Description

Escape doesn’t always mean freedom…

When Princess Reiyana unexpectedly presents as an Omega at age twenty, her future is no longer her own. Once a Beta with dreams of love and adventure, she is now a political prize—coveted by Alphas across the Nine Kingdoms.

But two half-brothers change everything.

Prince Kaelendrin and Prince Alarik of Asadia enter the royal tournament to claim her hand. Their strength and charm awaken something forbidden within Reiyana, unraveling not only her carefully guarded heart but also the beliefs she’s clung to her entire life.

Determined to reclaim control of her fate, Reiyana plots her escape. But betrayal leaves her stranded in a world where power is reserved for the chosen few—and no position is more perilous than that of an Omega. Now, she must navigate dangerous alliances, confront hidden truths, and embrace the desires she’s long denied—before her destiny is decided for her.

Whisked Away is a why-choose omegaverse romantasy filled with secrets, power struggles, and slow-building passion. It is Book One in the Jewels of the Nine Kingdoms series.

Note: While this series explores shared love, there is no M/M romance between the brothers.

4⭐️ This is the first omega-verse book I’ve read so I didn’t really know what it was going to be like. Though I’m not sure that trope is 100% for me, I did really enjoy this book! Whenever I had to put the book down, I was thinking of Reiyana and how her story might end. I liked the characterization and I feel like it was really easy to become invested in the characters - even those who weren’t necessarily the “main” characters.

I’m a little bummed that the next book seems to be following different characters - it would’ve been cool to see more of Kaelen, Reiyana, and Alarik’s relationship. But it will also be interesting to meet more characters in depth and see more of this world.

Thank you to Enola M. Douglas, NetGalley, and Victory Editing for the opportunity to read this ARC!

I enjoy why choose styles of romance and this fits in that genre well. This is a fantasy world where there are three mystical classes of people. Alphas are the ones in charge and seem to be exclusively male. Betas are pretty much everyone else and Omegas are the perfect mystical counterparts to Alphas and seem to be exclusively female. This is a standard trope style. Our main character Reiyana presents as an Omega after years of thinking she would be a beta. Now she struggles with societies perceived role for Omegas. While her royal family sets up a tournament to showcase her as an available omega for matchmaking potential, she strives to escape. Then a pair of Alpha brother princes show up to the tournament and succeed in catching her attention. She is drawn to them but terrified of the role she is supposed to play. She is not submissive and will do just about anything to escape. Therein lies most of the plot as her attempts to flee her "role" lead her into a dangerous multi-realm plot, mysterious disappearances of Omegas the world over and her own attempts to find her own internal strength as well as her place with her chosen mates, realm politics and the new dangers that threaten everything she cares about. The romance is steamy and well placed and this book has a great plot and characters that are enjoyable to immerse yourself in. Great romantic read.

Whisked Away is the first royal omegaverse I’ve read and I enjoyed this story so much! Our main heroine, Princess Reiyana presents at a late age for an omega and is immediately pressured into choosing an alpha to wed. She flees with the help of a childhood friend, but quickly realizes she doesn’t know who to trust when her short taste of freedom is betrayed. Meanwhile, princes Kaelendrin and Alarik are following to rescue the princess and win over her hand.

I was immediately drawn in to the story from the beautiful writing. Everything from the setting to the characters thoughts are described perfectly and helped to set the story. I also adored both princes and how supportive they were of Reiya throughout. Reiya is a strong heroine and goes through to much in this book while remaining kind and trusting.

I thought the romance developed at a perfect slowburn pace, but the book also managed to pack enough heat. The pining and tension were perfect and I couldn’t get enough! I also really liked how it wasn’t overly lust-focused until the characters developed a meaningful connection.

There is a bit of a cliffhanger at the end that left me gasping and wanting more! I’ll definitely be tuned in to see where this series goes!

Thank you to Netgalley and the author for the ARC in exchange for my review.

When Pricess Reiya presents as an Omega at twenty years old, her entire life is turned upside down. She is suddenly a sought-after commodity for any noble-born Alpha in the Nine Kingdoms. When she tries to flee her fate in an arranged marriage, she finds herself in an even worse -and far more dangerous - situation.

Two charming Alpha princes take on the challenge of finding Reiya after they win a tournament for her hand in marriage. Will they be able to protect her from those with nefarious intentions?

Whisked Away is set in an Omegaverse. There is significant MFM open-door spice, power dynamics, mention of sexual assault. Thr MMCs are half brothers and there is no M/M spice.

First things first, I LOVE THIS STORY.

This book is honestly beautiful. The story telling is lovely from the first page and continues throughout. Reiya's story is unique and had me sprinting through this book to find out what happens. The twists are shocking and the plot is mysterious.

The author has developed a really complex political structure that I can't wait to learn more about in future installments of the series. There is a little bit of magic mentioned, and I'm interested to see how this is developed in later books. The characters are deep and multi-dimensional, with each side character contributing to the overall story arc.

I legitimately can't wait to read the rest of this series. HIGHLY recommend.

One significant note: since this book is written in the third person, the POV headings are redundant. Personally, I hate multi-first person POV books, and seeing the POV headings almost made me not want to read it.

Whisked Away completely pulled me in with its mix of romance, court intrigue, and high-stakes fantasy. Princess Reiyana’s transformation from a sheltered Beta to a defiant Omega trying to reclaim her freedom is compelling, and I loved watching her challenge everything she’d been taught to believe. The worldbuilding is lush and immersive, and the tension—both political and romantic—had me flipping pages way too late at night.
Kaelendrin and Alarik are both swoony in their own ways, and the slow-burn why-choose romance was chef’s kiss. There’s real emotional depth behind the attraction, and Reiyana’s journey feels personal and powerful. My only gripe is that I need book two now. If you’re into omegaverse romantasy with layered characters, power struggles, and slow-building heat, this one’s absolutely worth diving into.

“Whisked Away” is a sexy, romantasy that integrates A/B/O into its story flawlessly. I will admit, I was a bit hesitant to read this as the two alphas in this story are brothers and the story includes a M/M/F dynamic. However! It is important to note that there are no elements of *that* and that no romance occurs between the males, it is purely two alphas and one omega. I enjoyed the character development and plenty of spice. The writing was also done beautifully! The only reason I did not give this a perfect 5/5 was because of me starting to lose interest in the first half when the FMC starts to learn independence (if you know, you know). I completely understand that it was vital for her own character development, but it was a bit prolonged for my own attention span.

Overall, this was an enjoyable read with a FMC who is easy to love. The two MMCs were very interesting and I loved seeing their relationships develop with FMC over the course of this book, and very organically at that! I look forward to any future books from this series :)

Thank you to NetGalley, Enola M. Douglas, and Victory Editing for the eARC!

📚✨ ARC Review: Whisked Away by Enola Douglas ✨👑

I just finished Whisked Away and I am NOT okay 😭🔥👑 This book? Had me feral.

🌕 Omegaverse? Check.
🗡️ Royal intrigue? Check.
💘 Why-choose romance with two HOT princes? DOUBLE CHECK.

Princess Reiyana thought she was just a Beta dreaming of freedom and adventure, but then—BAM 💥—Omega awakening at age 20?! Her life flips faster than you can say “royal tournament” 👑💔

Enter Prince Kaelendrin (brooding Alpha with a hidden softness 🖤) and Prince Alarik (charming, dangerous, and SO not safe for your sanity ❤️‍🔥). Together? They crack Reiyana open in ways she never saw coming. And YES, it’s slow burn—DELICIOUSLY slow 🔥👀

What I loved:
💎 Complex worldbuilding without info-dumping
🧠 A smart, defiant heroine you’ll want to scream for
🤯 Twists that hit harder than betrayal in a court full of secrets
💋 Tension so thick it could slice through your soul

⚠️ But fair warning: this book does not play safe. There’s emotional intensity, deep power dynamics, and themes of autonomy vs. control that hit HARD. And that cliffhanger?? I’m on the floor. Literally. 🫠

I love that omega/alpha tropes are spreading into mainstream media and books. I loved this, it is so reminiscent of some of my favorite fanfics. The plot was great, and the characters were so fun to follow.

A beautifully layered why-choose romance set within a richly imagined omegaverse world. This book is so much more than its genre promises. Yes, it’s steamy and swoon-worthy, but it’s also tender, thoughtful, and surprisingly profound.

At its heart, Whisked Away is a story about connection—about learning to trust, to grow, and to choose love, even when the world tells you it shouldn’t exist in the way you want it to. The love story that unfolds between both princes and the princess is not only emotionally fulfilling, but deeply respectful. Their bond is rooted in shared understanding, vulnerability, and mutual healing, which makes their connection all the more moving. It’s a true triad of equals—each dynamic feels important and whole on its own, yet even stronger when together.

Douglas has a gift for embedding deeper meanings in her prose. Certain phrases and quiet moments are rich with emotional weight—whether it’s about identity, agency, or simply the courage to let someone see your most unguarded self. The characters evolve in meaningful ways, shaped by one another but never diminished. Watching each of them grow—individually and as a unit—is incredibly satisfying.

The bond between the two brothers is another highlight. Their loyalty and shared history add a compelling foundation to the story’s emotional stakes. Rather than jealousy or rivalry, their relationship is built on a deep love and protectiveness that only enhances the overall romance.

Whisked Away is everything you want in an omegaverse polyam romance—passionate, intense, emotionally charged—but it’s also unexpectedly thoughtful and tender. It’s a book about choice, love without limitations, and the power of unity in the face of expectation. A standout indie gem that deserves all the praise it’s sure to receive.

ARC Review: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

This book does travel right!! Traveling, was done so incredibly well that it might be my favorite part!

Beautifully crafted characters with descriptive world building. The political and social expectations warring with the wants/needs of the individual. Forming these complex relationships that melded and clashed in fantastic ways.

The dark themes threaded so delicately through the storyline added such a nice edge to the story. A true threat under all the pretty words. I also liked the balance of lightheartedness this story brings.

This omegaverse rich in culture and multiple kingdoms has run into a common worldwide issue - a society trained to accept the exploitation of specific childbearing women.

Thank you NetGalley and Victory Editing NetGalley Co-op for this ARC!

I will start with thanking Net Galley and the author that provided me with this ARC ! I first saw about Whisked Away on author´s instagram page and I was very intrigued.. Whisked Away is a romantasy book that combines romance with omegaverse elements.I think that was and one of the things I liked most , because it wasn´t your typically fantasy book. The world building was involving the whole time and we had the chance to discover new things and places (We will see more in the next book) , I found very interesting the social hierarchy of the book and how well it was introduced to us without slowing the pace of the book.I also liked the whole religion thing and the different cultures we discovered through ceremonies, trips or even clothing! As for the romance, when you hear about an omegaverse book, your mind instantly thinks about insta-lust but that was not it. The author achieved through her writing such a perfect slow-burn, we understood how the bond between the two mmcs works and how our fmc goes through a self discovery journey. The relationship between the three was so precious each one of them found a part of them in this bond. Additionaly, I found this very suitable for polyamory romance beginners because the author explained with a beautiful way how the brothers and the fmc complete each other and her! As for the plot I would say it´s very politcs based and an mystery is going on , I won´t say something more cause I don´t want to spoil anything. And something I couldn´t forget is the found family trope it was so sweet, their moments together made such a cozy atmosphere.

I was absolutely blown away by this book. From cover to cover, this book had me hooked.

The characters were so unique and their character traits really helped to bring the story to life. With the stark contrast between Prince Alarik and Prince Kaelen, it really pulled the story to life. I really loved the way the author described them in such detail, but in a way that leaves readers curious and wanting to find out more about these princes. I find that the author did such a wonderful job at highlighting each brother's strengths: light and dark. Both can be beautiful in their own way.

Now the character development of Princess Reiyana was also something that pulled me deeper and deeper into the story. I loved how we can easily see how her character and self-development has progressed with each passing chapter. It was wonderful to see how she didn't take things for granted and tried to see the beauty in the small things - from being able to help sell small trinkets at the market to learning how to cook. I thought that during these moments of growth, that it was so beautifully written. I thoroughly enjoyed reading her growing more and more into her self.

The plot was also very unique - with the background information of what Omega, Alpha, and Beta's are, it really made for a compelling and interesting story filled with mystery and adventure. The pace was absolutely enjoyable as it did not leave me feeling bored at all. I felt like my curiosity was satisfied the more I read.

Overall, this was such a wonderful book and I am so glad that I got the opportunity to enjoy it!

Thank you to Enola M. Douglas and NetGalley for the ARC of Whisked Away!

This book is a beautifully immersive omegaverse, why-choose romantasy filled with rich world building & slow burn relationships.

Reiyana completely stole the show for me as the FMC. She’s easy to root for & I loved watching her navigate the dynamics of her world and relationships.

That said, I personally think the pacing could’ve been a bit tighter, the middle dragged a little, and I found myself wishing for a bit more suspense or momentum at times. Still, the writing style and depth of the world more than made up for it.

Looking forward to more from this author!

This is the first book in the Jewels of the Nine Kingdoms, a series of interconnected standalones. This is an omegaverse (alpha/beta/omega) romance, without shifters, set in a fantasy world. I received an advance review copy and my thoughts are my own. Thank you to the author and R&R Books for my eArc.

Tropes and themes include:
✨ Why choose (mfm)
✨ Royalty & court intrigue
✨ Slowburn
✨ He falls first
✨ Found family
✨ She saves herself
✨ Unique desert inspired world
✨ Forced proximity
✨ Feminine rage
✨ Heats and bonds

Rating: 4/5 Stars 3/5 Flames
Nicknames: Sael, Ketra

The Lovely: I wasn’t sure what to expect with an omegaverse romance set in a fantasy world but I loved it! This had the emotionally charged, protective but caring alphas I associate with a great omegaverse but set in a lush and beautiful epic fantasy world. The world building is exquisite - from the coast kingdom all the way to the desert. This pulls and immerses you in the gorgeous settings.

The Mundane: For as long and action packed as this book is, the ending to me felt a bit anti-climatic. Or maybe “too easy” is a better way to describe it. The ending felt too short and rushed for the story that preceded that point.

Recommendation: So I read a lot of omegaverse, and a lot of romantasy. But this is the first time I’ve read a mash-up of the two - and it was fantastic. If you’re a romantasy reader looking to dip your toe into omegaverse, this book would be the perfect place to start.
