Of the three Bachelor series books, I was most impressed with this book. Ms. Crane wrote a beautiful realistic story about two strangers who feel an immediate attraction for one another, yet struggle to come to terms with more than the physical connection they feel for each other. The narrative and dialogue feel real to me and it is a heart-wrenching story that I will happily recommend to my listeners and readers. Very well done.

Everything is not what it seems. Falling in love is never easy, especially when the one you love is promised to someone else. Book 5 in the Bachelor auction series finds Jesse Grey participating in the Bachelor Auction at the urging of his family. Jesse ends up being bought by the family of Michaela Townsend. Michaela finds herself drawn to Jesse. However, a problem stands in the way of this budding romance. Michaela is engaged to someone else. Someone who is keeping secrets of their own.
Received a copy of this book for an honest review. I am enjoying the Bachelor Auction series. It has been an entertainingly fun group of books. Would definitely recommend.

Of all the books the series, this one would be the lightweight. Jesse Grey and Michaela Townsend have both made their lives and fortunes far away from Marietta, Montana. They appear to be content with their success but in truth they are just hiding from the reality of their lives. Jesse doesn't believe in love anymore after he was badly burned by betrayal from the ones closest to him. Michaela has convinced herself that her "open relationship" with her fiancee is what she really wants in life but has never attempted to explore the lifestyle.

When fate and Montana weather throws them together on a road trip, each is forced to re-evaluate their life choices and face their demons.

This story is FULL of angsty goodness, Jesse Gray is dealing with the ultimate betrayal by none other than his own father. Michaela Townsend seemingly has it all but a snowed in interlude at a hotel with Jesse has her questioning everything she thought she believed. The romance and sexual tension between these two was pulse-pounding. I was on the edge of my seat wondering if THIS was the moment through the whole story. Unlike the other Bachelor books this one has very little secondary character interaction, but what there is is wonderful and significantly drives the plot. Another hit from the Bachelor Auction series.

Megan Crane's In Bed with the Bachelor was nothing like I expected. When the story started I didn't even like Michaela, but thankfully by the end of the story I did. She was brainwashed by her fiancee into having an open relationship, which really meant the fiancee could screw anyone he wanted. Hearing Michaela talk and reading her perspective for the first half of the book made me really not like her. Jesse's perspective was a lot better and those points were what kept me reading. Jesse was a good guy with a messed up piece of family history. That history was coloring his interactions with Michaela. If it wasn't for Jesse, Michaela would have ended up married to a guy that was using her, so them meeting and falling in love was for the best. Despite not liking the heroine at the beginning, she did redeem herself and I am glad I read this story. It is the 5th book in the Bachelor Auction series and I'm one for reading all of a series if I can. This story only gets 3.5 stars from me tho, because it took me so long to like the heroine.

I absolutely loved this one, it is my favorite out of all of them. I absolutely loved the fact that Tenn did not once give up on Casey even when I thought he was going too. I loved that he was able to get Casey to let go of her past and pain and be open to finding that once in a lifetime of love. Tenn has placed himself permanently on my favorites of book boyfriends. This is a very well written story and I loved seeing all the other characters too.

I was given a copy by the publisher via Netgalley in exchange for an honest review.

I thought this was a very enjoyable read although it is a bit different from the other Marietta stories I've read. Jesse Grey, the very hot, very successful nephew of the towns saloon owner is next on the auction block. Michaela Townsend is in town visiting family and is shocked when her family bids for and gets Jesse Grey. Especially since she already has a fiance!!

If you looking for a light afternoon read this one is perfect, I recommend it.

This is another quick, easy read from Marietta mixing cabin fever with a hero who has daddy-issues and heroine who’s been brain-washed by her cheating fiancé. Jesse might be surly and grumpy, but I liked how he and Michaela fit so well together – they’re both hardworking, both successful and have no need to interrupt each other’s work time. They also have some scorching chemistry and plenty of subtle flirty moments.

Cute, sensual and easy to read, this is another great addition to the Bachelor Auction series.

I love Megan Crane books! And whenever I read one I know its a Megan Crane book. Ms. Crane has a talent for creating really interesting and emotionally conflicted characters. She allows the reader to get into the head of the characters. And I love to know and understand what the characters are thinking.

And oh boy does she know how to write men. I think my favorite exchange between Jessie and Michaela was when he referred to Michaela's boyfriend as a douche because Michaela usually carries her own luggage. Jesse is rough and surly, but this exchange demonstrates that deep down he is a gentleman.

In Bed with the Bachelor was a great book. I could not put it down and ended up staying up half of the night to finish it.

Let’s talk Bachelor#5 Jesse Gray, the construction tycoon and the proverbial playboy of Seattle. Roped into the Bachelor Auction, he ends up being bid for Michaela Townsend by her family. He can give amazing dates filled with gourmet dinners and star accommodations but his smiles maybe more expensive than anything else. And Michaela Townsend seems to bother him too much into scowling and feelings that he never wanted to feel.

Michaela maybe rich, independent and engaged, but being stranded with Jesse during a snowstorm brings out feelings that make her question her life and choices. Sparring with each other, trying to keep their hands off each other only makes it even more painful and intense, as the sparks of attraction threaten to consume them. As much as Michaela wants to be “In Bed With The Bachelor”, she’s got some issues that her heart needs to resolve.

Manipulated to be with each other in each other’s company, in a single room, Megan Crane weaves a witty story around Jesse and Michaela. And again love the way these authors have incorporated all these stories in parallel strengths. Another short story that brings a smile and a sigh to the lips.

This was my first time reading a book by this author.

This is the fifth books in a the series. I liked that it was a continuation (being familiar with the plot and the characters) but also a stand alone novel.

I also liked that almost three quarters of the novel was "foreplay". The main characters spent a lot of time together and falling for each other but each had separate issues to take care of before they could be togehter. That was a nice change from other books of this genre.

I will be looking for the rest of the books in this series. I enjoyed the first two that I have read.

I will also post on Twitter and Facebook.

This is the third book of the Bachelor Auction series that I have read, and my least favorite so far. For me the first half of this novella was long and repetitive. The second half definitely picked up and I enjoyed Jesse and Micheala interacting. But I think my main problem was that I didn't like Micheala. She was superior and snooty and didn't have an iota do common sense, and seemed to be deliberately obtuse. Maybe it's just that I can't understand her choices, but she just didn't do it for me. So, it was an alright read for me, but it didn't leave me with warm fuzzies.

Michaela lives and work in Seattle and is having her bridal shower in Marietta with her relatives, and this visit happens to coincide with the Bachelor Auction being held in Marietta for charity. She has been dating Terrence for two years and is now engaged to be married. They both agree to an open relationship which happens to be one sided. Whilst Terrence makes the most of it, Michaela is too busy with her job and doesn't have time for indulgence. She is convinced or tries to convince herself that the way she lives her life is right one, that is until she meets Jesse.

Jesse is a self made millionaire running his business in Seattle and he is one of the participants in the auction, which he is doing begrudgingly. He has been betrayed in the past and has spent the last three years avoiding any emotional involvement with the opposite sex. Michaela's aunt and cousins get together to raise the money to buy Jesse at the auction as a bridal shower gift. There is an instant attraction between them, to the point where Michaela is rendered speechless by Jesse's looks and his presence.

There is a snowstorm which grinds the flights back to Seattle to a halt and Jesse is forced to give Michaela a lift back, against his better judgement. When they become stranded and have to share a hotel room, things turn even more awkward. With Michaela being engaged and Jesse's feelings about betrayal, cheating is out of the question.

Will Michaela be able to revisit her feelings about Terrence, knowing how she feels about Jesse? Will Jesse be able to come to terms with his past and try to commit to a relationship? It's another captivating story in this series, which would appeal to those who like a well written romance with great characters.

I received this ARC in exchange for an honest review.

I enjoyed this book. I liked the Jesse and Michaela. The bachelor auction set up the whole premise for them meeting. I liked the sexual tension that built between the characters and that it built and wasn't satisfied right away. I will be reading more books by Megan Crane.

Evidently even relatives of those who live in Marietta are as unspeakably hot as those who call Marietta their home! Jesse Grey, who lives in Seattle, would rather write a check for the cause, but he reluctantly agrees to be auctioned as a date at the charitable fundraiser being held to raise money for an injured boy and his mom. The family of Michaela Townsend wins the bid, giving the date to Michaela as her bachelorette gift. Michaela is stunned into silence and awe at the handsome Jesse Grey, and he finds her … intriguing. As a snowstorm descends on Montana, Jesse decides he wants to head back to Seattle early, hoping to beat the storm. Since Michaela also lives in Seattle, he offers to bring her with him since her flight will likely be canceled. As expected, the storm rages on, causing them to spend a couple of nights at a small motel where there was only one available room. Interesting conversations and increasing tensions lead to both confusion and desire, but Jesse does not ‘poach’ another man’s woman-no matter what. The weather finally clears, as do the roads, and several hours later, Jesse is driving away from Michaela’s home, while she watches him leave. Neither feels contentment nor peace, but she is an engaged woman … can there really be a HEA ending for either of them?

This was another good Marietta bachelor auction book – can be read as a stand-alone, but does briefly mention a few characters from the other stories. If you enjoyed the other books in the series, you will want to read this one too. Definitely recommended.

Thank you to the author and publisher for an ARC in exchange for an honest review.

Michaela is engaged to be married and her relatives bought her a bridal shower gift she'd never forget. Her gift - is Jesse Grey, one of the bachelors from the recently concluded Bachelor Auction in Montana. Jesse was forced to join the bidding by his uncle and was kind of attracted to Michaela but had to keep his distance knowing fully well that she's about to tie the know with someone else. Things were about to change when they got snowbound & stranded in hotel halfway to Seattle. A night that would awaken their desires & change their lives forever.

This had been a totally romantic read. Although at fist I was put off by Michaela's blabbermouth, Jesse was there to sweeten the deal even after all his scowling and bad moods. To me, he's a challenge, a good kind of challenge. He's the perfect man to wake up Michaela from her nightmare of a fiance. I love these two characters. Their love story is beautiful and sizzling, something nice to read at night!

Michaela's family "won" her a bachelor at the auction, but she's engaged. Jesse was tricked into the auction by his uncle, but he doesn't go back on his word. Since they both live in Seattle, Michaela hitches a ride with Jesse to beat the storm. Snowbound in a motel, they both must face some facts about life--Michaela's engagement relationship isn't all it's cracked up to be, in fact it's so broken, she's ready to move on. Jesse realizes not only is he not the kind of guy to ruin someone else's engagement, he must face the past before he can move forward.

Sizzling chemistry between them, after they face those who have kept them in "limbo" for years, they fall into each other's arms and into a love greater than each thought possible.

Book Review: In Bed with the Bachelor by Megan Crane

A romantic comedy with lots of UST, “In Bed with the Bachelor” follows Jesse Grey and Michaela Townsend, both of whom are out-of-towners but have deep Marietta roots.

Winning Jesse in the Marietta Bachelor Auction, Michaela found herself being driven back to Seattle by Jesse with both of them trying to be ahead of the snowstorm. But Mother Nature is faster than Jesse’s SUV and they had to stop in a very small Montana town.

And in the grand tradition of “It Happened One Night,” the chemistry between Jesse and Michaela that has been simmering since the night of the auction finally began to boil.

There is only one big problem though; Michaela is engaged to be married and Jesse refuses to be “that guy” who cheats and steals a girl from another man.

“In Bed with the Bachelor” has a great storyline! Two strangers who has this inexplicable attraction to each other and yet even with the impossible situation they were thrown in, both of them were able to hold on to their principles.

I would have loved to give this book 5 stars but I have to give it 4 because of the references to “Fifty Shades of Grey” which were unnecessary. And I don’t mean Jesse’s last name being Grey.

Even before the movie came out, “Fifty Shades of Grey” was already ubiquitous. The dialog between Christian and Anastasia had been parodied so many times. So for Michaela to ask, “What do I get if I say yes,” and Jesse answering, “You’ll get me” was superfluous.

There was no need to reference “Fifty Shades of Grey”. Jesse and Michaela’s story is strong on its own right without referencing Christian Grey and Anastasia Steele.

“In Bed with the Bachelor” is Rated YA for Young Adult due to some sexual content.

Michaela Townsend is engaged to be married but she and her fiancé have an open relationship. Well, at least it's an open relationship on his end. She's never been tempted to be with another man and it's mostly because she's so busy with work. But when she finds herself at a bachelor auction in her family's hometown of Marietta, Montana and they bid on and win a surly but oh-so-good looking bachelor, it's more than her curiosity that's piqued. Michaela knows that Jesse Grey could be the one man to break her.

Jesse Grey is suckered into participating in the charity bachelor auction in his hometown of Marietta, Montana by his Uncle Jason, owner of Grey's Saloon. Not only has he been bought by the family of a woman who thinks he would be the perfect "date" for her wannabe business tycoon of a fiancé, but now his services as a driver and travel companion to Seattle, Washington have been offered by his uncle and the woman's aunt. The last thing he needs is to spend more time with the confounding Michaela Townsend.

Trapped in a snowstorm on their way to Seattle, Jesse and Michaela are forced to seek shelter in a motel that only has one spare room that houses a king-sized bed. Over the span of 48 hours, the pull between gets more difficult to ignore with each passing minute, but Jesse knows what it feels like to be cheated on and refuses to pursue anything more with Michaela, no matter how much he wants to. Michaela needs to decide if it's time to end one thing to consider the possibilities of another with the enigmatic Jesse Grey.

In Bed with the Bachelor is the fifth novel in the Bachelor Auction series and was written by Megan Crane. Out of all the books, this one felt the most different and maybe it's because the lead characters pushed each other and not in a playful kind of banter. Jesse doesn't try to be the brooding, sexy guy that women want to be with. The pain of having his ex-girlfriend and father do what they did is enough to make any guy surly and moody. I thought Michaela would be meek but she proved she could give as much as she took.

I so loved how real this story felt because it didn't have any insta-love or insta-lust going on. Yes, there was an attraction there but both Michaela and Jesse fought it for as long as they could. The ending isn't your typical happily-ever-after either, making this an even more worthy book of my non-stop oohing and aahing. A bookaholic like me who's been reading two or more books a day this past month is always on the look out for that something more, something different. I found it in In Bed with the Bachelor. 5 stars! ♥

The Bachelor series continues with the story of Jesse and Michaela. Jesse a construction tycoon, nephew of town saloon owner is put on the auction block by his family. Michaela is in town for her bridal shower, and her family bids on Jesse. Michaela is in an open relationship with her fiance, which her family does not approve of. Jesse agrees to drive Michaela from Montana to Seattle, they get stuck in a snowstorm for two nights, and the motel only has one bed. Will sparks ignite between these two.

I was provided a copy from Net Galley for an honest review. This was an enjoyable read. I have really enjoyed the Bachelor series, all single stories with this one common thread.

Love love love this Marietta Mini series and the bachelor's selected to take part. I was right they're in Marietta at Greys when the auctions were taking part thanks to how well each of the novels were written. Unfortunately my bids were ignored for our heroines. This is Jesse's and Michaela's story and Michaela isn't purchasing Jesse for herself she's purchasing him to help her fiance and she's going to ignore the attraction she feels for Jesse despite the open relationship she and her fiance enjoy well her fiance enjoys anyway and then the storm happens and good intentions are forgotten and attraction reigns.

This romance is the story of Jesse and Michaela. When Jesse is bought by Michaela's family at a Bachelor auction with the intention of helping her fiance's business it's pretty clear that he's to keep his hands to himself. But stranded in a snowstorm on their way back to the big city, all his good intentions will be tested by the sexual attraction that simmers between them. Michaela isn't immune to Jesse either and though she and her fiance have an open relationship (which she knows he takes full advantage of), she's never really thought of experimenting before - until Jesse. Their time together will test them both - will it lead to a happy ending?

I really enjoyed this story! I'm a sucker for sexual tension and this one has it in spades, from the first moment they lay eyes on each other. The ethical dilemma is the wedge between them - Jesse determined to never be the other man, yet Michaela being in an open relationship means that for her it wouldn't be cheating. So you have more than one kind of tension in the room with them, and it leads to decisions big and small on both their parts. They are both really attractive and engaging characters, all the more so for their determination to do the right thing. As they spend time together they both open up their lives to each other, making for bonds that are not easily broken. I found the story to be difficult to put down, wanting to see how things would end up. It was an entertaining read from start to finish. 4 stars, and a great addition to the Bachelor Auction series!

I received this book as an ARC for my honest review from Net Galley.

Somehow I stumbled upon this excellent series about a bunch of sexy Bachelors that are being auctioned off for a great cause. I love the idea of the series although it is about the same town and the same auction the books are written by different Authors. With it being written this way you are getting a fresh look from different points of view but all with the same beautiful result. Great idea, Great series!

This was definitely a good book I loved that Megan Crane did not make Jesse the classic male hero in this novel. Jesse was honest, funny, and a sexy hunk with a damaged heart.

I must admit that Michaela drove me crazy, but yet again Megan did a great job making Michaela completely different from the other females in the series.

Michaela is engaged to be married to a guy that I absolutely hate. When Jesse is wrangled by Lily and his family to be involved in the bachelor auction he is, for lack a better word, unhappy.

Things really heat up when Jesse knows that he wants her, but refuses to be the other guy, leaving Michaela to wonder how open she wants her open engagement to be...

This book is definitely different from the others in the series, it brings a fresh perspective because this couple goes on a sexually frustrating road trip that really puts them to the test and their situation is sooo different from the others. This book is sexy and romantic but also about forgiveness and really letting go of the past; good job Megan Crane.

In Bed With The Bachelor is one of those books tat has you making excuses to read rather than doing the myriad other tasks that should be taking up your day. This book had me from the first paragraph and held me to the last sentence.
I identified with Michaela and her almost hero worship admiration for Jesse. I've been there, admittedly not for a very long time but that sort of attraction is not easily forgotten. I understood Jesse and his reticence to get involved. I think I loathed Michaela's fiancé almost from the first, and perhaps this was the one thing I found difficult to understand about Michaela. How can a bright, rational, intelligent woman be so easily taken in by such a sleezebag and yet I know it happens.
It goes without saying that I loved this book. The prose is slick, the imagery is superb and the storyline is a logical progression of fascinating steps. The sexual attraction between Michaela and Jesse builds deliciously yet for these two it is obvious that the attraction is more more than skin deep and besides this story is gripping. This book is an absolute credit to Megan Crane!

A good addition to the series, although not sure why she was engaged to the other idiot. Did not convince me, but I did like the chemistry and bantor between the H and h. Would recommend this book and this series.

I’ve enjoyed other books in this series so was looking forward to reading this one,too - and I wasn’t disappointed! The whole series is about a bachelor auction to raise funds to help a child with his medical treatment and life. In this instance, the bachelor being auctioned, Jesse Grey, isn’t actually from Marietta though he does have several family members living there - hence how he came to participate, they volunteered and dared him to do so! He’s a local boy who became a construction tycoon and is now based in Seattle. He is offering a glamorous weekend there for whoever buys him. Wait till you read what happened to him when he brought his girlfriend home for Christmas!

Michaela Townsend is visiting her family when the auction takes place - and they buy Jesse for her! She already lives in Seattle, has a fiancé and certainly wasn’t anticipating this. She is appalled, tongue tied and really attracted when she actually meets Jesse - and the attraction is mutual! He doesn’t believe in cheating and she’s never been tempted before. She is, however, questioning her relationships in general and journeying home through a snowstorm, having to take refuge in a motel en route, sharing a room - even if the bed is king size - will test them both.

The characters are believable, their turmoil at their mutual attraction heart wrenching and the story is a great read. I have no hesitation in recommending this - and other books in the series - to anyone who enjoys a realistic great romance to escape into.

Thanks to the author and publishers, too, for letting me read this book in exchange for an honest review.

Stranded in a snowstorm with an extremely hot man? Yes, please! She won him during the bachelor auction and was to get a trip to Seattle with him. Due to a snowstorm their trip took a sideways turn. Sexual tension aplenty but Michaela is engaged to a douche bag con artist cheater. This was the part I had issues with, why stick with a guy who requires an open relationship? She seemed smart and witty and fun but she's attached to this boob. Doesn't make sense. Otherwise a pretty fun story with plenty of sexy moments, sparkle of humor and doses of normalcy. This was the fifth book in a six book series but could be read as a standalone. Copy given through Netgalley for honest review.

Jesse Grey is one of my favorite bachelors in the Montana Born Bachelor Auction. I loved that he was conflicted about acting on his attraction to Michaela, that he had some hard lines and boundaries that he didn't cross.

I loved how each of their families played a part in their story, an unusual matchmaking twist.

In Bed with the Bachelor was a great addition to the series. Looking forward to the next one.

3.5 stars Another winner from this series. Take one sexy guy...a tad bitter from past romantic experiences; mix with a woman who is determined to be the open minded woman of a man who seems to cheat on her. Throw them on a snowy road trip together and fella shows our girl how a real man has morals and beliefs. He opens her eyes to what she needed to see.

I have now read all the books in the series I may not have read them in order which was not necessary each of the books were written by different authors. I think all of the authors did a phenomenal job each writing a book for this series. They all blended very well together.
In Bed with the Bachelor is about Jesse Grey, nephew to the owner of the saloon where the Bachelor auction is taking place. He is a very successful construction company owner in the Seattle area. Michaela Townsend is also from Seattle. She is visiting her family in Marietta where her family buys her Jesse, with their winning bid at the auction. Michaela has a fiancé back home in Seattle. Her family thinks he is a butt hole, for that matter, so does Jesse, and a lazy one at that. However, Jesse will not poach, period. You see, a few years ago, Jesse went home for Christmas, bringing his girlfriend with him. His father poached, and actually married her. Jesse has not been home since.
I am not going to go any further into the description, only to say due to circumstances, weather, and confined conditions, Jesse and Michaela find themselves at a point neither want, but both need.
Ms. Crane, wonderful job in writing your part of this series. My applause goes out to you. I really want to thank NetGalley for allowing me to read the entire series. I greatly enjoyed each and every book.
Thank you for reading my review. Read all of the books in this series, you will not be disappointed.

this is part 5 of the 6 part series , have loved every single one. This is Michaela Townsend and Jesse Grey's story. This one takes place in the States. Michaela wins Jesse at the auction much to his annoyance and the next day he decides to drive them back to Seattle before the big snowstorm arrives but the weather turns bad on the way so they have to stop at a Motel where they have to spend 2 days stuck with each other in one room. Boy what a couple they were . I felt for the guy. And Michaela is a bit tricky. She's a proud and independent woman but she's a little too proud in a way that she doesn't realize she's compromising her happiness with it. she needs to get off her high horse and see what is around her Jessie is not the classic male hero in this novel. the Author though outside the box . Michaela is engaged to be married to another guy. Jesse was honest, funny, and a sexy hunk with a damaged heart , The two characters needed each other to heal each other Get the story to find out do they get together . Does Michaela get married to the other guy This book is sexy and romantic but also about forgiveness and really letting go of the past

SO, let me be brief .... There's nothing to like about this book. It did absolutely nothing for me. Both leads were written in a manner that truly made them come across as absolute idiots ans the story-line itself was ludicrous and infantile.

I dunno, sorry, but this just was not a good book ... but at least I read it all the way thru :)
