I can't even put into words how much I adored this. It was educational, heartwarming, and beautiful to flip through. This is perfect for any child who loves dogs or space! There's lots of info about space rovers without being overly complicated or too difficult for younger kids to understand.
I wasn't expecting the emotional bits towards the end to be there, but it really sold the book for me. This is truly a wonderful book and I will absolutely be purchasing it for some of my teacher friends to add to their little libraries!

A wonderful children's book! Cute, humorous, and educational. Adorable illustrations throughout. A fun way to teach your child about NASA and lunar rovers with the help of a cute basset hound! A perfect addition to any home or classroom library.
Thank you to the publisher for an eARC via NetGalley!

Space story & Science
This was such a cute story that wove in selling points from the dogs point of view. An original story that strategically educates the reader throughout and with space and NSAS insights in the end.
The illustrations caught my attention visually and nostalgically made me think of books that generated that same reaction from me during story time in school.
I received a copy of this book from Taylor Woolley and Familius. I am voluntarily leaving a review. All opinions are my own.

Thank you Netgalley for the opportunity to read this ARC! My 7 year old absolutely adored this to the point that she is insisting we buy a physical copy when it releases. The art was absolutely stunning and the story itself was incredibly cute and heartwarming. My daughter is interested in space and found the information on the rovers and other space facts at the end a fun edition. She loved the design of the man dog, but lost it at the dachshund on page 16. This was a great book to read for her age range and a really cute story that had some real facts mixed in. We definitely be securing a physical copy of this after its release date.

I absolutely loved this. It was informative about both dogs and space, featured the Artemis lunar mission, and was all around cute. 10/10. I'll definitely be getting this not just for my library but for my kiddo. Thanks to netgalley and the publisher for letting me read!

Review from my six year old: “Such a silly book! Rover is so cute and his letter shows he would be good in space with his human.”
Cute dog/space puns.

What an amazing book! I was so impressed with the way the author tied together the fictional dog Rover with a “Space Rover.” The letter writing and subsequent letter editing, mixed with factual information about space travel and dogs is done seamlessly. The subtle jokes will not be missed by parents and will be another layer that kids can engage with. Added to an already really strong book is the back matter with more Rover information!

What a fun space-themed book!
This had beautiful and adorable illustrations. I also enjoyed all the puns as well. This had a great ending that young readers will appreciate and included some informative material about moon exploration and rovers in the back matter!
I'd love using this in a space unit or space-themed storytime.

This was such a fun fictional children’s book. It was fictional while still being educational, which I love! It is uplifting, inspirational, hopeful, and adorable.
Earth Rover is the story of a dog, Rover, whose human is an astronaut. His dream is to become the next Lunar “Rover”, so that he may travel to space with his human, who he misses so very much when she is on her missions.
Rover writes a letter to NASA full of all the reasons he would be a better rover than the robots they currently use. It is FULL of dog puns, which I personally adore.
The pictures were beautiful, added to the story, and provided tons of context and discussion opportunity.
I was not expecting this book to be educational, but the author uses this book as an opportunity to teach young children about space and space travel. The end of this book provides fun facts about previous lunar missions, space exploration, and (of course!) lunar rovers.
*** Thank you to Netgalley and Familius for a free copy in exchange for my honest review.

Let me start by saying this: Rover, I'd hire you in a heartbeat. Move over NASA, I got this one.
More seriously, in Earth Rover, author/illustrator Taylor Woolley weaves the story of Rover, a dog who thinks space rovers are pups like him. With delightful puns and pictures that capture the double meaning of Rover's words, this story is told as if the title character is writing resume (and in my opinion, a very successful one at that). I especially enjoyed how the characters reflected a range of identities.
With a fact sheet at the end, this book is perfect for kids who love space and those wishing to introduce them to the subject matter in a fun, yet informational way.
Thank you Netgalley for this ARC, and thanks to the author as well for creating a story I would be more than happy to share with my child when she's old enough.
5 stars.

I absolutely loved Earth Rover! This story is heartwarming, educational, and perfect for dog or space lovers alike. The space facts are woven in so naturally that kids won't even realize they are learning. The illustrations are adorable and I loved the addition of facts on rovers and moon explorations at the end! I will be purchasing a copy for my library (great to pair with a space science unit) and at home for my space loving toddler!
Thank you NetGalley for the advance copy!

I grabbed Earth Rover because of the adorable cover—our household is all about hounds! So glad I did, because this book is a real gem. It’s such a cute story told from a dog’s perspective, which is perfect for teaching older elementary students about perspective. My toddler absolutely loved it, and I appreciated how the humor and easy-to-follow story make it great for young readers. The illustrations are fantastic, and the addition of factual information at the end of the book is a wonderful touch that extends its appeal to older readers.
As someone who sometimes struggles with reading picture books digitally, I did have some formatting issues with the Kindle version—pages split awkwardly, and the colors were off in the NetGalley reader, making the text hard to read. However, I’m confident it will look great in print. I wouldn’t hesitate to add Earth Rover to my home library or my classroom collection. Thanks to NetGalley and Familius for the ARC!

This book will be perfect for our Space unit! I loved Rover’s comparisons of himself to the rovers that NASA uses. At the end of the book I loved the facts and information about real rovers. This is a fun way to introduce space to my 1st graders.

This is an adorable picture book about a sweet Basset hound who wants to go to space with his human. The illustrations are beautifully done and very engaging. I will definitely be purchasing this one for children's section and it will be a perfect read aloud for our preschool's space themed week!
