Description
Prowl, the second book in USA TODAY bestselling author Colleen Coble's Sanctuary series (following Ambush), delivers exactly what her fans want: the ideal blend of suspense that keeps you on the edge of your seat with just the right amount of romance. Perfect for fans of Laura Dave, Allison Brennan, and Dani Pettrey.
When a worker at the Sanctuary is discovered dead in the tiger enclosure, authorities assume the big cat killed her. But when the autopsy shows she was killed by a lethal dose of anesthetic delivered by a tranquilizer gun, suspicion falls on Blake Lawson, co-owner of the Sanctuary. Blake has his hands full trying to clear his name as well as get the Sanctuary finances back in the black. When a soil test turns up traces of rare earth, he's even more puzzled. Is someone trying to run them out of business to get to whatever is under the ground?
Meanwhile, wildlife veterinarian Paradise Alden is determined to find the brother she only recently learned even existed. When the results of the DNA test she ran mysteriously disappear from her portal before she can read them, she realizes someone must not want her to know the truth. A break-in at her new apartment is alarming, but she tries to pass it off as someone trying to scare her away. She refuses to turn tail and run when she is desperate for answers.
For Blake, the only solid ground is his relationship with Paradise, and he longs to propose--but how can they even think about starting a life together with so many forces working against them?
Colleen Coble's Prowl combines gripping suspense with closed-door romance and includes intriguing mysteries from both the past and present, sabotage and danger, second-chance romance, found family, and themes of overcoming pain and how the past doesn't have to define you.

I will forever enjoy Colleen Coble books. I just finished her latest one, Prowl. It’s out later this year. Watch out for it.

Better than the first one. Blake and Paradise are back in action in this book. Someone is setting Blake to fail while Paradise is longing for a familial connection. Great job, Colleen.

Colleen Coble is a go to author for me. i love all her books. but i think this is her best series yet!! I can't wait for the next one!

Amazing. Captivating. Another great Colleen Coble story that will keep you focused even after finishing.
I received an advanced reader’s copy from Thomas Nelson and Netgalley. Opinions are my own.

5 Stars – My First Colleen Coble Read, But Definitely Not My Last
Prowl was my first introduction to Colleen Coble’s work, and now I can confidently say I’ll be diving headfirst into the rest of her books! This story had everything I look for in a suspense novel—mystery, emotional depth, a hint of romance, and a unique setting that added layers to the intrigue.
From the opening pages, the story pulled me in with a chilling and unusual murder at a wildlife sanctuary. What seemed like a tragic accident involving a tiger quickly spiraled into something far more sinister, and I was hooked. The pacing was tight, the stakes were high, and I never knew who to trust.
Blake and Paradise were fantastic leads, each carrying personal struggles that made them both relatable and compelling. I especially loved the emotional threads running through Paradise’s journey to uncover her past—family secrets, missing DNA results, and a break-in that made it clear someone was trying to stop her. It added a deeply personal layer to the suspense.
The balance between the romantic tension and the danger surrounding them was spot on—nothing too overdone, but just enough to make me root for their future even as threats closed in. The themes of second chances, found family, and healing from the past gave this thriller a lot of heart.
Prowl is everything I want in a romantic suspense—and now I’m off to add the rest of Coble’s books to my reading list!
Thanks to Ms Coble, NetGalley, and the publisher for this ARC in exchange for an honest review.

The second book of the series and it is just as good as the first. It has everything from nail biting danger with a little bit of romance. I was so excited to read Colleen Coble latest book and I was not disappointed. Returning to the Sanctuary and the characters was a welcome pleasure. I absolutely adore the animals!

PROWL is the second novel in the Sanctuary series by COLLEEN COBLE, and another exciting story that takes place at the Lawson’s Sanctuary Wildlife Preserve in Nova Cambridge, Alabama. We come across many of the characters from the first book, including Paradise Alden, her soon to be fiance Blake Lawson, his mother Jenna and younger brothers, Isaac and Levi, who are all desperate to save the preserve and all the animals against vicious threats and even murder, which are causing financial problems from bad online reviews. Somehow Paradise’s unfortunate childhood, largely spent in foster care after her parents’ murder when she was eight, is involved, as she is being threatened as well…….
The descriptions of the setting and the animals are really lovely, and there is also a sweet romance. I particularly like the strong Christian message of trusting God running through the story. I am looking forward to the next book in the series.
I do not want to tell you any more for fear of spoiling your read.
I cannot recommend this gripping and inspirational novel highly enough.
I was given a free copy of the book by NetGalley from Thomas Nelson. The opinions in this review are completely my own.

Very interesting story line. Characters were good and developed well with the story. The suspense was on point and kept you wanting to keep reading. Always enjoy book by Colleen Coble and highly recommend reading this author.

This story is perfectly suited for readers who crave a gripping and intricately plotted suspense story, enhanced by a subtle yet compelling romantic element. Within its pages, individuals driven by profound personal desires for truth and redemption find their paths unexpectedly intertwined. Their separate investigations and journeys of self-discovery lead them into a perilous arena where the ruthless machinations of corporate sabotage cast long shadows, and unseen threats lurk at every turn. As the characters delve deeper into their respective quests, they uncover a web of deceit and danger that not only jeopardizes their own well-being but also forces them to confront the hidden undercurrents of a world where ambition and corruption reign. The delicate dance between suspense and romance adds another layer of complexity to the unfolding events, promising a reading experience that is both thrilling and emotionally resonant.

This is the second book in the Sanctuary series This book grabbed me from the start and I really enjoyed reading more about Paradise and Blake. My only complaint is I have to wait till the next book to find out who murdered her parents. I enjoyed the kids and the animals at the wild life park. But as usual this is a great story that I recommend.

I was so grateful there was a follow up to Ambush and Prowl did not disappoint! Colleen continued the deep character and plot development. She presented so many questions and so many twists and turns. Just when you think you might have it all figured out, she adds a new development. This was another winner from Colleen!
I received a complimentary copy of this book. Opinions expressed in this review are completely my own.

This is the second book in the captivating Sanctuary series. Paradise Alsen, a wildlife veterinarian, has recently opened her own clinic in town. While she and Blake have discussed marriage, they are not officially engaged yet, while Blake is focused on stabilizing the Sanctuary's finances.
The tension escalates when one of the Sanctuary's employees is found dead in the tiger yard, casting immediate suspicion on Blake, who is presumed negligent for allowing the tiger access to her. As more suspicious incidents unfold, it becomes clear that someone is determined to drive them out of the Sanctuary. While Paradise strives to establish her clinic in town, she also lends her expertise to help the Sanctuary whenever possible.
In addition to the turmoil at the Sanctuary, Paradise faces an unexpected twist in her personal life as she grapples with surprising DNA results. As she searches for the brother she never knew existed, she becomes increasingly embroiled in the Sanctuary's struggles.
The story is truly captivating as Blake and Paradise unite to save the Sanctuary, encountering numerous obstacles and dangers along the way. A soil test revealing traces of rare earth raises an alarming question: Is someone trying to drive them out of business to obtain access to the valuable resources beneath the ground? Furthermore, the revelation of a potentially missing will could change everything; even who is the actual legal owner of the Sanctuary.
This book was impossible to put down until the last page was turned.
I received a complimentary copy of this book. All comments and opinions are my own.

Good continuing story of Blake and Paradise at the Sanctuary Wildlife Preserve. Plenty of action and drama to keep you entertained and engaged in the story! The ending has cliffhangers so stay tuned for another adventure!

I absolutely loved the romance dynamics between Blake and Paradise. Their relationship felt real, layered, and genuinely heartwarming—full of its own challenges, yet grounded in mutual care. The slow build and emotional honesty made their arc so satisfying.
The suspense? Gosh. Just when I thought things couldn’t get more complicated, the hole kept getting deeper. I found myself constantly asking, “How are they going to get out of this?” Coble kept me hooked with tension and perfectly timed twists.
I also appreciated the family relationship dynamics. Paradise’s reactions to Blake’s protective instincts felt frustrating at times—but so authentic for someone carrying trauma. The emotional walls she’d built made total sense. But what made it even more moving was that Blake’s protective instincts didn’t stop with Paradise—they extended to his mother and brothers too. His steady, responsible nature added so much realism and emotional depth to the story. He felt like a man grounded in love, not just driven by romance.
And then there’s The Sanctuary. What a surreal and thrilling setting! The active wildlife, vivid descriptions, and wild unpredictability of it all brought a unique energy to the story. I can’t even imagine living in a place like that—scary and beautiful all at once.
I absolutely did not see the whodunit coming. The red herrings, reveals, and character motivations were masterfully woven.
This is my first Colleen Coble book, and I’m already planning to read more ASAP. Highly recommended for fans of romantic suspense, complex characters, and settings that come alive on the page.
Thanks to NetGalley and Thomas Nelson Fiction for the complimentary copy. Opinions expressed in this review are 100% mine.

This second installment of the Sanctuary series is a perfect blend of second-chance romance and heart-pounding suspense.
With ‘Prowl,’ Cobble writes to remind her readers that (1) our past doesn’t need to define us, (2) second chances are opportunities not to be missed, and (3) that there’s freedom in forgiveness.
Cobble reintroduces us to the wildlife veterinarian, Paradise Alden, who is eager to find lost family despite every effort made ending in frustration. She’s convinced that someone doesn’t want her to revisit her past. Paradise learns that “if we let fear control us, we miss out on the day-to-day things that make life rich and meaningful,” and so she sets fear aside and puts it all in God’s hands. I was in awe of her ability to trust after all she’d been through.
Blake Lawson is the co-owner of the Sanctuary and has a history with Paradise. Despite everything going on at work, he continues to put Blake first. He reminds her that there’s no shame in leaning on each other to compensate where they each need help. I identified with her struggle because I’m also independent and hate asking for help.
The suspense ranges from quickening pulse moments to heart-pounding, adrenaline-filled page flipping. There’s a murder to investigate and strange events surrounding the Sanctuary property to understand. Coble keeps her readers’ inner sleuths busy as she doles out the clues regarding property ownership and DNA results.
For anyone who’s ever questioned why God allows certain things to happen, who struggles with change or forgiveness, or is apprehensive about second chances … this is your gentle nudge to add this one to your reading list.
I was gifted this copy and was under no obligation to provide a review.

Prowl is the second book in the Sancturary series by colleen Coble.
This book gripped me from the beginning pages. A second chance romance with a suspenseful outline. When Paradise starts getting phone calls and notes left that have a Phantom of the Opera theme. A movie that she loved as a young girl before her parents were murdered. She realizes that the stalker has to be someone from her childhood. Her boyfriend Blake wants to keep her close worrying about her safety, but Paradise is independent and feels like he is a bit stifling. She doesn't want to live in fear. This book had a lot of twists and turns to it. Colleen Coble does it again.

Colleen Coble has quickly become one of my favorite authors, and Prowl—the second book in the Sanctuary series—reminded me why. I absolutely loved Paradise and Blake’s story. In this installment, we get a deeper look into Paradise’s past, which adds even more depth to her character.
It was great to reconnect with familiar faces from the first book while also meeting new family and friends. I didn’t want to put this book down—I even stopped reading other books just to stay immersed in this one! The story pulled me in from the very beginning and didn’t let go. I’m already looking forward to the next book in the series!
