Description
“While every girl may not want to live as a fairy tale, every girl desires to be loved. It’s in our DNA because we are His Beloved.” —Sarah Humphrey
As a teenage girl, it can be difficult to juggle a world full of school stress, friend drama, sports, family dynamics, big emotions, and so many other pressures of life. In the midst of all this, fully trusting God and understanding His heart for you doesn’t always come easy. With a daily reading, Scripture passage, and prompt to speak it, doodle it, or write it out, Truly You will help you discover your best self and grow in your God-given identity.
In this 90-day devotional, Sarah Humphrey is here to come alongside you like the encouraging big sister you always wished you had. Her uplifting devotions will help you to:
- understand God's heart for you in a messy world
- make good decisions in the middle of challenging circumstances
- seek out a genuine friend or two
- and create new habits that will help God's Word stick
This devotional is part of the God Hears Her collection of resources that help women grasp the depth of God’s loving care for them.

A very loving and compassionate devotional that is thankfully devoid of toxic Christianity, which cannot be said for all “Christian” books these days. (And this is coming from a Priest’s daughter!) I felt a lot of the lessons could be applicable to adults, also, and offer like this will be a wonderful tool for my girls when they’re a little older. Also has pages to journal or doodle, but all in all a lovely book.

One line that really stayed with me was:
“You were made with intention, not accident. Even your feelings have a purpose.”
This is a much needed tool for teenagers today. They go thru so much pain and suffering, that we as parents know nothing about. This book gives them affirmations that encourage them to love themselves, just the way they are. It should included in every household that has a teen or preteen girl. I highly recommend this one.

A practical devotional designed to guide young women aged 13 to 16 through the challenges of adolescence with faith and emotional resilience. Structured as a 90-day journey, each devotion includes a relatable reflection, a Bible verse, a creative prompt (such as journaling or doodling), and a prayer, making it highly interactive and engaging.
The book tackles themes like identity, self-worth, emotional well-being, friendship, and faith in everyday life. Sarah addresses modern challenges such as social media pressure, the pitfalls of comparison, and the importance of setting boundaries, all while grounding her advice in Scripture. Her warm, conversational tone and use of personal anecdotes make the devotions feel intimate and authentic.
Standout sections include Day 5: Precious to God, which emphasises true beauty coming from a gentle spirit, and Day 14: Friendship for Good, which encourages readers to invest in meaningful relationships. The book also provides practical advice on navigating emotions, such as journaling (Day 8) and creative expression (Day 9).
While the devotional assumes a Christian world view, its messages about confidence, resilience, and self-worth are universally relevant. Truly You is an excellent resource for teen girls seeking spiritual growth, emotional validation, and practical guidance in their daily lives. It’s a comforting reminder that they are deeply loved and enough just as they are.
