hold back to show the difficulties and the horrors of this world. It makes it feel real and even a bit dark sometimes and I really wouldn't want to live in that world.
Just like the first book this book is split up into 3 parts, part 1 and 3 are told from Arianna her point of view and part two is told from Zane his point of view. I thought this way of telling the story really worked and I liked seeing both their point of views. While part 1 feels a bit slow, in part 2 and 3 the story really picks up and the last 50 pages I had to read in one sitting as so much is going on and I had to know what happened next.
The ending is a cliffhanger again, but it's a good one that makes me really curious about the third book and what it means. Beyond Reach managed to surprise me multiple times, often I thought I understood was going on, but later we learn things that shine more light on certain things and reveal more. And only at the end do you feel like you understand what went on and then the cliffhanger ending makes me question everything again.
One thing I like about this book is the great cast of characters. There are many side characters who play a role and in this book who meet even more of them, not everyone plays a big part, but they do fill up the story and make it feel more realistic. Some characters are likeable and others are despicable human beings. Some of the side characters I was particulary fond of where doctor Hann, Raina and Ruby. Then there is Arianna, Zane and Call and all three of them go through some difficult things in this book and I really felt for them.
I disliked the constant hostility between Ari and Isla, I could kinda see their point, but sometimes it seems like they didn't even try and where inclined to believe the worst of each other. It rubbed me wrong and I just wish they could try and see the other their point of view. I did like Isla in the first book, but I liked her a bit less in this one, although in the part from Zane's point of view we do get a better understanding of why she acts the way she does and at the end she does show a side of herself that I liked.
Then there's the love triangle, I honestly have no idea which team I am. Siobhan makes me doubt and switch sides quite often. And then when I think I have it figured out, something happens that makes me wonder if the other boy has a chance after all. Both boys are great for her and could make her happy and I think I would like who's she ends up with no matter which one of the two it is. I used to dislike love triangles, but Siobhan proves with this series that they can be done well. The love triangle feels realistic and Arianna really is in a difficult situation and she genuinely cares for both of them. Arianna stays true to herself and is honest to both guys, which is something I really liked. I also liked how Zane got more chance to shine in this book, but Ari her relationship with Call also grows stronger.
The world building is nicely woven into the story, at first we learn more about Clementia and their organization, but we also get a glance of how earth is doing and we even get a view of a ranger town. There are no info dumps and the author shows us these pieces of world building interwoven in the story. Towards the end even more is revealed and it feels like everything we learned is put into a different light. Also there are hints that there is even more we don't know and I can't wait to learn more in the last book!
To conclude: I really enjoyed Beyond Reach, it is a great sequel to True Calling. The first part was a bit slow, but after that the pace really picks up and I wanted to keep reading to find out what would happen next. Al the characetrs are in a difficult situation and there are some nice twists and turns that I didn't see coming. This book managed to surprise me quite a few times and the twists towards the end might have been the most surprising of them all, it was really well done. I really liked the characters and there are some interesting side characters as well. The love triangle continues and I have no clue who is going to win or who I want to win. Beyond Reach ends with a cliffhanger, that makes me really excited for this third book and I can't wait to read the last book in this series.

Brilliant and amazing just do not do the book justice at all. This book is just wow. Zayn's patience and loving nature just proves the bond between him and Ari. Ari gains her memories back by the end and realises everything. She remembers everything and she tells Zane she needs him. However the book ends there. We do not hear him reply. We don't know if he's even still alive. We don't get to find out any of the new memories brought to life by the removal of the vita. Hopefully all of this and more will be covered in the next books which I can't wait to read! They're all gonna be just as amazing as this one.
Sioban is a brilliant writer. This is the only book I've ever cried about or gotten angry and so emotional about. The longing and love and pain that you could literally feel radiating from Zane yet he still protects her and loves her with his entirety. You can literally feel Ari's guilt and despair rolling off the pages. At the end of the book she realises that she needs Zane and loves Zane too. I just hope shes realised in time and can manage to get through to him and let him know.
In the next book I really hope Zane and Ariana end up together because even though he's done nothing but prove he's trustworthy, I'm still curious and skeptical of Cal.
From what we can see Ari and Zane belong together. I just hope Zane can hold out a little longer.
10/10.. all in all a very good book. I will be reading the next books in the series.

Wow, another good read from Siobhan Davis.
I'm already a massive fan of book #1 (True Calling) and this book has lived up to its expectation and more.
This book is action packed and hard to put down.
Ariana is now back on Earth with Zane, but Cal is still on Novo alongside her Mom and Sister.
She's shown evidence of Cal's betrayal and she's thoroughly confused about it, further more she's started to develop feelings for Zane.
Towards the end of the book, we were told that Ariana has started to regain all of her memories. She's remembered something very significant and life-changing. What is it and how does it affect her relationship with Cal / Zane?
I can't wait to find out in the next book!!!

This story is getting super good! I'm loving it! Can't wait for the next book! I love dystopia stories, so this story definitely keeps me interested, and I enjoy the sci-fi aspect. I love how the story is so complete, it's just not about the romance, it's much more involved. The romance is still very present, but so many more events are happening, that it doesn't become cloying. I'm not a huge fan of love triangles, but I'm not quite annoyed with it in this series. I do still really dislike Isla, I'm totally okay if she ends up sacrificing herself for the others, totally cool with that! If in the end Ariana doesn't choose Zane, I am very much hoping he doesn't end up with Isla, actually I hope no one ends up with Isla, well maybe Cal's brother, that would be interesting! I'm okay with that scenario. Something I hate in books is when whoever the leading lady doesn't choose automatically falls in love with someone else! If you were so in love with the leading lady, how is it that you can just fall in love with someone else so quickly! I hope that doesn't happen in this series! I'm going to try to be vague about something I don't want to happen in the story, so I don't ruin it for anyone, so be forewarned that this may be a slight bit spoilery. I hope a certain situation turns out to be just an affair, and not a related issue, and also I'm wondering if Cal were to regain is memories, would there be a girl he liked before; I would hate that!, okay that's all I'm going to say about that! I liked the alternating POV chapters, but I did skim through some of Zane's chapters because of a certain someone, but I still like getting glimpses into other people's minds. Maybe there can be some chapters for Cal in the next book! I'm still not sure who I want Ariana to pick, but I suppose I'm leaning towards Cal. All I'm hoping is that whoever it is, doesn't just find some other girl, just let them be heartbroken, then they can come to terms with, and it will be implied that they will be just fine! I will definitely read the next book, and I really enjoy Siobhan Davis' writing, so I will look into other books by her as well!

I was pleasantly surprised by how much I enjoyed the True Calling by Siobhan Davis. I was expecting your typical dystopian YA book, but Davis created a unique take on the genre that left me with a lot of questions that I was eager to have answered. Thankfully, Davis was nice enough to reach out to me and offer me an advanced copy of the follow up book, Beyond Reach so I could quickly continue with this intriguing story.
Beyond Reach does it again, builds an intriguing story and answers certain questions from the first book, before creating a bunch of additional questions and a hefty cliff hanger at the end that makes you want to jump right in to the next book and continue trying to figure out what is happening.
Ariana continues to be a strong female lead, her determination and love for her family driving her forward through some pretty unthinkable situations. There is a lot more of a love-triangle in this installment, however. It was alluded to before, but now it takes priority through most of this book and Ariana spends a lot of time being confused about her current feelings for Cal and her former feelings for Zane. It’s done in a relatively acceptable way, but sometimes I feel it’s too much of a dominating focal point and the rest of the story gets lost in that for a while. But that usually happens, so it’s not unexpected.
There are a lot of rebellion politics laid out and explained here, as a lot of second books seem to do. This was more of a stepping stone to set up some of the larger situations that will likely unravel in the third book. It’s an interesting premise, definitely a storyline I want to see continue and the characters are strong enough to close out the series. And the ending, that cliff hanger ending is a blunt slap to the face and I can’t wait to see this all come together.

I was thrilled to be asked by the author to read and review, if anyone who reads this follows my blog actively, knows that I am a HUGE fan of The Calling (book 1).
This book picks up where book 1 left off. Ariana is on Earth, without Cal and her family. She's involved with a rebel group called Clementia, which to me seemed just as bad as being on Nova, she traded one slave government for another.
I really cant go into too much detail within the book, you'll just have to read it to find out for yourself, I would hate to give away spoilers, but there were lots of twists and turns and surprise reveals in this one. Lots of action, mixed with inward turmoil of being with Zane, and being without Cal. Conflicts with other characters and rebel members, and a cliffhanger ending of course!
Once again the author took me inside the book and made me feel what the characters felt, and the imagination behind the writing was simply amazing. I was hooked from start to finish. I loved this story, I can't wait for book 3 to come out!

I feel like I lived three lifetimes in the span of this book!!! Beyond Reach by Siobhan Davis is a continuation of her series True Calling and is one intense read from start to finish. Ariana is on Earth, having been rescued by Zane and Clementia. She still carries the information her late father entrusted her with and her sixth sense is screaming not to give it up. Cal is still on Novo, having been left there to save herself, the Clementia crew and anyone else that was able to escape (which included her little brother Deacon and his sister Mel). Can Ari save her mom, sister and Cal from Novo, can she uncover what is really going on at Clementia, and when everything turns upside down who will she turn to?
Ari is one of those characters that you love and hate all at the same time. She is brave, strong-willed, and determined but also a bit stubborn, overly dramatic and wholly confused on who she should believe. Presented with evidence that Cal betrayed her on Novo prior to their escape, she doesn't know who to trust and she certainly doesn't trust the Clementia leaders. So she keeps secret the information her father gave her, protecting it with her life, only telling Zane where it really is.
Then there is Zane, who I just feel so incredibly sad for. He did not get to go with Ari and her family to Novo, so he has all his memories intact while Ari didn't even know he existed until she started having dreams of him. She is the love of his life and all he wants is for her to remember, thinking that it will fix everything. He is devoted to her and her family in a way that is both endearing and heartbreaking. He is Ari's constant and because she doesn't remember him, he takes the role of her best friend.
And Cal...I honestly don't know how I feel about him. As I said in my review of book one, Cal is handsome, charming, and seems to really care about Ari, but it is borderline obsession and not just on his part. I feel Ari is more obsessed than in love with him and I have to wonder if it has something to do with the hormones they were given during the Calling. Also with Cal I just don't trust him, something is off and I'm determined to figured it out!
I wonder if it's morally right to allow one boy to comfort me when all my thoughts are consumed with another?
I think that quote sums up everything I have to say about the love triangle that I predicted would start in this book. As I'm indifferent to Cal, I actually don't mind it and I'm obviously rooting for Zane (#TeamZane)! The plot though revolves more around Clementia and the information they wanted from Ari's father. Clementia is the head of the rebellion on Earth and something is shady about them as Ari's sixth sense tells her.
Overall I LOVED Beyond Reach just as much as I did book one of the series and I can't wait for the conclusion in August! Suspense, romance, and lots of action in this book along with more than a few plot twists :D make it one intense, can't-sit-it-down read. If you enjoy science fiction, dystopians, and young adult literature, put this one on your list. You don't want to miss it!

I really loved this book so very much. I actually liked Cal a lot more in this book, and felt really sorry for him in this book due to what happens to him. And I really felt bad for Zane as well. I hope Ari makes up her mind soon, am not sure who I what her to pick thou I am leaning towards Zane at this point. Very interesting book with a lot of action and adventure. I can't wait to see how it all ends, especially after the cliffhanger.
I was given this wonderful book to read by the publisher and just for given my honest opinion on how I felt about the book.

Actual rating: 4.5
I would have given this a 5 but I think some parts were too rushed. Some scenes defiantly should have been dragged out more.
There were some emotional moments in this book that didn't really hit me because I think it went by too fast. she just watched her mom die and it was like two sentences this book wasn't long so I feel it could have totally been dragged out a bit.
Other than that I really loved this book
Cal I still don't like him. His brother is even worse tho. And what about his dad? So weird. And what if her dad is the father of her baby? And what if her mom cheater with him and she is actually cal's sister!?? Don don donnnn
Zane oh my baby I love him. I don't want him to end up with Issa. I know she's really struggling but you shouldn't be with someone because you feel bad.
Ending: gaaaaaahhhh I need to knowwww! I can't believe she got her memories back!!! I hope she chooses Zane after this lol
Overall such a great book. I need the next one noooow

Loved, Loved, Loved this book and I can't not wait to read the next book in the series!!!!

Ari is back on Earth living with the rebels, separated from her family and Cal who are being held on Novo. She's finally reunited with Zane who hopes her feelings that she once had for him will return. Things back on Earth aren't good, Ari holds information that everyone would kill to get hold of but she knows that's her only bargaining chip she's got to persuade the Rebels to help save Cal and her family. But the Rebel leader is getting impatient and threatens Ari's life so she decides she needs to leave with the few people she trusts and that's where we meet the other resistances...Can not wait for book 3!

I am totally loving this series!! It reminds me of Matched, but interplanetary. It could totally be a hot CW series. :-)

I really enjoyed this series so far and I am very thankful that the author contacted me and offered me the first two and the novella. I can't wait to read the next one and see what happens!

I have to say to you… I liked True Calling but this one was even better. This book starts where True Calling finished and with Ariana back to earth without her family and without Cal. Throughout the book you can see her development as a character and her struggle about who she should trust and how she feels about Cal and Zane. So yeah, it was great to see her growth in this book. However, there were sometimes that I wanted to scream at her for some bad decisions. If you read my True Calling you might know that I didn’t trust Cal but meanwhile I’ve read the novella Lovestruck and I actually thought that I was wrong and I was happy about that. But then I’ve read this book and I wasn’t totally wrong about not trusting Cal. He did some stupid things but I now understand why he did it. And then there’s Zane. I love his bond with Ariana and how we can see how much he loves her with his actions. Also, after the cliffhanger that this book had I’m really excited to see the story is going take Ariana, Zane and Cal and I’m mostly excited to know what Ariana remembered. I’m pretty sure that it’s going to be a big part of the next book. Another thing is that there is so much happening in this book that there isn’t a boring part in this book because there is always something that happens that changes the direction of the story and I really liked it. My only problem with that was that sometimes it was a little bit rushed but overall I was really happy with this book. There were moments that I couldn’t leave my book because something would happen and I needed to know what was coming next. I’m talking to you Chapter 11 last sentence… I was thinking that this thing could happen but I really thought that I was wrong so that wasn’t expected at all.
Overall, I really enjoyed this book and I’m really excited to see how it’s going to end. The plot was amazing and the author’s writing was pretty good. I actually think that Siobhan Davis writing improved in this book. If you like this type of books and if you like to be surprised read this book.
