This a great well written complete story. I THROUGHLY ENJOYED the interaction between Logan and Raina. The passion and chemistry between these two combustible. I would definitely recommend this book and look forward to Paige and Sawyers story in the next book in this series.

Actual rating 4.5

This was an enjoyable read. It was hot and has a small mystery/suspense element to keep things interesting.

Logan was of course the typical alpha-male. He liked to be in control but I don't think the author over did it. The fact Raina wasn't naturally submissive gave the relationship an interesting dynamic and you couldn't help but be sucked into their romance. I liked the power play element between the two of them. There is clear chemistry and Logan is swoon worthy. I'm all for hot bodyguards.

Moreover although the mystery element isn't as prominent in the book, it's always in the background. I liked how the author linked it to Raina's past and insecurities and thought it gave things an extra spark of interest.

Overall this was a hot read. The characters were easy to love, the romance was spicy, and there was clear chemistry. I'll definitely be checking out the next book.

Ever since author Erika Wilde introduced The Players Club in book five of the Marriage Diaries (The Invitation) I have been waiting for this book and Playing With Temptation was well worth the wait. Provocative yet emotional this book packs a punch offering some seductively kinky sexy times mixed with just enough conflict and drama to make it interesting, but without taking away from the incredible romance that blossoms.

I love a strong and confident heroine and that is the image that Raina Beck shows to the world at large. Owner of a successful adult toy store and boutique, Raina is proud of the life she's built and the control she's taken in her life. Her personal life has been less than stellar so when a friend gives her an invitation to The Players Club, an exclusive sex club she decides to take a chance but she has no idea it will change her life in more ways than one.

There is something about a strong, confident, dominate man who isn't afraid to take on a strong woman or one that isn't afraid to admit he's got strong feelings and Logan Cruz was that and so much more. A retired Marine, a respected security agent, a dedicated brother and uncle, and a man who isn't afraid to help a woman discover all kinds of new things Logan's overwhelming control made him one very attractive man.

Meeting and being intimate at the Player's Club makes things very interesting when Logan is assigned to protect Raina when she is the target of a stalker. I enjoyed the fact that these two met in an unconventional way and that despite the events that followed they were able to get past them and move into more than a professional relationship. Raina has some baggage but what amazed me is that Logan wouldn't let her wallow in it; he accepted everything about her and in fact was drawn to her even more because of it. I flat out love the open communication between these two on all things and while they originally held some things back they eventually laid it all out there, discussed it and moved on. Logan impressed me with the way he knew exactly what Raina needed and was very skillful in helping her accept it by building a trust she'd never had with a partner before. While physically Raina was on board pretty quickly with everything Logan expected from her, it took her a little while to figure it out mentally.

As with this author's previous series, I appreciate the way these characters communicated, the adult way they handled their issues, and the no holds barred way they gave themselves to each other. Playing With Temptation is a stellar start to what is sure to become an outstanding series.

Fast, Hot, Sexy read!! Alpha male Logan Cruz runs into Raina and the sparks go flying! Their is suspense and drama mixed in this story. There is also a lot of self esteem issues. Can you blame the girl after her childhood and her previous boyfriends and finance? She has a lot to learn in the men's department, but Logan is a force to be reckoned with! He knows what he wants and he wants Raina!! The words that this man says! He is hot in and out of the sack. Never really letting go of his dominant nature which is totally fine with me!! I enjoyed this read and am looking forward to Paige's story. On to the next!!

I received this ARC via Net Galley for my honest opinion. Thank you Net Galley!!

1st book I've read by this author but it was good. I will be looking forward to more.

I can't honestly tell you how long I waited for this book. Having read the earlier series that The Player's Club is spun-off from, The Marriage Diaries, I had planned for some to read about Raina, Logan and their tryst at the titular sex club. And, I have to say, it was hot enough to make the delay in reading it worthwhile.

Raina Beck is the proud owner of Sugar and Spice, an adult boutique, and yet, her personal life leaves more than a little to be desired. When her friend, Jillian gives her an invitation to indulge at The Player's Club, an exclusive sex club, she's prepared for a night of scintillating kink with a perfect stranger.

What she's not prepared for is Logan Cruz. Walking away after their encounter was hard, but when a stalker makes their presence known in her life, Raina finds herself once again face-to-face with Logan...and that their chemistry is just as strong as it was on their one hot night.

The Marriage Diaries was one of the first truly erotic series I read, and I will admit to having re-read the highlights a few times since I first one-clicked. Playing With Temptation didn't quite get to me the same way as the earlier books, but it was still a very, very sexy read. Probably too sexy for where I read it...an aeroplane. *gulp*

Raina and Logan sure knew how to burn up the sheets, making reading in public a touch awkward. I mean, who knows who was reading along with me on that plane? Eh, hopefully they enjoyed it as much as I did. The story that brought these two together -- Raina's stalker -- didn't intrigue me as much as the couple themselves. It felt a little bland for a mystery, but worked effectively in bringing the two together in a fun, believable kind of way. Likewise, their own conflict never truly troubled to me, but perhaps that just because their attraction was so great, it was difficult to image a scenario where happily ever after became happily never after.

There is more to come from Erika Wilde and The Player's Club, and I am willing to wait to see what comes next. I enjoyed the epilogue/setup for Paige and Sawyer's story and I fairly sure that it will, once again, be very hot and super sexy. And sometimes, that's all you need when flying across the country...

Raina Beck and Logan Cruz met at The Players Club and had an amazing experience together. He knew as soon as he saw her that he had to have her and once wouldn't be enough. After their first time together she left without even giving him her name. The next day she awoke with evidence of a stalker at her front door. When she goes to a friends security company for help, who do you think her bodyguard turns out to be? Yes, none other than her anonymous, ultra sexy partner from the night at the club, Logan Cruz.

Fantastic book! Extremely well written. The dirty talk was AWESOME! Raw, masculine and oh so sexy Logan Cruz is now in the running for Book Boyfriend of the year! He knows what he wants and doesn't stop until he gets it. I truly enjoyed my first book written by the talented Erika Wilde and I am definitely a fan! I can't wait for book two in The Players Club series.

Talk about scorching hot. This book is all that and more. You will need an iceberg to cool off after reading some of the moments that Raina and Logan share. They meet at the club where Raina has come to find someone to share a night of passion with, but she isn't looking for more than that. Then Logan happens. From the very first glance across the room to the sizzling sex in a chair, you just know this couple is going to be off the charts hot together. Raina runs afterwards thinking she wouldn't see the stranger again. Then she gets a stalker and needs protection. Imagine her surprise when that turns out to be Logan. Loved it. They are both taken by surprise and will take full advantage of their time together while trying to figure out who wants to hurt Raina. I absolutely loved their story and was left panting wanting more once I finished. I can't wait to read the next book in the series.

I give Playing With Temptation 5 hearts!

This review is for Playing with Tempation by Erika Wilde.
This was my first time reading anything by Erika Wilde and I have to say that she now has a new fan!
I really enjoyed this story, the chemistry between Logan and Raina is awesome, even when they're not indulging in grown folks sexy times. They are a couple who can have a serious discussion when it's required, but they also can do playful and flirty bantering back and forth.
Logan is the rare male character who knows he wants to get married and have kids, and has known this about himself for quite a while. He thought he found his forever with his high school sweetheart, until he learned that she was unfaithful while he was deployed overseas. Since then, he hasn't allowed himself to get close to any one particular woman, until he meets Raina at The Players Club.
Raina has not had an easy life, and most of her issues go back to her childhood and living with her father, who is bipolar and never took his meds regularly. Add to that people who automatically assume the worst about her simply because of her business and she's just chosen to remain closed off from any potential relationship. Perfectly understandable, it sucks being judged without anyone taking the time to get to know you.
I also liked that Logan didn't care how others felt about Raina's business, that he was actually proud of and for her. Even Logan's brother-in-law set Logan's sister Emily straight about being so judgmental.
The sexy times were insanely hot! Really, I mean that.
I would have liked the stalker aspect to have been a bigger part of the story; there were only two incidents involving the stalker before it was revealed who it was (and I figured that out after the second incident). I realize that wasn't the main aspect of the story, but since that was brought Logan and Raina together, I would have liked to have had a bit more suspense.

This is a good, entertaining and smexy story, and I'm really looking forward to the next book in the series, from the little bit that we learn in this book, the next book will have some drama to it!

So- this is NOT a book I would normally read, but I went out on a limb. What a limb! If you're looking for something spicy and intoxicating, then look no further. This read is full of provocative and steamy scenes, blended with a touch of mystery and who-done-it.

I loved the analogy used to describe The Player's Club: "The equivalent of Willy Wonka's golden ticket." Ha!

Raina owns an adult toy store which has given her unfair labels in her previous relationships. Her friend gives her an invitation to The Players Club for a night to have sex with whoever she wants. No strings, no attachments just what Raina needs! Once there she sees the man she is meant to be with for that evening. No names exchanged just one passionate (OMG) fling. That one event had Raina running from the club before she can learn anything more from him!
Logan is the man and OMG is he the man!! After having 1 taste of Raina he has to have her again. But she runs out of the club and he chases her down. Of course he doesn't catch her and he doesn't know her name.
Raina has a stalker who is leaving her threatening messages and she turns to her friends who run a security company. While meeting with the owner he has a man who will be Raina's bodyguard and when the man walks in the door it's Logan!!!! What a great story. Great character development, steamy oh so steamy sex and a book that you cannot put down!! A must read!

Holy hotness on a stick! Can I have Logan for breakfast? PLEASE?! I mean seriously, it's just no fair for Raina to keep him all to herself . (pouts in corner). That being said, they obviously love each other, and I guess she can keep him. They do provide readers with some steamy, kinky entertainment, so I can't say I begrudge them too much for finding their happiness.

In all seriousness though, I have been waiting for this spinoff from The Marriage Diaries for a while and it is SO worth the wait. The only thing I hate - is that I gobbled it up too soon! It was just that good. Suspense, sex, HOT sex, KINKY sex, SWEET sex, did I mention the sex though? Phew! But it wasn't all sex. It had the basis of a terrific story, and beyond the suspense factor Logan and Raina really developed well throughout the story and I enjoyed them opening up and seeing their relationship grow.

All in all, I thoroughly enjoyed this and am dying for the next installment of the Players Club series. I've been a long-time reader of Ms. Wilde's (Denison's) and I always look forward to her books and she never disappoints. So my suggestion go take a load off and cuddle up with Logan and his dirty mouth... I guarantee you'll enjoy it!

Happy Reading!

Raina goes to The Players Club for a night of fun and finds everything she is looking for with Logan Cruz. When danger finds her Logan is the one who ends up protecting her, but who will protect her heart from Logan. The story is entertaining and the sex scenes are HOT. A was hoping for a little more depth with the characters but I did enjoy the read.

The beginning of this book actually started off a bit slow…despite the hot hook up at the club. Raina was hard for me to connect with, but once I heard more of her back story, I really felt a kinship to her. Her struggle with owning a boutique adult toy store was more about people embracing the real Raina and not forcing her to be something or someone she wasn’t. I liked her “take me as I am” attitude. That is me to a T!

Logan…come on, what’s not to love! Former marine, now security services, loves to garden, cooks and knows his way around all manner of adult toys…Too good to be true! So of course, Raina believes he is too good for her. The angst of the rest of the story was Logan trying to convince her that she was worth perusing, worth loving and worth everything. Loved that about him.

Honestly, Paige and her story are gonna be my favourite…I can already tell! The curvy corset maker and the veteran soldier who broke her heart…yeah…July can’t come fast enough! Enjoy!

Totally endearing with just enough Sugar and Spice (pun intended). I loved Logan and Raina and their relationship, but I feel like we didn't get enough. I didn't have enough of the Players' Club. I didn't have enough of the secondary characters and I definitely didn't get enough of the stalker beforehand. The person came out of nowhere and I feel like it would have had more of an impact had we met them before the stalking began. Really intrigued about Paige and Sawyer's story, so good for Wilde in baiting the reader.

Read in March, 2015

ARC generously provided by Rock Star Lit PR via NetGalley for an honest review!

This afternoon, I decided to take a quick look at my existing 'to read publishing July 2015' list of books and OF COURSE I come across Playing with Pleasure and I get ALL KINDS of excited!!! Until I realized ... damn, I did it again, I read a book and did not review. And yes, that book is Playing with Temptation!!

Better late than never, I say ......

Let me tell you what I love to read. I love to read strong alpha males who not only get to go toe to toe with their female counterparts (strong alpha female), but maybe, just maybe, they aren't as confident and dominant as they'd like the whole world to think.... I loved this story :)
The one thing that is unique about this story is that altho there is a mystery/suspense trope in the story, it isn't the focus at all. You actually forget it's even happening. The only thing it was good for, was to bring Logan and Raina together. And for me, that's awesome. Because those two ... together...SEXUAL POWERHOUSES! And nothing took away from that in this story.
OK, so you should know, Logan and Raina have history. The gist is simple. She gets an invite to 'The Club' . She goes. She an explosive night with Logan. She leaves. Simple. Until it isn't ... Raina's got herself a problem. She's got a stalker. So she needs professional help. And so their paths cross again ... and THIS time, Logan is not letting go!

This was an extremely sexually powerful story. Raina was determined to not lose control in anything of her life and Logan was equally determined to breakdown all her barriers. They were incredibly sexy together. #Perfection

The writing was flawless and sexy and quite frankly ... just plain good. There's no need for fancy here. There's a lot of sex going on in this story, but it was tasteful and necessary for these two. It's how their story needed to be told. Kudos to Erika Wilde for telling it properly!!

Raina and Logan are too incredibly awesome. I've been hearing great things about Erika Wilde's books for ages, but this is the first I've gotten around to reading. And I loved it!

There is such a fantastic cast of characters in Playing With Temptation, and I cannot wait to see more of all of them throughout the books in this series. Raina and Logan in particular are fantastic, and their relationship is hot! There is some serious heat between them.

The "danger" element with Raina's stalker lacked the intensity or severity that I was hoping for. While it provided the perfect opening for the setup of the novel, this could have been a bit more developed.

Overall, this was a pretty great read from Erika Wilde, and I am excited to dive into the next book in this series.

I forgot how much I loved Erika Wilde's stories. I haven't read her in awhile, and fell in love again with her writing. Such a hot romance! Can't wait for more!

When Raina experiences one night of passion at the Player's Club with a handsome stranger, she's quite content keeping things anonymous and has no plans to return. But when she is threatened by a stalker she turns to her friend's husband who runs a security company - and comes face to face with her stranger when he is assigned to work her case. Logan is good at what he does and protecting Raina at her erotic boutique is no hardship, especially when it gives him the chance to get her back into his arms again. Now that things are out in the open, can he convince her that what they experienced together could become part of a long lasting relationship?

I really enjoyed this story. I picked it up on the recommendation of a friend and based on the synopsis thought it would be an interesting read. Right from the start Logan and Raina have an intense sexual chemistry. When Logan takes on the position of her bodyguard, it's not long before he's got her right where he wants her.

Logan comes across as a typical alpha male but with a sweet side to him and his concern for Raina is genuine. He is determined to find out who is threatening her, and to protect her from anyone who wishes her harm. Raina is a lovely woman, friendly, caring and with a damaged heart. She's had trouble with relationships, mostly because the men she dates are either threatened by her sex shop or assume she's easy. In her experience, as soon as a man wants to introduce her to his family, he wants her to end her career too, one that she is proud of having built from the ground up. But because of Logan's sexual experience and membership at the Player's Club, he isn't intimidated at all by her shop and in fact is quite happy to do some shopping there himself, to entice Raina and show her that he's up for any games she might want to play. Logan is determined to show her that he is strong enough to defend her and that he respects her career choice. The suspense plot, with someone threatening Raina at her home and her work, is fairly predictable (there aren't a lot of possible suspects) but was well handled and comes to an action packed conclusion. Combine that with the steamy interludes between Raina and Logan (plentiful and inventive) and you've got a very sexy romance with a satisfying happy ending. I'm looking forward to reading the next in the series! 4.5 stars.

2nd in the series Wilde has developed this series to include some very confident and self-assured characters who mesh well with each other; the scenes together demonstrate smoking hot chemistry, and I really liked Raina as a character from the previous books (both book 1 and the Marriage series).

We met Raina in the Marriage Diaries (another series by Erick Wilde) and this time she is the one being offered an invitation to the exclusive Players Club.

Raina takes full advantage of all the club has to offer her not knowing that she would actually be seeing the man she ran out on so soon. Logan ends up being assigned to protect Raina and definitely would like to pick things were they left off at their night at the club.

Raina is used to being judged for owning her speciality store and Logan is used to being in charge. So in addition to some fun dialogue they clash quite often.

Looking forward to the next book in this series!

I will also post my review on Facebook and Twitter.

A love worth fighting for. Raina Beck has a stalker and the morning after her night at The Players Club the stalker makes himself known. The security specialist assigned to her case is none other than the man she ran from at The Players Club, Logan Cruz. What follows is a well-written story of love, understanding, healing, growth, and overwhelming love which will leave you breathless. This is a beautifully written start to this series.
